Dear Speaker Pelosi,
Let's please get started on an Impeachment Inquiry ASAP.

I feel under high stress (as you probably do, too) as our democracy slips away to an autocratic president who has blown off public truth-telling, press oversight, judges, and now Congressional oversight and has a loyalist attorney general who places him above the law.

If we don't start an Impeachment Inquiry soon enough, I fear it sets a dangerous precedent for presidential abuse of power.

We must start an Inquiry, whether or not it leads to removal in the Senate, to make the facts visible and to give Americans hope that truth, integrity, rule of law, and democracy still mean something.

The president is a national security risk. He refuses to protect the country's critical elections infrastructure from foreign sabotage or even admit the Russian attacks on U.S. elections infrastructure and on voters' brains. His corrupt financial entanglements with Russia, video kompromat, and probable Russian bailouts and money laundering also give Putin dangerous leverage over the president. CO₂ levels are now up to 415 ppm and yet the president is doing the opposite of protecting us from climate catastrophe.

Given Trump’s lies about election rigging and election integrity, his powers to pardon and declare martial law, and behaving like an unchecked autocrat, what happens if he refuses to leave office, as his own lawyer Michael Cohen feared in testimony?

Please start an Impeachment Inquiry right away.
