- >Afternoon 3 in Canterlot.
- >As the moonlight begins to shine brighter, reflecting Luna's elated mood, you can't help but chuckle.
- >You are asleep, on your way to Canterlot.
- >During this time, Princess Luna thought it would be a good idea to visit your dreams again and talk.
- >What started as a series of questions between you two has turned into simple small talk.
- >”Then the colt told us we were his favorite Princess ever! Ahh, twas a most wonderful night.”
- “Hehe, sounds like. Glad they got over the Nightmare Moon stuff. It wasn't entirely your fault anyway.
- >Rubbing your arm, you can somewhat relate to what the princess went through.
- >Not nearly to that extent, but at least partial.
- “Sometimes jealousy can make people do... stupid things.”
- >The tall mare looks to you, concerned.
- >”You speak of this as if you have experienced it... pray tell Anonymous, have you experienced a similar situation?”
- “It's nothing Princess, compared to yours anyway.”
- >She is not satisfied with this answer.
- >”Tis not nothing Anonymous, we have experienced jealousy as well and know that the feelings are not -nothing-.”
- >You groan and rub your temples with one hand.
- “It was just a simple thing. I was jealous because of a girl. It's stupid.”
- >”Oh... we see, well, matters of love are most confusing... we are sure what you did was reasonable at the time.”
- >No, it really wasn't, but the answer you gave satisfied her curiosity.
- “You know the feeling then? You've liked someone Princess?”
- >The dark blue Alicorn blushes and looks away.
- >”Twas a long time ago Anonymous, but yes... we did.”
- >Her blushing cheeks return to their normal blue shade, a frown forming upon her lips.
- “Immortality... I'm sorry Princess.”
- >”Do not be, there was nothing that could have been done.”
- >You want to console her, but that familiar sensation of an earthquake is starting.
- “Guess this is goodbye for now. It was nice talking with you Princess.”
- >The mare gives a weak smile and nods.
- >”Indeed, we look forward to our next meeting Anonymous. Farewell.”
- >She once again starts to fizzle into static as the world around you turns white.
- >”-ake your belongings with you as you exit the train. I say again, all passengers please take your belongings as you exit the train.”
- >You groan and stretch.
- “Good nap...”
- >'No, naps don't have dreams. You slept.'
- 'Right, so what'd I miss?'
- >'Nothing much, just some passengers talking about throwing you off the train if you try something. Typical fear of -aliems- talk. You know, since we are aliem.'
- >You sigh and stand, grabbing your two bags with you.
- 'Sounds... nice.'
- >'Like being thrown into a barrel of piranhas. Vicious, angry, flesh-tearing piranhas. So, what did the blue Unicorn/Pegasaus girl have to say?”
- 'She has a name you know.'
- >'So does the Queen of England, but you don't see me calling her by it.'
- >You groan as you step off the train.
- 'Well LUNA and I just talked for a bit, asked each other questions, stuff like that. Also, she's an Alicorn.'
- >'What's that?'
- 'It's a mix of all three of the pony races, apparently being an Alicorn makes you royalty since the only three she talked about were all Princesses.'
- >'So her sister is one too?'
- 'Yep.'
- >A gulping sound followed by some rattling grabs your attention.
- >”S-Sir, I am going to have to ask you to step off the platform now. Y-You're scaring the ponies trying to enter.”
- >You turn to the conductor next to you.
- >He is shaking like a leaf while pointing to the group of ponies in front of you.
- >They look a lot more dressed up than the ponies you have seen so far.
- >'Most of them actually have some clothes on. Kinda odd.'
- >Turning back to the stallion, you raise your hand a bit and apologize.
- “Sorry sir.”
- >You exit the station and can hear a collective sigh coming from the platform.
- >'Okay, so what did you two talk about?'
- 'Not much, just shared some stories.'
- >You are about to start conversing with your brain again, but are brought back to reality by a deep cough.
- >”I take it you are the visitor from another world we are expecting.”
- >A masculine dark beige elder stallion steps in front of you.
- >He has on a butler suit, a grey mane, and looks quite annoyed.
- “That would be me sir. May I ask who you are?”
- >”I am a servant to the royal family and have been sent to chaperone you to the castle, as to avoid a situation of the mobish sort.”
- >'Not much of a royal body guard...'
- 'He's a butler.'
- “Nice to meet you -A servant to the royal family-, ready whenever you are to head to the castle.”
- >The stallion groans and turns away from you, walking towards the huge castle in the distance.
- >”My name is not -A servant- it is my title, or are such names common from your world?”
- >'... Hehe, he thinks that there is a better chance of someone from your world being named that instead of someone from here. That's cute.'
- 'While it's true Earth isn't as punny, we do get some pretty weird names. Honey Booboo...'
- >'Oooh, low blow.'
- >Following the stallion, you catch a sight of the city every now and again.
- “No, I figured since there seems to be a pattern of names that just happen to match a ponies job... well.”
- >The stallion gives a forced and stale laugh.
- >”How quaint. You are the FIRST to have picked up on such a thing! I shall see to it you are rewarded for your observational skills.”
- >Furrowing your brow, you maintain your pace.
- “So ponies are aware that their names just -happen- to match the job they are goin to take?”
- >”Indeed, whether it be magic or mere fate; a ponies' name usually signifies their role in the future. Even our own royalty bends to this rule or force.”
- >You hum and nod.
- “So, if your name is not -A servant-, what is it?”
- >”None of your concern.”
- >'Jeez, are old people pissy everywhere?'
- 'Granny Smith wasn't.'
- >You close the distance between the two of you, but not by much.
- “Well how am I supposed to thank you for escorting me if I don't know your name?”
- >”... My name is Baked Muffintop and no, I have never baked in my entire life.”
- “Ah, parents then?”
- >The elder pony sighs and let his head drop.
- >”Yes, they were bakers. I did not wish to be shoehorned into a career because of my name.”
- >He does not add anything after that sentence.
- >No backstory or explanation.
- “Sooo, that's why you were so jaded with your response on the name/job thing?”
- >Raising his head again, his speech changes to a more stern tone.
- >”Yes. I find it positively foolish to just accept a position because of your name. It would be as if to accept your death simply because it is written ahead of time. We have free will, we must use it.”
- >You nod and walk to now stand beside the stallion.
- “That's a good philosophy to have.”
- >He smirks a bit and chuckles smugly.
- >”If only more ponies could see that.”
- 'Sensible pony.'
- >'Too bad he uses vinegar with his meetings.'
- >He sighs, tone once again changing, this one more warm.
- >”I apologize if I seemed rude before. It gets tiresome, greeting royal guests.”
- “I can imagine. Blue blooded with their noses hung high?”
- >”And powder caked on thick enough to be confused for confections.”
- >You two share a chuckle this time.
- “So, what are the Princesses like? Should I be scared?”
- >”Not so long as you are a being without harmful intentions. You are without harmful intentions, correct?”
- >You shake your head.
- “I am not looking to hurt anybody; pony or otherwise. Just trying to figure out why I am here.”
- >”Very good then.”
- >The walk is calm, most of the ponies in the street are too absorbed in their own business to care that a near six foot alien is walking through their city.
- >Muffin has taken your bags and left you in front of two large doors, he said the Princesses were inside.
- 'How am I supposed to open these?'
- >'... Knock?'
- >Without much choice, you bring your hand up and rap it against the large door.
- >*Knock Knock Knock*
- >The noise rings for a few moments before the doors start to open at a snail's pace.
- >'Cool, but impractical.'
- >Once both impressive frames are fully open you step inside.
- >There is a large gap between you and two thrones.
- >'Probably shouldn't yell. First impressions are important.'
- >Taking the advice, you start to walk down the long rug connecting the thrones to the door.
- >Guards line both of your sides as you step.
- >What feels like hundreds of eyes on you, waiting for you to trip up.
- >Luckily for them you do just that.
- >Your body falls forward, face about to meet the carpet in a very personal encounter.
- >*Crack*
- >You twist to your side and grab your face, writhing in pain.
- “Jesus fuck! Agh, ow OW!”
- >Three of the guards rush to your side, helping you up.
- >”Do you need a doctor?”
- >'Heh, that must have looked hilarious. What did you even trip on?'
- >Nothing.
- >You tripped on nothing.
- >A quick survey shows a few of the guards are trying not to laugh.
- >Even the Princesses are biting their tongues.
- “No thank you, I'm fine. Just tripped.”
- >Groaning, you rub your face and continue the walk, nose bruised and cheeks sore.
- >Giggles and chuckles escape the guards as you pass, nearing the thrones.
- >A white Alicorn with a flowing strange rainbow-like mane is looking at you, smiling and giggling.
- >Luna is beside her, looking more empathetic to your pain.
- >”H-heh, that wa-*cough* was quite an entrance.”
- >You assume she is Celestia since you are already acquainted with Luna.
- “Yeah, I try to avoid those whenever possible your highness.”
- >Celestia composes herself and sighs, still smiling.
- >”Yes, well. Welcome to Canterlot. I am Princess Celestia, may I ask who you are?”
- “Anonymous, your highness.”
- >She nods, a warm smile adorning her lips.
- >”Anonymous, well, my sister and I welcome you. My faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, told me you wish to return home?”
- >As much as you want to push it off, you should get back to Earth as soon as possible.
- “That's right. Is there any way you may be able to help?”
- >The Alicorn presses her hoof to her chin.
- >”Sadly, this is a first time for us. We have never had a visitor from another world. The best we could do is try and see if you were brought here by some sort of spell and attempt to duplicate it. We will need to run some tests first. Will this be okay with you, Anonymous?”
- >'Looks like we'll be heading home soon.'
- 'Yeah... Why isn't Luna saying anything?'
- >The blue mare is watching you and Celestia speak, as if not a participant and simply an observer.
- >'Dunno. Maybe she doesn't want you to go?'
- >”Anonymous?”
- >Drawing your attention back to Celestia, you blink a couple times.
- “Huh?”
- >”You were focusing on something Anonymous. Are you okay?”
- >You shake your head and rub your temples.
- “Just tired I guess. This is a lot to take in after all.”
- >”I understand... do you wish to see a doctor? In fact, it would probably be best if you did before we attempted any tests.”
- >'She seems motherly. Think she is like this with all her subjects?
- 'I don't know.'
- >You nod a couple times before putting your hand down and looking to the royal mare.
- “All right. So... should I see one now or...?”
- >The smiling Princess giggles and nods.
- >”I would recommend it, we can speak more later after all.”
- “All right... It was nice meeting you both, have a good day.”
- >Two guards step to your side and lead you out.
- >'Anon, I probably don't need to tell you this but... please don't mention I exist to the doctors. They might think you are insane and try to study you. A -prolonged- study.'
- 'Wasn't planning to. Why are you asking now?'
- >'Well, doctors usually ask for this kind of stuff. Voices in the head and all that fun stuff. I just want to make sure I'm not in any danger of... well...'
- 'Relax, brain. If anyone asks, I am just remembering what it was like back home.'
- >'Thanks. So, what should we do when we get back?'
- >You don't get to answer, abruptly stopped by a hoof.
- >”We're here.”
- >The guards stop you in front of a room.
- >They open it and lead you inside.
- >”The Princesses want this creature looked over. Report anything unusual immediately.”
- >There are two ponies sitting at a desk, looking over some documents.
- >A mare and stallion.
- >The mare nods.
- >”Understood, you can leave him with us.”
- >The guards close the door.
- >”So, do you have a name?”
- >'Now to tell if we are dealing with professionals or creeps!'
- “Anonymous.”
- >The stallion pulls out a clipboard with a chart attached, while the mare grabs a stethoscope and device used to measure blood pressure.
- >”All right; race, country of- err.”
- >He looks over the chart and crosses out whatever cannot be applicable to you.
- >”... Race?”
- “Human.”
- >He nods and sets the chart down.
- >'Wow, that is saaad.'
- >”Take off your clothes sir.”
- >'Professionals?'
- “Uh, do you have a gown I can wear or something?”
- >The stallion opens a cabinet and pulls out a large gown.
- >”A child sized Minotaur's should do. If not, we'll up you to adult.”
- >The mare sets up several other instruments while the stallion hands you the gown.
- >You strip down to your boxers and put the gown on.
- >”Okay, I'm going to need you to turn your head and cough.”
- >'Okay, they're creeps.'
- >This has been the most awkward check up you have ever had.
- >The feeling of hooves against skin is not pleasant.
- >”All right, everything seems... well we at least have numbers to work with.”
- “Can I go now?”
- >The mare sighs and puts away the blood and urine samples.
- >”You have asked that five times already Mr. Anonymous. The answer is still no.”
- >'You would ask too if you had hooves running over your balls woman!'
- >The mare sits down and hums as she looks over your results.
- >”These numbers seem to coincide with a young minotaur. Perhaps we should compare there first?”
- >The stallion shakes his head.
- >”No, we need a sample closer to his age. Perhaps some pony or griffon men.”
- >They continue to debate while you redress, hands and legs shaking.
- >'That was... interesting.'
- 'Shut up.'
- >Just as you finish tying your shoes, you hear a slam on the desk.
- >”Eureka!”
- >You look back and see the stallion smiling.
- “What?”
- >”The answer is so obvious, we-... er, we found a way to compare your results.”
- >The mare coughs and looks down.
- >”You can go now Mr. Anonymous. We'll let the Princesses know of our findings later.”
- >You don't argue and just leave.
- >Two guards come up next to you.
- >”Are they finished with you?”
- “I think so.”
- >”Good, move.”
- >They push you, forcing you to walk alongside them.
- 'Are these the same guards as before?'
- >'I can't tell, they all look the same.'
- >You look over the two guards and your brain is right.
- >Like two exact copies.
- >Further ahead are two more.
- >Copies.
- >You pay attention to each guard you pass.
- >Same exact look.
- >Small differences every now and again; like eye color and mane, but the overall physique is near exact.
- 'That's creepy.'
- >'Maybe they're all twins?'
- '…'
- >'What? It's possible.'
- 'Magic. Has got to be magic.'
- >'Anon, you're slowing down. Pay attention.'
- >You look ahead and are about to enter some sort of laboratory.
- >It is filled with several unicorns wearing lab coats and goggles.
- >One of the guards jerks his head towards you.
- >”Princess Celestia has ordered this creature be put under several tests.”
- >'Hold it, I thought they wanted to wait until after you were better.'
- 'Guess not.'
- >”The list will be coming shortly of all tests to be run. Finish as many as you can by this evening then dismiss him.”
- >One of the Unicorns nods.
- >”Understood, is there anything else?”
- >”Yes, the Princess wants him in one piece. ALIVE. Don't get overly curious.”
- 'What?!'
- >'Okay, I want to go back to the doctors.'
- >”Three. Two. One!”
- >You cringe as you are hit with multiple spells at once.
- >'More you insane fuckers! Haha, more!'
- >You are now floating an inch or two off the ground while hiccuping smoke and seeing everything through what feels like green tinted glasses/.
- >'Whoaaaaa!'
- >”All right, now for the test pony.”
- >An earth pony opposite you is hit with the same spells.
- >He is now airborne, burping flames as his pupil and eyeball turn green..
- >”I think that's all we need for now. It should be safe to assume that humans have a high resistance to spells of all natures.”
- >The past few hours you have grown a couple inches, shrank the same amount, had your skin change shades, gotten a little hairier, and so many other things.
- >Several earth ponies have grown to double their size, become as small as mice, had entire palette swaps, become fluffy, and everything you have had but done to much higher extents.
- >All to prove without a shadow of a doubt that you can resist spells.
- 'What is wrong with these ponies?'
- >'I don't know, but they need to stay this way! How are you not enjoying this?'
- 'My body is not a play thing!'
- >You sigh and wait for the secondary wave of spells to undo whatever has been done.
- >”Three. Two. One!”
- >Another cringe and you are back to normal.
- “Are we done here?”
- >”Yeah. We have more than enough data to work with for the day. See you tomorrow Anonymous!”
- >You grumble and shake your head, still seeing dots of green.
- >As you step out of the lab, two guards shove you.
- >”Let's go.”
- >A heavy sigh is your only reply.
- >'You okay buddy?'
- 'This has not been a good day for me. Weird doctors visit, my body has been through so much weird shit, and I haven't eaten anything all day.'
- >'Come on. You have to admit the spells were fun!'
- 'For you. I had to feel that crap happen!'
- >The guards shove you into a room.
- >”If you have to use the bathroom, there's one attached to the side.”
- >The door shuts and you are left in the dark room.
- “... I can't see in here! Pricks...”
- >The lights come on and three earth pony mares in maid costumes are in front of you.
- >In unison they call out.
- >”Welcome Anonymous.”
- >'Okay, I've seen enough hentai to know where this is going.'
- 'Brain!'
- “Hi, can I help you?”
- >The one closest to you shakes her head.
- >”No, we are here to help you. Should you need anything please feel free to ask for one of my sisters or I.”
- >'I. Have seen. Enough hentai. To know. Where this is going.'
- 'Not going to fuck a horse!'
- “Well, I think I am good. So you can leave if-”
- >Your stomach groans and you grab it.
- “... Is there anything to eat?”
- >”What would you like sir?'
- “... Sandwich and soup?”
- >”Coming right up!”
- >The three sisters leave, walking for the kitchen.
- >'Awww, that is so cute. Seriously, ponies in maid costumes? Dawww.'
- >You sigh and look around the room.
- >It is quite large.
- >A bed that should fit you, wardrobe that seems like you could stuff your clothes in, bathroom adjoined to the room.
- >There is even a large balcony.
- >You flop on the bed and relax, letting your used body calm.
- >”Dinner is ready~”
- >You bring your head up and the three girls are back.
- >”You didn't specify what kind of sandwich or soup you wanted so we brought several.”
- >”Bon Apetit~”
- >They line up from tallest to shortest and lay three long platters on your bed.
- >The selection is quite large.
- >You count at least five sandwiches and nine soups.
- “Thanks... uh”
- >They each bow and sound off from tallest to shortest.
- >”I'm Silk.”
- >”I'm Shine.”
- >”And I am Sweep.”
- >They each smile and stand.
- >'They seem friendly.'
- 'Kind of like Lyra.'
- >You look each sister over to try and memorize them so you won't embarrass yourself later.
- >Silk has long red hair and blue eyes.
- >Shine has short red hair and green eyes.
- >Sweep has her hair done into pigtails with white freckles.
- >Each sister is a shade of olive.
- “Thank you all for the meal...s. You wouldn't happen to know where the Princesses are, would you?”
- >Silk nods and pulls out a letter from a pocket in the front of her uniform.
- >'How... no hands. How is she holding it?'
- 'Considering everything that has just happened, THAT is what you are questioning?'
- >”Princess Celestia gave us this letter to give you after you have dismissed us. Will you be needing anything else?”
- “Yeah, I came in with two bags. Do you happen to know what-”
- >Sweep interrupts.
- >”Ah! Mr. Top brought them here ahead of time. We unpacked them into the wardrobes when Princess Luna assigned us to you.”
- >'So it was Luna who gave you the maids. Hoofpicked?'
- 'I'll ask her if I speak to her.'
- “Thanks, I guess that's all I'll need.”
- >Silk nods and leads her sisters out.
- >”We'll see you in the morning sir.”
- >The door closes behind them and you are alone in the room.
- >Your hunger is making the already invigorating scent in the room seem heavenly.
- >You can't help but try a bit of everything.
- >Once you have had your fill, you open the letter.
- >It says; “Dear Anonymous, I apologize if anything you had to go through today made you feel uncomfortable. I will try to talk to you personally soon, there is much we need to discuss. I hope you enjoyed Luna's gift for your stay here. It is not every guest who receives personal attention from not one, but three of our maids. I must also ask that you stay within the castle for the first few days, until all of the primary testing is done. Thank you in advance for understanding. Princess Celestia.”
- >'Why does she want you to stay in the castle?'
- 'Too tired to care. I'll care tomorrow, when I wake up.'
- >You put the letter on the nightstand next to the bed and undress.
- >Your body has been through a lot today.
- >Sleep comes easy as you lay down on the soft mattress.
- >You are on top of Big Ben.
- >At least you think it is Big Ben.
- >You don't know that many clock-towers.
- >”So this is your world? It seems much more... cozy than we imagined.”
- >You turn and see the Princess of the night.
- “Nice to see you too.”
- >The mare walks next to you and lays herself on the building.
- >”Is something the matter Anonymous?”
- >You take a deep breath and sigh.
- “I don't know. I think it had something to do with my body being touched and used in ways I would never have wanted to happen. That's too easy though.”
- >The city below you is empty, devoid of any sign of life.
- “... I don't want to go home yet Princess.”
- >”Then do not return yet. You are not being rushed Anonymous.”
- >You sigh and grab a loose rock, tossing it into the city.
- “I am though. I don't know how much time is passing in my world. It could be a one to one thing where one day here is a day there, or I could have been gone for three months already! I... I may not want to go back as soon as possible, but I have to.”
- >Luna nods and hums softly.
- >”We understand. We will do the best we can to aid you Anonymous.”
- >You two sit in silence for a bit before you feel the need to ask.
- “Why did you not talk during the meeting?”
- >Luna meets your eyes and speaks with conviction.
- >”Anonymous, our sister does not know we have already met with you. We have just barely earned her trust again... we do not want her to think we are going around her back. We are sorry for not speaking with you when we had the chance, but you understand why we did not, correct?”
- >The clock-tower starts to go off, reaching the start of the hour.
- >You wait for it to subside before answering.
- “I do. Trust between siblings is hard to earn back, I get it. I don't get why you assigned me maids though, what's up with that?”
- >Luna chuckles and joins you in looking at the horizon.
- >”We thought you could use some company since most of our subjects have been less than accepting of your arrival. The sisters have dealt with other species their entire lives, we knew they would not be afraid of an alien being such as yourself. They are also eager to serve the royal family in any way possible, as a royal guest you are letting them live their dream by simply letting them aid you.”
- “You seem to know an awful lot about three random servants...”
- >Luna giggles and shakes her head.
- >”They are not random to us Anonymous. We were there when they arrived. They would have been sent home if not for our interference. We took a liking to them, three siblings who showed nothing but love and compassion towards each other. They reminded us of better times. In truth, they are our favorite servants, and now we are temporarily parting with them so they may aid you.”
- >You smile and look over to the blue mare.
- “Thanks, That's sweet.”
- >”You are welcome Anonymous.”
- >The Princess and you enjoy each others company for the rest of your dream.
- >She is more innocent and selfless than you would imagine from royalty.
- >As you two talk, the world starts to fade into white.
- “I'm waking up.”
- >”We know. Have a good day Anonymous, we shall see you soon.”
- >Day 4 in Equestria.
- >The sound of a gentle flute is filling the room.
- >It is loud enough to stir you from your sleep, but not loud enough to do so jarringly.
- “Mmm, hello?”
- >”Hello sir.”
- >It's one of the sisters.
- >You open your eyes and start to make out which one it is.
- >A set of pigtails and freckles let you know it is Sweep.
- “Morning Sweep. *Yawn*”
- >”Good morning Anonymous.”
- >'Morning sleeping beauty.'
- 'Morning Maleficent.'
- >'Hurtful. You're hurtful Anon.'
- >You scratch your head and look around.
- >Shine is setting up breakfast and Silk is ironing your clothes.
- >'Seriously, how are they doing that?'
- >You stretch and stand.
- “What time is it?”
- >”Nearly eight. You are needed in the magical studies laboratory in an hour.
- >'Fun!'
- 'Hell...'
- >You let out a heavy sigh and redress.
- >Your breakfast is nice, which will hopefully make whatever is planned for the day seem easier.
- >Laying on a metal slab, you grit your teeth and kick up and down as electricity runs through your body.
- “Stop, STOP!”
- >The electrical current from the Unicorns' stop, allowing you to breathe.
- >”Did you record all that?”
- >Several nods are shared between the ponies and they all congratulate each other.
- >”It would seem that naturally occurring elements will hit him at normal force, but magical ones will only have an approximate twenty percent effective range.”
- “Did we not establish this yesterday!?”
- >The ponies shake their heads.
- >”No, we established you had a RESISTANCE to magic. We hadn't tried anything naturally occurring.”
- >'You all right?'
- 'I just got shocked TWICE! What do you think?!'
- >You groan and pull yourself up.
- >The ground feels weak, shakey.
- >No, wait, that's your legs.
- >You are now flat on your ass.
- “How much longer do we have to do this?”
- >”Three hours.”
- >You bang your head back and let out an exasperated groan.
- >'If it helps, I'm not having fun anymore.'
- >Day 10 in Equestria.
- >You've been here long enough that you now have an established schedule.
- >Wake up, the triple S sisters are there to make your morning great.
- >Their efforts are ruined by the jerks at the lab.
- >They shoot you with magic for a few hours.
- >Lunch follows the first session of magic shooting, occasionally you speak with Muffintop.
- >He seems to have taken a liking to you since he sneaks you baked goods from a shop in town.
- >After lunch it's back to the hell that is the magic lab.
- >The torture continues until the evening, where you are dismissed and are sent to your room.
- >The sisters try to console you and make the evening calm.
- >It doesn't work.
- >You are too tired from the tests to do anything.
- >You fall asleep and spend your dream time speaking with Luna.
- >She tries to explain the progress made with the tests.
- >It gives you some solace.
- >Then you wake up and repeat this cycle.
- >You still have not spoken with Celestia since the first day.
- >It is starting to feel like you are a toy to these ponies, a thing to be used without any thought given to your well being.
- >Day 12 in Equestria.
- >This morning feels different, lacking.
- >You grunt and open your eyes as the sunlight outside fills the room.
- >It is quiet.
- >None of the sisters are here.
- >'What time is it?'
- 'I don't know... did I wake up early or something?'
- >You step out of bed and get dressed.
- >The lack of noise is unnerving, the castle is normally vibrant and lacking in utter silence.
- >You move to the door.
- >As you turn the handle and push to open it, it is forced back.
- >”You aren't allowed to leave today.”
- >A stallion is holding the door against the frame from outside.
- “Wha-why not?”
- >”No testing is needed and you do not have permission to leave the castle. Until one of those changes, you're under house arrest.”
- >'Are all royal guests forced to stay if the Princesses order it?'
- 'No, but a royal guinea pig is.'
- >You slam a fist against the door and walk back to bed.
- >A sigh escapes your lips as you lay on top of the bed in silence.
- >'... I'm bored.'
- 'What do you want me to do about it?'
- >'You could read one of the books Twilight gave you.'
- >That's right, you haven't had any free time to check them out.
- >You rush to the dresser that is holding your bat and farewell gifts.
- >Inside you find a box and a few books.
- >'We never found out what was in the box. Think it's still good?'
- >Only one way to find out.
- >You bring the books and box with you back to the bed.
- >A cautious sniff lets you know that whatever is in the box is not rotten.
- >You place your hand on the top and open it.
- >*POOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH*
- >A powerful gust of air shoots you in the face as you pull the top off.
- >You blink a few times before checking in the box.
- >It is filled with cupcakes and sweet breads.
- >They appear to have been vacuum packed for maximum freshness over a long period of time.
- >'Nom! Sweets!'
- >You grab a cupcake and take a quick bite.
- >It is lemon flavored with whipped topping and those weird sparkly sprinkles.
- >It tastes of a perfect mix between sweet and sour.
- “Oh my god...”
- >'Apples ain't got shit on these!'
- >You savor the perfect little cupcake and can feel a cheery smile find it's way to your lips.
- >Once you finish with it, you lay back and rub your belly.
- 'So small, yet so filling!'
- >'We should have cracked this box sooner!'
- >You lay your hand down and can feel the hard cover of a book underneath it.
- >A quick glance shows it's one of the Daring Do novels.
- >With nothing better to do you decide to spend some time seeing if you can get into the book.
- >'Like I thought. Ponified Indiana Jones.'
- 'Whats wrong with Indy?'
- >After a couple chapters you deem the book worthy of a read.
- >You have finished two of the novels Twilight gave you and are now working on a third.
- >The sound of your humming rings through the room.
- >”Enjoying yourself Anonymous?”
- >You set the book down and see Celestia is standing at the door.
- “I'm not getting experimented on, so yeah.”
- >She giggles and walks over to you.
- >”I do apologize for my students enthusiasm. They like to be thorough.”
- >'Thorough to a fault.'
- >The white Alicorn is now next to you, looking into your box.
- >”Oh, minicakes? May I have one?”
- >You shrug and lift the box.
- “Take your pick.”
- >She magically lifts a red velvet cake slice and takes a generous bite from it.
- >She swallows and lets out a content sigh
- >”Mmm, delicious. Who did you say baked these?”
- “A mare by the name of Pinkie Pie in Ponyville.”
- >Celestia giggles and takes another bite.
- >”Now then Anonymous, I am not here just to steal your sweets. I have some exciting news.”
- >'Are they done? Are we heading home?'
- “What is it?”
- >”We have gathered enough data to start searching for a way to return you home! It will take some time to be certain if we can even attempt to, but we finally have a starting point.”
- >Almost nine days of experiments and they just barely started to figure out if you can head home.
- >You don't know if your body can take much more of this.
- >”Don't look so glum, the tests are over. All you have to do now is relax and wait for our final results. Starting from tomorrow onwards, you will be allowed off the castle grounds.”
- >'For realsies?'
- “You're serious?”
- >”Well, you will need a chaperone the first few days. But yes, I am serious.”
- >The mare smiles and wraps a wing over your shoulder.
- >”I hope my students did not ruin ponies for you. Most of my species isn't so... quirky.”
- >'Quirky isn't the word I would use to describe them.'
- “It's fine. Not like I will be shot at with more magic, right? … Right?”
- >Celestia giggles again and pulls her wing back, heading for the door.
- >”Yes, you're safe from the curious shots from my students.”
- >Once she is out of your room, you let out a sigh of relief.
- “Oh thank god.”
- >'So, we finally get to leave the castle. What should we do first? See the sights? Catch a show?'
- 'Get ready to leave.'
- >'What, why?'
- 'We're not going to be here long. It wouldn't be smart to get used to things here.'
- >'Treat it like a vacation then! Like if you were visiting another country. Enjoy it while you're here.'
- >A few moments of consideration is all it takes for your brain's suggestion to stick.
- 'Okay. So I'm on vacation in a land filled with magic and talking ponies. What should I do?'
- >'... Catch a show? Think about it, a magic show with actual magic! How many people can say they've seen that?'
- 'Not many. I'll think about it later, right now though...'
- >You pick up the Daring Do novel and continue from where you left off.
- >The spring breeze feels cool against your skin.
- >You are sitting on a hill as fireworks fill the night.
- >”What festival is this Anonymous?”
- >You sigh and pat a spat next to you.
- “Not a festival, just a light show. You can call me Anon you know, I'm pretty sure we've passed the point where all these formalities are just a hassle.”
- >The Princess of the night lays next to you, eyes skyward.
- >”Very well Anon. You may also refer to us as Luna.”
- >You nod as a large series of the rockets go off, lighting up the sky.
- >”Marvelous!”
- >Luna claps her hooves together, looking up at the dream fireworks, their reflection shines off her eyes.
- >She's like a child, taking joy in the simple things.
- “Luna, did your sister tell you yet?”
- >The blue mare takes her gaze off the dancing sparks and casts it on you.
- >”She has not mentioned anything. Is there something we should be made aware of?”
- >You nod and look to the sky, trying to see if you can feel the same childish joy your companion did.
- “She says that they are done running tests and are going to start trying to find a way for me to go home. I am allowed to leave the castle now.”
- >”We see... We enjoyed your company Anon. Has a date been set for your return?”
- >You shake your head as another round of fireworks goes off.
- >The sudden explosion causes your heart to race, forcing a childlike giggle to run up your throat.
- “Heh, n-not yet. She said to just relax. I'm thinking I'll do that, treat this as a vacation.”
- >Your giggle causes Luna to follow suit, covering her muzzle with her hooves.
- >”That was quite foalish Anon. We did not think you capable of such a thing.”
- “Look whose talking. A fully grown Princess is taking joy in a simple fireworks display.”
- >Luna giggles more, evolving into a chuckle.
- >”Well, why should we not? It is a magnificent sight to behold. Even as a dream.”
- >You nod and continue to watch the sky be painted many different colors.
- “Luna, can I ask you something?”
- >”But of course Anon.”
- >This has been bothering you ever since your first encounter with ponies.
- “Your species... do you think they could ever accept a human?”
- >She looks at you quizzically
- >”Why do you ask this now Anon?”
- “Between the treatment from the citizens of Ponyville and the guards... It's making me wonder if my species would do the same.”
- >Her expression seems empathetic, but firm.
- >”Anon, our species is very comfortable with consistency. The royal family has spoiled them in this way, tried to keep them as safe as possible. Please forgive them, many know not what they do.”
- >You sigh and nod.
- >How can you blame a species so set in their ways for being wary of a creature they know nothing about?
- “So it's not likely then.”
- >Luna does not answer.
- >”It is possible. We have many species similar to humans. With time, they may come to understand that we are not so different.”
- “Aside from the gap in technology and lack of magic.”
- >Your joke earns you a soft laugh from Luna.
- >”Yes Anon, aside from that.”
- >You smile and enjoy the rest of the show, thoughts of what lies beyond filling your mind.
- >Day Exploring in Equestria
- >”Keep up Anonymous! It is not far now.”
- >You are following Muffintop, trying to keep up with the speedy elder stallion.
- >'Damn, this grandpa can hustle!'
- “How are you able to walk so fast?”
- >He chuckles smugly
- >”A daily regiment of long walks taken as quickly as possible. Being a servant is no easy task Anonymous.”
- >You groan and sprint next to him when you have enough space.
- “Why won't you tell me where we're going?”
- >His smug smirk is replaced with a stoic frown.
- >”Would you rather we turn back now?”
- >'You were lucky to get someone who likes you as a chaperone, best not to piss him off.'
- “No, just seems weird that my first day in the city starts off with a surprise.”
- >”Well I am a weird pony, now aren't I?”
- >You two head down an alley, avoiding the public eye.
- >Muffintop stops you in front of a door.
- >'We're not going to get jumped, are we?'
- >”Wait here a moment, I shall return soon.”
- “Okay, but what if-”
- >He opens and quickly shuts the door.
- “... Somepony comes by.”
- >You are left alone in the cozy alley.
- >It is quite lively on the other side of the building, many voices can be heard conversing.
- >'Think anypony here cares about the aliem walking around?'
- 'Quit saying aliem.'
- >'I haven't said it in over a week!'
- >You sigh and lean against the wall.
- >The door opens again and Muffintop motions for you to enter.
- >”I hope you can appreciate this gesture.”
- “What gesture?”
- >You two walk through a hallway and enter the backroom of a bakery.
- “Is this where you have been getting the baked goods?”
- >”Indeed.'
- >A peek through a door shows that this bakery is quite popular, packed with ponies.
- >”Ah, ts ts!”
- >Muffintop pulls you back and sets you on a chair.
- >”Don't make yourself seen, I don't wish for my parents business to be shut down due to bad publicity.”
- “Wait, your parents work here?”
- >Muffintop sighs and looks down.
- >”Worked. They are no longer with us. It belongs to my brother and his wife now.”
- “Why did you bring me here?”
- >”I thought it would be a good idea for my family to meet you. They have been curious ever since they heard an alien beast was walking within our city.”
- >Muffintop moves to the door you were peaking out of and motions for someone to enter.
- >It only takes a moment for a shorter, lighter beige pony similar to Muffintop to enter.
- >He is followed by a dark pink mare with a purple mane.
- >The shorter sibling whistles and nods.
- >”Here I thought you were pulling my leg when you said you knew the beast. Does it speak?”
- >'... Not even a minute in and I already prefer Muffintop.'
- 'Technically they're both Muffintop.'
- “Yes, I can speak. I can also take offense to being called a beast.”
- >The pink mare coughs and nods.
- >”Sorry, my husband didn't mean to offend. Did you honey?”
- >The stallion just chuckles and rubs the back of his head.
- >”Right, sorry sir. We hardly get anything besides ponies I sometimes forget to mind my manners. I'm Toasted, Toasted Muffintop. This is my wife Lil Muffintop.”
- >The mare smiles and nods.
- >”It's nice to meet you sir.”
- “Likewise.”
- >Baked pulls out an old pot and fills it with water.
- >”We'll be here for a while, I'll put on some tea while you two handle your lunch crowd.”
- >The shorter stallions chuckles and nods.
- >”All right, see you in a few Baked.”
- >”We'll be here, Toasted.”
- >With that, Toasted and Lil return to the hectic bakery.
- “So, why did you bring me here again?”
- >Baked puts the water to boil and pulls out a box of instant teabags.
- >”I told you, I wanted you to meet my family.”
- “But why?”
- >Baked sighs and sits next to you.
- >”In truth, I hardly leave the castle. All those baked goods were brought in from one of the errand boys. I communicate with Toasted through the mail. I wanted to see my little brother, it's been years and the opportunity presented itself when I had the chance to chaperone you around the city. I apologize for using you Anonymous.”
- >'Wow, that's kind of sad. Not being able to see his own brother while they live in the same city.'
- “It's fine, but you said I should appreciate this gesture. This seems more like a gift to you than me.”
- >He chuckles and raises an eyebrow.
- >”Think about it for a moment Anonymous. Your chaperone is now in your debt. Meaning you will be able to go wherever you wish with his consent. It will be as if you have no chaperone at all.”
- >'Ahhh, we let him see his brother and he lets us free roam the city.'
- “If you want, we could make this a daily thing while I'm here.”
- >Baked gives a soft smile and nods.
- >”I'd like that.”
- >You spent the afternoon with Baked's brother and wife in their bakery.
- >They treated you to some free bread and tea
- > They didn't discriminate against you, at least Lil and Baked did not.
- >Toasted had the occasional slip of tongue, nothing large though.
- >After a couple hours, you and the elder stallion said your goodbye's to his family.
- >Baked kept to his word and is letting you go wherever you wish.
- >The only problem is that you have no idea what would be interesting to visit.
- >In the end, you spent the whole day just walking around doing nothing.
- >You are now making your way back to the castle.
- >”Honestly, if you wished to know of any point of interest, you should have asked, Anonymous.”
- “Didn't think too. I was just glad that nothing magical was being flung my way. Which way do we turn?”
- >”We turn left here. While that is a reasonable answer, we could have spent the day far better. If you wish; I cou-”
- >Baked stops speaking and shifts his head right.
- “Baked?”
- >”Shh.”
- >'What's he hear?'
- >You shut your mouth and listen with intent.
- >”... ~ ~ ~ ~”
- >There is the faint sound of music traveling through the air.
- >It sounds like a stringed instrument.
- >”Whoever it is has too tight of a grip on their bow. It is coming out much too harsh.”
- “Really? Sounds okay to me.”
- >Baked gives you an unamused look.
- >”If this pony is performing here, then they do not need to be -okay-. They need to be awe inspiring and need to want to be tear inducing. Anything less and they shall not succeed.”
- >The music stops and the sounds of a voice rampaging is heard.
- >”Poor pony. The stress of needing to impress high society... A poison I am all too familiar with.”
- >You sigh and rub the back of your head.
- “Think we should find them? See if they can't use some help?”
- >Baked shakes his head.
- >”We have not the time to dilly dally Anonymous.”
- >You sigh again and continue to walk. The voice soon stops as you make your way to the castle.
- >Day Talent in Equestria.
- >”Anonymous!”
- >Baked yells through the dark alleyway, in hopes of finding you.
- >”Damnation... Anonymous! Present yourself this instant!”
- >You and Baked have spent the last four days trying to find ways for you to enjoy the city.
- >However the citizens of Canterlot treated you much like the citizens of Ponyville.
- >Once it was clear you were not being watched by some force capable of taking you down, they started to worry of a rampaging monster running through their city.
- >Needless to say, the past four days have been quite dull.
- >The only interesting point is during your walks back, when the music from the other night would fill up the streets.
- >Every night since then, it has happened.
- >Every night you asked Baked to see if he couldn't offer his advice in person to the pony.
- >He would critique them from afar, but would not budge when asked to help them.
- >You decided tonight would be different.
- >You are going to force the old stallion to offer the pony instead of judging from afar.
- >Why?
- >Because it might actually help somepony as well as entertain you from the lackluster experience you have had so far.
- >”Anonymous! We do not have the time to play your games!”
- >You continue listening for the music, making your way as close as you can to it.
- >Baked continues to search for you, hot on your trail.
- >You make your way to a makeshift lake as the moon reflects off it, the music is much clearer as you walk along it.
- >'Won't be easy to hide from him with an area this open.'
- 'Won't need to soon.'
- >The music is playing clearly through the night air, nearby.
- >You look around and can see a large violin across the fake lake.
- >Behind it is a grey mare with a long black mane, playing the large violin on her hind legs with a frustrated look on her face.
- >”Damn... damn... damn!”
- >She huffs and lets go of the instrument, laying it down before bringing her hooves to her forehead.
- >”Why! Why can I not play this stupid simple piece?!”
- >She slumps to the ground and hits her head.
- >”Why...”
- >You scratch the back of your head and whistle.
- “Excuse me?”
- >The mare looks towards you.
- >Her eyes widen and she tries to bring herself to all four of her hooves, running.
- >She leaves her violin and quickly gallops away in fear.
- >'... That could have gone better.'
- >”There you are!”
- >Baked runs up next to you, his expression shows he is livid.
- >”I expected better of you Anonymous! I believed you to be a being of respect and decency!”
- “I-”
- >”Do not interrupt! I am disappointed with your actions and will make sure that the royal guard is made aware of them! Now come, we must return immediately.”
- >You turn away from him and try to find a way across the body of water.
- >”What are you doing Anonymous? I told you that we must return to the castle. Your curfew is fast approaching.”
- “I know. I'm sorry for running off, but I want to do something first.”
- >He groans and follows you, chastising you.
- >”It does not matter what you want Anonymous, you have broken the trust I had in you to obey the few limitations I gave you.”
- “I am sorry, but the musician-”
- >”Is none of your concern, you have no need or right to get involved in this pony's personal problems.”
- >Groaning, you turn to face Baked, throwing your hand to your side.
- “She was struggling for the past few days and we did nothing! If it was a one night thing I would have let it go, but it wasn't.”
- >You find a small gap that you jump from to get to the other side about twenty feet from where you started.
- >”It matters not how long it has been Anonymous, it is their problem and we need not concern ourselves with it!”
- >You jump the gap and Baked follows.
- “How can you be so cruel Baked? This pony is struggling and you won't offer her any help even though I know you can!”
- >”How can I help?!”
- >Walking towards the abandoned violin, you give the obvious answer.
- “You can offer her advice, show her what she is doing wrong.”
- >He groans and gallops ahead of you.
- >”Enough! We are going to return to the castle this instant!”
- >You move past him and pick up the large violin.
- “She abandoned her violin, can't we at least return it?”
- >Baked facehoofs himself and shakes his head.
- >”That is a cello, Anonymous.”
- >'What's a cello?'
- 'This is, I guess.'
- “Fine, can we return her cello to her?”
- >Baked sighs and steps next to you, examining the instrument.
- >”My my... this is quite the piece of handiwork. It has clearly been taken well care of... it would be a shame should it be left here... fine, we will return the cello then immediately return to the castle.”
- “Thank you.”
- >You pick it up and sling it over your shoulder.
- >”Ah! Ts! Gently my boy, this is not a tool! It is an instrument. Here, allow me...”
- >Baked takes the cello from you and gives it back, positioning your hands to hold it with care.
- >”There. Now, do you have any idea where this mare you spoke of could be?”
- >Someone clears their throat and causes you and Baked to turn your heads in their direction.
- >The mare from before is popping her head out from behind a tree.
- >”I-It is mine. P-Please leave it and go.”
- >You gently lay the cello down and walk towards her.
- >She responds by hiding behind the tree.
- >”P-Please go!”
- “I'm not going to hurt you. In fact, I kind of want to help. I've been hearing you play the past few nights and my friend here says you are struggling. I for one think it sounds amazing bu-”
- >”Well your friend is right! Now please go so I can take my cello!”
- >Baked sighs and rubs his temples.
- >”You hold your bow too firmly, you must loosen your grip. You also seem to rush through certain parts of your song, I have heard it near a thousand times in my life so far.”
- >She does not respond, not verbally.
- >You hear a sniffle and thump.
- >”I-I know... I know my technique is flawed.”
- >You walk behind the tree and see the mare burying her head between her legs, crying.
- >”I know I have to perform this piece perfectly or else my reputation will be sullied, but I cannot!”
- >You take a knee and she pushes herself away.
- >”... Why not Ma'am?”
- >The mare stops sniffling a moment to respond.
- >”The piece is a classic, to be performed by an all Unicorn ensemble. No earth pony can match the control with their instruments that a Unicorn can demonstrate... but we are to perform the piece despite this fact.”
- >Baked lets out a soft grunt and sighs,
- >”I see... they are putting pressure on you to match a Unicorn troupe. If I had to guess, the group who asked you to perform this is trying to show Unicorns as superior... bastards.”
- >The mare nods, eyes filled with tears. She stands and moves past you.
- >'... That's pretty fucked up. Trying to show racial superiority? Nazis would be proud of those pricks.'
- >”Yes, now if you excuse me, I need to practice.”
- >Baked holds the cello down.
- >”Here is as good a place as any to practice. You seem to think so, given your frequency using this place.”
- >The mare's lips quiver and she looks down.
- >”Please give me my cello...”
- >”What is your name miss?”
- >Silence.
- >You place a hand on her back and she jumps forward.
- “... I'm Anon. Anonymous if you want to be formal.”
- >The mare shakes a bit, her breathing is rushed.
- >She calms herself before responding.
- >”... I am Octavia, Octavia Melody.”
- >”Miss Melody, you know it is not impossible to match their expectations, correct?”
- >Baked releases the cello.
- >”It certainly feels this way...”
- >The elder stallion sighs and picks up the cello and bow.
- >He then performs the song Octavia has been for the past few nights with flawless control.
- >The mare's jaw is practically hitting the ground.
- >'Hmm mm HMM mm hmm. Hmm mm-mm, hmm MMM mmm, Hmm mm HMM mm hmm. Catchy.'
- >You feel your head swaying with the melody, entranced.
- >”H-how are you...”
- >Baked lays the bow across the cello, looking to the mare, unamused.
- >”I have spent many years working for the royal family, being confined inside the castle gives one much time to practice their tact. Now come, I will not allow some foolish upper-class bastards to make a fool out of such a pretty young mare.”
- >Baked hands her the instrument and has her position herself as he was.
- >You spend the next half hour watching Octavia make minor improvements to her, in your opinion, already awe inspiring style.
- >”I-I... This felt so much smoother than any other time I have attempted to perform this... Th-Thank you, both of you.”
- “Anytime.”
- >Baked coughs and stares at you.
- >”Perhaps not -any- time, but should you need additional aid-”
- >”I will! I-I only have two more days before I am to perform. I beg of you, please, help me?”
- >You smile at Baked as he lets out a sigh of defeat.
- >”... Anonymous, would you rather spend your days here, listening to Miss Melody perform? Or continue to explo-”
- “Here. No offense, but this city has nothing to offer me. Aside from your brothers bakery.”
- >Baked nods and smacks his lips.
- >”Very well then. We can meet you here any time after twelve.”
- >Octavia smiles with such relief that you can feel the air lift.
- >”Thank you sir, so much! I will be free after three tomorrow. Can we meet up then?”
- >Baked nods and the young mare hugs him.
- >'She must have been under a lot of pressure if she is this excited over a simple study session.'
- 'Kind of like Earth. Someone feels they are in a helpless situation and all it takes is one helping hand for them to feel the weight of the world off their shoulders.'
- >Baked clears his throat as Octavia lets go of him.
- >”Yes, well, we must be going. Come Anonymous. I... may not need to report your misdealings after all.”
- >You chuckle and stand, wiping off your pants.
- “Right behind you Baked.”
- >Octavia stops you as you walk past her.
- >”... May I ask what exactly you are?”
- >You look down and can see the fear in her eyes gone, replaced with an inquisitive curiosity.
- “I'm a human Octavia, an alien in a foreign land.”
- >She nods.
- >”I see. Well, I shall see you both tomorrow then?”
- “Count on it.”
- >Octavia moves to pull a case from behind another tree and put her cello away.
- >Baked pushes you forward, making you march back to the gap.
- >”Make no mistake, I am still upset with you.”
- “Even though it turns out she really did need help?”
- >”You cannot help out everyone you meet Anonymous.”
- “But you can try, and if you can help even one?”
- >Baked does not respond, continuing to lead you back the way you two came.
- >You two reach the castle as Luna gets to work raising the moon higher in the night's sky.
- >Baked remains quiet until you are in front of your room.
- >”I did not mean avoid helping any individual. I meant that you must be realistic in who you can help.”
- “You could, and did, help Octavia.”
- >”... That I did. Good night Anonymous, I will see you tomorrow morning.”
- “Night Baked. See you tomorrow.”
- >You enter your room and the three sisters greet you.
- >”Welcome back Anonymous.”
- “Hey Silk, Shine, Sweep. I miss anything?”
- >Shine and Sweep ready your meal as Silk moves to offer you a glass of water.
- >”Princess Celestia wishes to speak with you soon regarding progress being made with their findings. It sounded like they had a large step forward today.”
- >You smile and grab the cup from the mare.
- >'Guess the ride's coming to an end. It was fun while it lasted.'
- 'You sound almost depressed. Going to miss the racial tension and experiments?'
- >'Nah, nah. Just saying.'
- >You spend the rest of the evening in comfort and get ready for tomorrow.
- >Day Results in Equestria.
- >”Good, good. There is no stress, no pressure.”
- >You are watching Baked give Octavia lessons on controlling her anxiety, her biggest obstacle to performing her song.
- >She breathes deeply and is showing the same kind of mastery Baked was yesterday.
- >The stallion simply nods and smirks.
- >”You learn quickly Miss Melody. Did you take to the cello naturally?”
- >She nods and exhales softly, her focus on her music.
- >She goes through the entire piece without fault.
- >”... I... did I just...”
- >You clap and smile.
- “I think you did, but I'm not the expert on music. Baked?”
- >He chuckles and nods his head.
- >”Yes, you did. Now do it twice more and you will be ready.”
- >Octavia nods with glee and takes a deep breathe before starting her second attempt at the song.
- >Her second time seems more natural to watch and is performed with the same perfection as the first.
- >She keeps with her momentum and immediately starts the third repetition without pause.
- >As she finishes she is hopping on her hind legs, smiling like a student who has aced a test they felt would end them.
- >”I-I did it, I did it!”
- >You clap again and are joined by Baked and your brain.
- >'Whoo! Encore! Fourth encore! Screw leaving them wanting more!'
- >You chuckle and stand.
- “Well, this was fun to watch. Hope you knock them dead a your recital Octavia.”
- >”Bah, with the way she performed, she will knock the dead back to life!”
- >She blushes and rubs the back of her head at the praise from you two.
- >”Th-Thank you both. I never would have been able to perform the piece without your help Mr. Top.”
- >Baked dismisses her compliment and looks away.
- >”Bah, you just needed to know how to match a Unicorn's technique. It was your talent that let you play it as soundly as you did.”
- >She just nods, knowing better than to argue with a stallion as old as Baked.
- >”I do appreciate this though, truly. Thank you both for stepping into my life when you did. Will I see either of you again?”
- >You frown and shake your head.
- “Maybe Baked, but I will be heading home soon.”
- >”I see, then I wish you well Anonymous. Thank you for finding me last night. And you Mr. Top, thank you for all the help you have given me.”
- >”It was my pleasure Miss Melody. Now if you excuse us, we must be heading back. Come Anonymous.”
- >You follow Baked and wave back to Octavia.
- “Good bye Octavia. Hope you cause those blue bloods to drop their jaws!”
- >”Good bye Anonymous, take care of yourself!”
- >It is already getting dark.
- >You and Baked spent much longer out today than you expected.
- >The guards are giving you their same death glare as you two enter the castle.
- >You are about to turn down the hallway to your room but are stopped by two guards.
- >”The Princesses want to speak with you.”
- >They push you away from Baked and start to lead you to the throne room.
- >Baked follows and tries to get past them.
- >”There is no need to force the man! He can walk himself to the Princesses.”
- >'Right, Baked never saw the guards push you like this.'
- >The guards continue to force you, not even giving Baked respect enough to turn to him.
- >”Butt out old stallion, this doesn't concern you.”
- >Baked glares at the guards and continues to follow.
- “Baked, it's okay. I'll be fine.”
- >”I know you shall be fine Anonymous, I do not appreciate the wa-”
- >Two more guards keep him from following as you are lead to the throne room.
- “I'll be fine! I'll see you later, okay?”
- >You cannot hear his response.
- >The guards push you in front of the large double doors.
- >They begin to open at the same slow pace as before.
- >”Move it.”
- >They push you again, forcing you to enter.
- >Celestia and Luna are in their thrones, a dozen or so Unicorns in lab coats to either side of them.
- >You reach the thrones in moments.
- “You wanted to see me?”
- >Celestia sighs with a hint of sorrow and nods.
- >”Yes Anonymous... I will not mince words, I have terrible news.”
- >You look to Luna.
- >She seems filled with grief and regret.
- “... I take it something happened?”
- >A Unicorn steps forth with a clipboard.
- >”Yes and no. We were able to ascertain how you arrived here, but we cannot duplicate it. You are stuck in Equestria Anonymous.”
- >Taking a deep breath, you sigh.
- >You aren't sure what you should be feeling right now.
- >Sorrow, obviously.
- >Yet, you feel nothing.
- “I see...”
- >Celestia shakes her head.
- >”You were brought here by some sort of spell. It is ancient, something older than ponykind itself. We cannot even hope to recreate it. Such magics are out of our control.”
- >You nod, letting every word said sink in.
- >'... You'll never see your family again. Your friends. All technology is gone.'
- 'I know brain. I am not an idiot.'
- “So what now then?”
- >Luna looks to her sister.
- >Celestia nods and matches her eyes to yours.
- >”Anonymous, we cannot shelter an alien in the hub of our country. Too many incident may happen. We think it would be best if you were to settle in a city and adjust to life here. We can provide you with a fund from our royal treasury to help you get on your own two feet, but that is all we can help with. The royal family must maintain it's image in front of our subjects. I am truly sorry.”
- >You don't question why you staying here would be a big deal now.
- >You don't question why they were so willing to accommodate you when they thought your stay would be temporary.
- >You don't even question their logic on how you being here longer would affect their image worse than you being here at all.
- >You just look at the Princesses and speak.
- “When should I leave?”
