  8. But yet they are not too busy to use that collected data to create plenty of pretty *generated images* for Instagram.

  12. Perhaps the real view from space isn't that impressive?

  14. Perhaps being in uninterrupted weightlessness for any length of time is undesirable - if not outright hellish.

  16. Many "astronauts" can be heard saying that upon arriving at the "ISS" there is a period of adjustment needed. That the first *few days* are pretty rough. (Spare a thought for the "space mice"!)

  18. Well, that adjustment period - _even if it's only 24 hours_ - is always going to be *longer* than any potential "joy ride to space" would last.

  20. And so everyone travelling to "space" for the "thrills" (and not research) is going to have an unpleasant experience that will significantly take away from any "spectacular views" they may get. (Though, the views of the Earth from space seem to vary from one "ISS" video to the next - it's never consistent.)

  22. If the views are what people want, then high altitude planes/balloons would be the better option.

  24. All it would take is for the first crop of "space tourists" to venture into space for a few hours and report back: _"It's not worth it! I was mostly feeling sick and couldn't enjoy the view!"_

  26. "Space tourism" would then be dead.

  28. The only people going would be those who just want to be able to say they went, but such people will be few in number. If it's awful, there won't be much repeat business.

  30. If everyday people have a tough time stomaching zero-g flights, I can't imagine there is going to be much demand for "space tourism" where there's no temporary break or respite until it's time to return home.

  32. There have allegedly been "citizens" who have spent time on the "ISS". If it were so wonderful, there'd be "joy ride" flights to "space" by now. Why aren't *they* - the citizens who have experienced it - on speaking tours advocating for space tourism?

  34. All in all - it makes sense that "NASA" would focus on exciting the imagination of children and impressing beliefs upon them. What "normal person" isn't excited about Mars and being an "inter-planetary" species?

  36. I wonder how long "NASA" and "SpaceX" can avoid and delay the reality of "space tourism". I do expect that something in the next few years will happen (perhaps on the "ISS") that causes "space flight/tourism" to be deemed "unsafe"/"unsuitable" for the population and no longer an option for everyday people.
