  1. https://v3rmillion.net/showthread.php?tid=755346- A user has been going around accusing others of rep4rep, as well as impersonating them himself. It is currently unknown what the user’s main account is.

  3. https://v3rmillion.net/showthread.php?tid=754601- the user Aesperates, a well known marketplace user, attempted to exit scam another user, for $50. He was caught in the act on camera, and has since been permanently banned.

  9. Welcome to the marketplace: a bountiful albeit dangerous resource to the average marketplace user
  10.
  11. The v3rmillion marketplace is a gleaming bastion for a variety of different items and services. Besides the exploiting section, it stands as one of the largest sections of v3rmillion as a collective whole. Without fail, there will always be a variety of common marketplace denizens browsing this forum.
  12.
  13. However, this section faces a common and glaring problem, which arises in the form of scammers. Scammers are an everlasting problem in marketplace forums, but v3rmillion in and of itself has a definite problem with them. Every day, more users are scamming, and even more so getting scammed. It is a serious and definite flaw on both users and the site’s moderation part.
  14.
  15. The severe problem with the marketplace is it's incredibly easy access: any brand new (or recently banned user) can turn on a VPN, make a new account, and start posting again, essentially minutes after a ban. This can especially be enhanced by the purchase of VIP and/or elite, which, in the eyes of many users makes those who have purchased them much more trusted. Users such as the well-renowned scammers, “Ashura” and his partner in crime “Mula” have a penchant for exploiting to their fullest ability.
  16.
  17. This also causes another problem for users of the forum. Whilst the smart, obvious answer would be to restrict marketplace privileges for newer users, this solution would be incredibly off putting to potential users of the site, whom may be drawn in specifically for the marketplace, and may simply refuse to even sign up to v3rmillion in return. This would create an endless negative feedback loop between the lack of users signing up and those determined to scam simply aging accounts themselves or cracking and/or buying them.
  18.
  19. Overall, the current state of the marketplace has definite fundamental flaws in the way it is put together, handled, and moderated, and would need a complete and utter reboot to properly piece together a scam-free marketplace. And even though the marketplace may be seen as a toxic wasteland by some, it tends to be home to others, and is an incredibly important part of the site as a whole.
