ESCAPE part 1

This was the 5th of May. The wind howled in the midday sun. A lizard scuttled across a nearby wall. One lone cloud rushed across the sky, giving no relief from the blazing sun. I was blindfolded and handcuffed, ready to be executed by the Foundation, as they called themselves.

I had killed a few people, and was sentenced to be hung by the neck until dead, may God have mercy on my soul. The night before the rope, I got an offer, a chance to live a month longer, which I gladly accepted. The offer involved testing some clock that distorts time; I don't remember exactly what it was called. My sense of time was never the same after.
