- 30 minutes of Reading a Book. This is any book you are interested in. For me, its leadership and theology books. If you read around a minute in a half a page, depending on the book, you could easily read a book a week, thats 52 books a year!!! I know a crazy brilliant guy with two PhD's once tell me, "aim to read a book a week and you'll be blown away by the impact." Some could choose to do this at night, but I'm married and believe strongly in going to bed with my wife, not a book. Read 30 minutes every morning.
- 30 minutes of Exercise. I'm thinking primarily of running. Why? It gets you outside to reflect on the first two 30's. It wakes you up. It gets you outside. You could alternate between cardio and weights. I don't think I need to lay out the arguments why I think this one is so important. It just is.Spend 30 minutes every morning exercising. It was a normal after-dinner evening at home with the family. We were getting things cleaned up and prepared to play our favorite game, "Catch Phrase". I was sitting in the living room when I looked into the kitchen and saw my fourteen year old daughter Jasmine, sulking over the sink. She was washing dishes, but really seemed to be having some difficulty. "Jasmine, are you okay?" I asked. "I'm tired of washing dishes all the time, Dad." "Jasmine, you wash dishes maybe...five days a month. What's the big deal."
