  1. >It’s been a few days since you kicked Rainbow out of your house.
  2. >You haven’t left it yourself since then either.
  3. >While your rage is still great, the sorrow is still there.
  4. >You were turned down and laughed at by your best bro, the only pony you felt you truly were connected to.
  5. >Sure, there were others that were your friends, but it just felt a little different with Rainbow.
  6. >Your mind keeps on rolling over your thoughts, trying to think of how you could have done something differently, how you could have changed actions to make her answer change, but it just keeps on coming up with the same answer.
  7. >You couldn’t have done anything.
  8. >Now you may have lost the pony that you considered your best bro and closest friend.
  9. >Over the course of your binge drinking and isolation, there have been numerous attempts by your friends to get you to leave your house.
  10. >All except two of them had visited, being left outside, calls unanswered.
  11. >The two that hadn’t visited you yet, Twilight and Rainbow, you assumed had different reasons.
  12. >Rainbows excuse was an easy one. You had told her to get the fuck out, pretty much saying you didn’t want to see her again.
  13. >In all reality, you’re still pretty sour about the whole thing. You wouldn’t even think twice about talking to her unlike the other girls.
  14. >Someone else showed up that you didn’t expect too.
  15.
  16. >Soarin shouted about how terrible of a friend you were and how Rainbow Dash was torn up about the whole thing.
  17. >Didn’t change the fact that you were pissed.
  18. >Twilight on the other hand, you could only fathom why she wouldn’t be here.
  19. >Possibly because she feels bad for you and thinks you should have a little time for yourself?
  20. >Maybe seeing you would break her resolve that she had about telling that colt that she was interested in him. You’re sure she doesn’t want to have her heart broken like you did and seeing you like this would just remind her of the possible failure.
  21. >She may just think you’re over-reacting and being stupid about it. A lot of the time you talked about how much you liked Rainbow she seemed annoyed or un-interested at the subject.
  22. >Maybe she’s still pissed about you making jokes about her embarrassment.
  23. >Who knows?
  24. >Whatever, time to make a little food and pass out again.
  25. >You pull yourself out of bed and make your way downstairs hoping that it would be enough of a distraction from your thoughts.
  26. >Once you’re done eating, you toss yourself onto the couch and turn on the TV just for some light noise.
  27. >An indeterminable amount of time later, you hear a hard pounding on the door outside.
  28. >”ANON!”
  29. >Twilight? Must have finally forgiven you.
  30. >”ANON! OPEN UP RIGHT NOW!” she says, pounding on the door harder.
  31. >What’s she going to do if you don’t?
  32. >”I SWEAR, IF YOU DON’T OPEN THE DOOR, I’LL USE MY MAGIC TO OPEN IT MYSELF!”
  33. >Fuck.
  34.
  35. >You hear a click and a swing of the door.
  36. >”Anon where are you!” she shouts, the sound of her stomping hooves filling the air.
  37. >What the fuck, can’t you just wallow in your anger and sorrow?
  38. >You sit up, almost ready to tell her off.
  39. “What the hell Twilight? Why’d you just break into my house?” you shout back towards the front of the house.
  40. >The sound of her hooves hitting the floor speed up until they go silent when she hits the carpet of the living room and is looking at you over the couch.
  41. >Man, she does not look happy.
  42. >Well, neither are you.
  43. >She marches up to you on the other side of the couch, getting close to you.
  44. >”Why the heck would you do this to yourself. All over this little thing,” she asks, a small amount of venom in her voice.
  45. >Now you’re starting to get a little pissed at her too.
  46. “Do you know how hard it is to be around the pony that you have a crush on all the time, not being able to do anything while they just sit there and have the special bond with somepony else that you wish you were?”
  47. >You pause a moment, making fucking sure she understands you.
  48. >She tries to speak up.
  49. >”Ye-“ she says, getting cut off by your rant.
  50.
  51. “Do you even know what it’s like to maybe lose your best friend and be crushed and laughed at at the same time? Do you know how fucking embarrassing it is when your crush just laughs at your confession, thinking it’s a joke?” you continue.
  52. “Don’t even start to criticize me on how I should be acting about this when you haven’t ever been in this position,” you say, you’re voice dripping with anger.
  53. >”You know what Anon…” her brow furrowing in anger.
  54. >”I do know what it’s like to sit back and watch your crush try to be with someone else, knowing that he doesn’t even realize you’re there. Even giving hints and having friends helping you out in every way possible and still not getting noticed,” she continues.
  55. >”Sitting there day after day trying to come up with a new way to make him realize you’re interested without just saying it!” she says, her forehead pushing you back, her face in yours this time.
  56. >”It’s terrible Anon! You act like you should be crying because of it, but you know what I do day after day Anon? I continue with my life! I continue with my daily stuff because while it stinks, it doesn’t mean that I have to give up everything!” she continues yelling.
  57. >You flop back down onto the couch, not realizing she was dealing with something close to that.
  58. >The real thing that starts to flip through your mind now is who she’s talking about.
  59. >Guess there’s only one way to find out for sure.
  60. >You let out a sigh, Twilight still huffing and red in the face, the anger not washed away.
  61. “You know what Twilight, you’re right. It is dumb to sit around and mope about it. My new goal is to help you out. So, who is this lucky stallion?” you ask, patting for her to sit down on the couch.
  62. >She huffs at you.
  63. >That’s not what you expected.
  64.
  65. >”Wow, you really are thick Anon. Do you really not know who it is?” she asks.
  66. “No, no I don’t. Why don’t you just tell me? No one else would and I can’t figure out why.”
  67. >She bites her lip, almost like she’s trying to hold back screaming at you again.
  68. >”It’s you, you idiot!” she barks.
  69. >Again, not what you expected to hear.
  70. >She pulls back slightly, almost as if she didn’t expect to say that.
  71. >Twilight has been trying to get with you. Why would she want you? And here you’ve been an asshole, torturing her the same way Dash did with Soarin to you.
  72. >And now you feel awful again.
  73. >You get up and pull her towards you and onto the couch, your arms wrapping around her body.
  74. “I’m sorry…” is all you manage to sputter out, somehow managing to calm her slightly, and her hooves reaching around you.
  75. >How could you have missed it? You really didn’t want anyone else to go through what you had to and here you were the one who put her in the same position.
  76. >You unconsciously made her go through the same damn thing you did.
  77.
  78. >All those times just talking to her about how much you liked Dash, how much you wanted to be with her. Now it makes since why she never really had any interest in you talking about Dash.
  79. >Really, Twilight has been there forever for you, almost as long as Dash. You spend a lot of time with her and she’s a pretty cool mare.
  80. >She’s pretty fun to hang with in a different way than Dash and you found out she’s pretty fun at the club too.
  81. >The real question is how much interest do you really have for Twilight?
  82. >”Anon, you can let me go any time now,” she says, moving against you reminding you that she’s still in your arms.
  83. >After settling down on the couch snuggled up slightly against you, you turn to look at her.
  84. >A cute blush is creeping up on her cheeks as she looks up at you, eyes full of hope.
  85. >”So Anon, I guess the cat is out of the bag now. D-Did you have an answer for me?” she asks with a tint of fear in her voice.
  86. >Oh man, she’s really putting you on the spot.
  87. >You slowly reach your arm over her, pulling her even closer than you thought possible.
  88. “I guess we could give it a shot,” you say, a sheepish smile on your face.
  89. >She buries her head into your side letting out a deep sigh, obviously happy that you’re willing to give her a chance.
  90. >Really, there’s no reason not to give it a try. She is a pretty cool mare after all and the positive to this is having an awesome marefriend whereas the negative would be it not working out and having the same awkward feeling that you would have if you denied her.
  91. >You nuzzle into her mane letting out a sigh as well.
  92. >God the past couple of days were exhausting.
  93. >Here’s to hoping the future won’t be.
