Benkei: It’s been a few days now... And still no movement from the Underground Empire.

「グレートの解析を進めつつ、
機会をうかがっているのでしょうね」
Misato: I’m sure they’re biding their time while they examine Great.

もりもり博士
「すみませんな。
ワシが奴らに協力してしまったばかりに」
Dr. Morimori: I’m sorry for cooperating with them.

シマ
「状況を考えれば仕方ありません。
博士が無事だっただけでも良かったと考えましょう」
Shima: It’s understandable, given the circumstances. We should just take solace that the good doctor returned unharmed.

ブライト
「弓教授、地下帝国が奪っていった
グレートの戦闘力は、どの程度のものなのですか?」
Bright: Professor Yumi, how strong would you say the Great that the Underground Empire stole is?

弓教授
「少なくとも、今まで運用していたグレートを
凌駕するのは間違いないでしょう」
Prof. Yumi: If nothing else, it will undoubtedly surpass the Great we constructed ourselves.

のっそり博士
「以前のグレートは、遺された設計図から
我々が造り上げた物…いわばプロトタイプ」
Dr. Nossori: We created the former Great using blueprints left behind. It’s essentially...a prototype, so to speak.

せわし博士
「兜博士はその設計図を元に、さらに強力なグレート…
真のグレートマジンガーとも言えるロボットを
造り上げたのでしょう」
Dr. Sewashi: Dr. Kabuto used those blueprints as a basis, to create an even stronger Great... You could say the robot he made is the true Great Mazinger.

「真のグレートマジンガー…」
Minato: The true Great Mazinger...

オルガ
「なんでそんな物を、わざわざ別の場所で造ったんだ?
設計図があるんなら、ここで造っちまえば
早かったんじゃねえのか」
Orga: Why’d it have to be built somewhere else anyways? If the blueprints were right here, why didn’t he just make it here?

弓教授
「私にも理由はわからない。
ただ、兜博士の性格から考えて、
誰にも明かせない研究を続けていたのかもしれない…」
Prof. Yumi: That much is unknown to me. However, considering the type of man Dr. Kabuto was, he may have been continuing research which he couldn’t disclose to anyone.

四ツ谷博士
「それがなんなのか、兜博士が亡くなった今では
わからずじまいじゃがのう」
Dr. Yotsuya: What’s more is that we still don’t know if Dr. Kabuto is actually dead or not.

弁慶
「…オリジナルのグレートのことは彼…剣鉄也には?
目を覚ましたとは聞いたが」
Benkei: ...Have you told him about the original Great? ...Tetsuya, I mean? I heard he woke up.

「出自は違っても兄弟のようなものだ。
真のグレートが破壊されるのを見るのは、
忍びないでしょうね…」
Guy: They may have different creators, but they’re still sibling machines. Seeing the true Great be destroyed may be too much for him...

Hiroshi: Yo. We came to visit since we heard you were awake.

Koji: You’re looking better than I thought you’d be. That’s good.

「…前置きはいい」
Tetsuya: ...Spare me the pleasantries.

Koji: ...

「話は聞いた。
兜博士の造ったオリジナルのグレート…
それが地下帝国にな…」
Tetsuya: I’ve heard the story. The original Great created by Dr. Kabuto... And of course the Underground Empire...

「鉄也さん、俺たちは…」
Koji: Tetsuya, we—

鉄也
「…グレートを破壊しろ」
Tetsuya: ...Destroy Great.

「…!」
Sakimi: ...!

「いいのか…?
グレートマジンガーは鉄也さんの…」
Koji: Are you sure...? Great Mazinger is your...

「俺のグレートは、もういない」
Tetsuya: My Great is already gone.

「俺とあいつの戦いは…終わったんだ」
Tetsuya: My fight...is over.

Jun: Tetsuya...

「…鉄也さん、もう一度聞くぜ。
本当にいいのか…?」
Koji: ...I’m gonna ask you again. Are you really sure about this...?

「何が言いたい?」
Tetsuya: Why even ask?

甲児
「俺はまだあんたと会って間もないが、
それでも…あんたがこんな簡単に燃え尽きるような
男には見えない」
Koji: I know we only just met, but... You strike me as the kind of guy that wouldn’t burn out so easily.

「鉄也さん、あんたは…」
Koji: Tetsuya, you---

鉄也
「言うな」
Tetsuya: That’s enough.

鉄也
「兜博士のグレートは悪魔となるだろう。
その強大な力はなんとしても止めなければならん。
なんとしてもだ」
Tetsuya: Dr. Kabuto’s Great will become a devil. Its fearsome power must be stopped. No matter what.

Koji: ...

(An alarm sounds.)

めぐみ
「これは…!」
Megumi: That’s...!

(Sayaka speaks over an intercom.)

さやか
「みんな!
地下帝国とキャンベル星人の部隊が
こっちに向かって来ているわ!」
Sayaka: Everyone! The Underground Empire and Campbellian forces are coming this way!

さやか
「グレートマジンガーも一緒よ…!」
Sayaka: And Great Mazinger’s with them too...!

鉄也
「…!」
Tetsuya: ...!

豹馬
「来やがったか!
いくぜ、みんな!」
Hyoma: They’re here! Let’s go, guys!

サキミ
「ええ!」
Sakimi: Yes!

(Everyone but Koji and Tetsuya leaves.)

「兜…頼むぞ」
Tetsuya: Kabuto. ...Please.

「…わかった」
Koji: ...Alright.

(Koji leaves.)

『再臨! 偉大なる勇者』
Episode 31
Second Coming! The Great Hero!


(Scene starts on the map screen of the Photon Power Lab. Londo Bell is deployed.)

鋼鉄ジーグ
「ついにこの時が来ちまったか」
Steel Jeeg: It’s finally time.

キリコ
「敵のグレートマジンガーが、
マジンガーZ以上の力を持つのなら、
加減している余裕はない」
Chirico: The enemy’s Great Mazinger is just as strong as or stronger than Mazinger Z. We can’t afford to be careless.

龍馬
「甲児、お前には悪いが、
じいさんの形見はぶっ潰させてもらうぜ!」
Ryoma: Sorry to tell you this, Koji, but your grandpa’s momento is about to get ripped apart!

甲児
「大丈夫。
俺もそのつもりだ」
Koji: It’s fine. That’s what I was planning on.

トーレス
「敵部隊、来ます!」
Torres: The enemy forces have arrived!

(Baron Ashura appears in Great Mazinger. Mechanical/Magma Beasts appear. Garuda is watching from off the map.)

「これはこれは。
我らが地下帝国のグレートマジンガーを、
盛大に出迎えてくれるとは」
Baron Ashura: Well, well. What a lavish greeting for the Underground Empire’s Great Mazinger.

あしゅら男爵
「礼代わりと言ってはなんだが、
偉大な魔神の力を、
お前たちに見せてやろう!」
Baron Ashura: To express my gratitude, I will demonstrate to you the power of a truly terrifying Mazin!

キョウ
「ひとんちからパクっておいて、
何偉そうにしてやがる!」
Kyo: He’s pretty full of himself for just being a no-good thief!

甲児
「あしゅら! グレートマジンガーは、
お前たちの世界征服の道具にはさせないぜ!」
Koji: Ashura! I won’t allow Great Mazinger to become a tool for your world domination!

あしゅら男爵
「やれるものならやってみるがいい!」
Baron Ashura: If you think you can stop me, then just try it!

ガルーダ
「我らを幾度となく苦しめた
グレートがこちら側にあるとはな。
その力、見極めるとしよう」
Garuda: To think that Great, one that has opposed us time and time again, would now fight on our side. I suppose I shall see what it is capable of.

甲児
「グレートを破壊するのは俺の役目だ。
鉄也さんとの約束は果たす…!」
Koji: It’s my duty to destroy Great. I have to fulfill my promise to Tetsuya...!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(Battle 1 ends when Great Mazinger is defeated.)

「ぬううっ、グレートが…!?」
Baron Ashura: Ngh...! Even with Great I...!?

ガルーダ
「どうした、あしゅら男爵。
大口を叩いていながらその程度か?」
Garuda: What’s the matter, Baron Ashura? After all your boasting, is this the most you can accomplish?

あしゅら男爵
「うるさい!
システムが一時的にダウンしただけのこと!
すぐにまた力を振るってくれるわ!」
Baron Ashura: Shut up! They only shut down the system temporarily! My power will return shortly!

メグ
「あれだけやって破壊できないなんて、
なんて頑丈なの!」
Meg: It must be crazy resilient to not be destroyed after all that!

ビスケット
「けど動けなくなってるのには違いない!
今のうちになんとかしないと!」
Biscuit: But it definitely can’t move now! Here’s our chance to do something!

甲児
「ならそいつは、俺の役目だ」
Koji: Leave that to me.

(Koji appears and rushes over to Baron Ashura.)

あしゅら男爵
「むう、兜甲児!」
Baron Ashura: Ugh, Koji Kabuto!

甲児
「マジンガーZのパワーを全力で叩き込む!
それならいくらグレートといえども!」
Koji: I’ll put everything Mazinger Z’s got into this! Not even Great will be able to take that!

甲児
(許してくれ、おじいちゃん…鉄也さん…
そしてグレートマジンガー…)
Koji: (Forgive me, Granddad... Tetsuya... And you too, Great Mazinger...)

甲児
「うおおおおおおおおっ!!」
Koji: HAAAAAAAAGGGGHHH!!

(The screen goes white.)

「…何故、俺はここに来た?」
??? (Tetsuya): ...Why did I come here?

「ブレーンコンドル…」
???: The Brain Condor...

「伝わってくるぞ…。
お前はまだ、燃え尽きることができていないんだな…」
???: It’s telling me... It’s not ready to burn out just yet...

「この俺も…同じなのか…」
???: And I’m...the same...

「…兜。
そうか…」
???: ...Kabuto. Now I see...

「いくぞ、ブレーンコンドル…」
???: Let’s go, Brain Condor...


(Scene changes back to the Photon Power Lab map. Great Mazinger is still on the map.)

「………」
Koji: ...

さやか
「甲児君…」
Sayaka: Koji...

甲児
「俺には…できない…っ!」
Koji: I...can’t do it...!

甲児
「グレートが泣いている…。
正義のために力を振るえず、
ただ、悪魔に成り果てた自分自身の姿に…!」
Koji: Great is crying... Unable to wield his power for justice, only to see himself reduced to the role of a devil...!

ガルーダ
「人間とはつくづく愚かな生き物だな!
グレートを倒すチャンスを自ら捨て去るとは!」
Garuda: You humans are such abhorrently foolish creatures! You abandoned your chance to bring down Great!

あしゅら男爵
「すでに機能は回復した!
手を出せないというのならば、
この私が葬り去ってやろう!」
Baron Ashura: Functionality has already been restored! If you won’t even resist, then I’ll bury you here myself!

(Baron Ashura attacks Koji.)

甲児
「くっ…!」
Koji: Ugh...!

三日月
「できないなら、俺たちがやるよ」
Mikazuki: If you can’t do it, then we will.

???
「兜! 奴のブレーンコンドルを引き抜け!」
???: Kabuto! Pull out his Brain Condor!

甲児
「…!?」
Koji: ...!?

(Tetsuya appears on the map in his Brain Condor.)

ジュン
「あれはブレーンコンドル…!
鉄也が乗っているの!?」
Jun: That Brain Condor...! Is Tetsuya piloting it!?

ちずる
「あんな身体で出撃だなんて、無茶だわ!」
Chizuru: He can’t launch in the shape he’s in!

鉄也
「お…俺の生命を燃やす時は今この時!」
Tetsuya: N...Now is the time for my spirit to burn bright!

鉄也
「俺はまだ…グレートマジンガーのパイロット!
剣鉄也だッ!!」
Tetsuya: I’m still...Great Mazinger’s pilot! Tetsuya Tsurugi!!

甲児
「…わかった!」
Koji: ...I hear you!

あしゅら男爵
「ぬう、グレートのコントロールを奪うつもりか!
そんなことはさせん…!」
Baron Ashura: Ngh! I will never allow you to take control of Great...!

(Baron Ashura fires on Tetsuya.)

鉄也
「ぐっ…おおおおおおおおーっ!!」
Tetsuya: Ugh... Aaaaaaaah!!

(Tetsuya flies over to Baron Ashura.)

甲児
「いくぞ! 鉄也さん…!」
Koji: Do it! Tetsuya...!

鉄也
「ファイヤァアアァオォオォン!!」
Tetsuya: FIIIIIIIRE OOOOOON!!

(Tetsuya’s Brain Condor combines with Great Mazinger, giving him control.)

鉄也
「合体…成功だ」
Tetsuya: Combine...successful.

日吉
「あんな無茶苦茶な状況で成功させるなんて…」
Hiyoshi: I can’t believe they pulled it off in a crazy situation like this...

凱
「あれがマジンガーのパイロットたちか…」
Guy: Those Mazinger pilots are something else...

(Baron Ashura appears in his Brain Condor.)

あしゅら男爵
「おのれ! おのれ! おのれえええ!
グレートマジンガーを奴らに奪われるとは!」
Baron Ashura: Damn you! Damn you! DAMN YOUUUU! You stole Great Mazinger from me!

(Baron Ashura flies to a Ghoul and pilots it.)

あしゅら男爵
「かくなる上はグレートを破壊し、奴らも全滅させる!
でなければDr.ヘルに申し訳が立たぬ!」
Baron Ashura: Now that it’s come to this, we’ll destroy Great along with the rest of them! I can never beg forgiveness from Dr. Hell otherwise!

ガルーダ
「むざむざ敵に手土産まで持たせるとは…
やはり、このガルーダが直々に戦わねばならぬか」
Garuda: You may as well have gift wrapped your little present for the enemy... As expected, I shall have to face them myself.

(Baron Ashura and Garuda move onto the map. The Dunbine villain trio appears.)

アレン
「やれやれ…指揮官殿の尻拭いかよ」
Allen: Good grief... Now we’re stuck cleaning up the commander’s mess.

ジェリル
「あれだけの力を持て余すなんて、
あたしなら、ああはならなかったね」
Jeril: It was too much power for him to handle. If it were me, this would never have happened.

フェイ
「いいさ。
その分、俺たちに出番が回ってきた」
Fey: Oh well. This just means it’s time for our shift.

豹馬
「ガルーダの奴、前に出てきやがったな!」
Hyoma: Garuda’s finally come out!

チャム
「ジェリルたちもいるわ!」
Cham: Jeril and her boys too!

超竜神
「ですが気の毒ですね。
今の我々は負ける気がしません」
ChoRyuJin: That’s not good. But we won’t give up now!

甲児
「やれるかい、鉄也さん?」
Koji: Can you keep going, Tetsuya?

鉄也
「フ…その言葉、誰に言っているんだ?」
Tetsuya: Heh... Who do you think you’re talking to?

鉄也
「いくぞ、兜!
マジンガーZとグレートマジンガー、
2体の魔神の力を奴らに教えてやるんだ!」
Tetsuya: Let’s go, Kabuto! We’ll treat them to the power of two Mazins, Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger!

(Battle 2 begins.)

(This exchange triggers if Tetsuya battles anyone.)

鉄也
「こいつには俺と、弓教授が造り上げた
グレートの魂も宿っている!」
Tetsuya: This guy carries the soul of Professor Yumi’s Great within!

鉄也
「お前たちに見せてやろう!
受け継がれた偉大な勇者の魂を!」
Tetsuya: Allow me to show you the soul of the great hero passed down to it!

(This line plays when Jeril is defeated.)

ジェリル
「ちっ、口惜しいねぇ…。
あたしの力は、こんなもんじゃないはずなんだ!」
Jeril: Tch, how annoying... I should be stronger than this!

(This line triggers when Fey is defeated.)

フェイ
「あの男女、調子に乗っているからこうなる!
文句のひとつでも言わせてほしいぜ!」
Fey: This is what happens when that man-woman gets carried away! I’m definitely complaining about this later!

(This line triggers when Allen is defeated.)

アレン
「敵に機体を奪われた時点で負け戦も同然だ。
文句を言われる筋合いはないぜ」
Allen: This battle was lost when the enemy stole that machine. There’s no sense complaining about it now.

(This line triggers when Garuda is defeated.)

ガルーダ
「ええい! 我らを差し置いて
グレートを手に入れておきながら、この始末!
地下帝国の連中どもが!」
Garuda: Ugh! So this is what happens after we left Great in their hands! Damn those incompetent Underground Empire fools!

(This exchange triggers if Tetsuya battles Baron Ashura.)

あしゅら男爵
「おのれ、剣鉄也!
よくも我らのグレートマジンガーを奪ってくれたな!」
Baron Ashura: Damn you, Tetsuya Tsurugi! How dare you steal Great Mazinger from us!

鉄也
「フッ、お前にグレートのパイロットは
荷が重すぎたと思ってな」
Tetsuya: Ha. I just thought piloting Great was too much for you to handle.

鉄也
「覚悟するんだな!
今お前の目の前にいるのが、グレートマジンガーの
真のパイロットだ!」
Tetsuya: Get ready! Before your eyes is the true pilot of Great Mazinger!

(This line triggers when Baron Ashura is defeated.)

あしゅら男爵
「くっ、あそこでグレートを奪われさえしなければ…。
申し訳ありません、Dr.ヘル…!」
Baron Ashura: Kugh! If only they hadn’t stolen Great from me... Forgive me, Dr. Hell...!

(Battle 2 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

鉄也
「終わったな」
Tetsuya: It’s over.

甲児
「…鉄也さん、あんたはきっと来ると思っていたぜ」
Koji:  ...I knew you’d come, Tetsuya.

鉄也
「フッ、パイロットを引退するには、
どうやら俺はまだ若すぎたらしいな」
Tetsuya: Heh, seems I’m still a bit too young to consider retiring.

カミーユ
「地下帝国もキャンベル星人も撤退…
窮地を勝機に変えることができたか」
Kamille: The Underground Empire and the Campbellians are retreating... Looks like we snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

シンジ
「真のグレートマジンガーのおかげですね」
Shinji: Thanks to the true Great Mazinger.

ハルト
「うん、すごい性能だった…」
Haruto: Yeah, it was seriously amazing...

童馬
「いや、それだけじゃねえ」
Ryoma: Nah, it’s not just that.

凱
「ええ。
あれはマジンガーとグレート…」
Guy: He’s right. Mazinger and Great...

凱
「強大な力を持ったことの意味を理解する
あのふたりが揃ったからこそ、あの力を…」
Guy: It’s because those two fully understand what it means to have such great power.

凱
「神にも悪魔にもなれる力を引き出せる…」
Guy: That’s why they could harness the power to become either a god or a devil...

Didarion: (The power to become either a god or a devil, huh...)

Jun: Tetsuya, that was too reckless!

「今回ばかりは…な。
だが、無茶をした甲斐はあった」
Tetsuya: This time...yeah. But it was that recklessness that paid off in the end.

小介
「マジンガーZとグレートマジンガー…
兜十蔵博士が遺した2体の魔神。
こうして並んでるのを見ると壮観ですね」
Kosuke: Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger... The two Mazins left behind by Dr. Juzo Kabuto. Seeing them side-by-side like this is quite a sight.

「にしても…万が一に備えて、
もう1体のグレートを用意しておくなんて…
意外とマジンガーZももう1体あるんじゃないの?」
Kei: But still... To think there was another Great lying around in case you needed it. Does that mean there’s another Mazinger Z out there somewhere?

めぐみ
「そうそう都合良く用意されてるわけないでしょ」
Megumi: There’s no way they prepared something that convenient.

甲児
「あのおじいちゃんのことだから、
その辺りはわかんないけどな」
Koji: When it comes to my granddad, I really can’t say.

甲児
「けど、俺が一緒に戦う相棒はこのマジンガーZさ。
これから先も、ずっとな」
Koji: But the partner I fight with is Mazinger Z. And it always will be.

さやか
「そうね」
Sayaka: Right.

甲児
「…って、こんなこと言ったら鉄也さんに悪いな。
すまねえ」
Koji: ...Crap, I probably shouldn’t have said that in front of Tetsuya. Sorry.

鉄也
「俺のことは気にしなくていい」
Tetsuya: Don’t worry about me.

鉄也
「これまで戦ってきたグレートはもういないが、
その魂はこのグレートに受け継がれている」
Tetsuya: The Great I fought with until now may no longer be here, but its soul has been inherited by this one.

鉄也
「こいつも、俺が共に戦う偉大な勇者さ」
Tetsuya: We’ll fight together, as great heroes.

まさか奪い返すことができるとは」
Prof. Yumi: I thought destroying the Great Mazinger stolen by the enemy would prove arduous, but I never imagined you’d have taken it back.

弓教授
「これも皆さんの力があればこそです。
お礼を言わせてください」
Prof. Yumi: This would not have been possible without the help from all of you. Allow me to express my thanks.

ブライト
「いえ、我々は何もしていません。
むしろ破壊する前提で動いていました」
Bright: No, we weren’t the ones responsible for that. Rather, we were acting with the intention of destroying it.

マリュー
「グレートを取り戻すことができたのは、
甲児君たちの機体にかける想いが
強かったからでしょう」
Murrue: The reason we were able to reclaim Great was due to Koji and Tetsuya’s strong desire to do so.

ムウ
「何にせよ想定外の戦力が増えたのは、
こっちとしてもありがたい限りだ」
Mu: Of course the unexpected increase to our fighting power is more than welcome.

(A call comes through.)

「ん~? 四ツ谷君からの連絡ですぞい。
グレートの件についてかもしれませんなあ」
Dr. Morimori: Hm? We’re receiving a contact from Dr. Yotsuya. It may have something to do with the Great incident.

弓教授
「繋いでください」
Prof. Yumi: Please connect him.

四ツ谷博士
「四ツ谷だ。
どうやらみんな揃っているようだな」
Dr. Yotsuya: Yotsuya here. It would seem you’re all together.

弓教授
「四ツ谷博士、グレートの件ですが先程…」
Prof. Yumi: Dr. Yotsuya, about the Great incident. A short while ago...

四ツ谷博士
「そのことは豹馬たちから報告を受けて知っとります。
ワシが連絡を入れたのは…」
Prof. Yumi: I’ve already heard the details from Hyoma and the others. What I’m contacting you is about...

「つい先程ゲートの発生が確認されたことを
伝えようと思いましてな」
Dr. Yotsuya: The appearance of a Gate we detected just moments ago.

オルガ
「ゲートが!?」
Orga: A Gate!?

「うむ、いま映像をそちらに送る」
Dr. Yotsuya: Yes, I’m sending you the footage now.

Bright: ! This is...!
