PERSONALITY:
— the observant and straight up type.  if something or someone acts out of the ordinary, he will be the first to notice and inquire, or come forward and ask the person straight up.
— very quickly can become like a big brother.  he’s compassionate, loves to help others when he gets the chance.  this also means that he’s versatile, and he’ll be able to take over someone else’s position if they’re missing for some reason.
— incredibly emphatic; he doesn’t like seeing people upset.  if something’s made another person sad, or bothered them, he may become upset upon seeing them cry or act frustrated.  the first to greet people and ask them how they’re doing, how they sleep, etc.
— likewise, his smile is contagious.  his friends back home can always count on him to cheer people up.  this means he takes care of himself a lot too; he is self-confident and wants others to be self-confident just as much.
— he’s persistent, which makes people call him overbearing at times.  if someone tells him they want him to leave, he’ll back off with no feelings hurt.

BACKGROUND:
— moved houses in guangzhou twice, but didn’t often leave the city itself.
— started taking choir in third grade, where the teacher immediately noticed his voice and suggested he be put in a school with music education
— has a little sister, aged 12, that he’s incredibly protective of.
— comes from a family with only one parent.  his dad left home when he was two, and he’s lived with his mom for nearly his entire life.
— he began taking piano classes when he was eight, and can accompany his own acapella singing.
— very used to walking everywhere (i.e school, his grandparents’ house, grocery store) so going to the airport may be somewhat of a shock to him.

TRIVIA:
— tao loves cats.  he has one (named peony) who’s the first person he greets when he wakes up.
— his best friend, yousei, moved from japan and is giving him japanese lessons in return for chinese lessons.  yousei’s the first one who listens to tao’s songs, and is the one who encouraged him to become an idol.
— some of the few english phrases he knows are “how are you doing today?” and “take care of yourself!” he has a decent accent, but he’s pledged to learn english after he finishes studying korean.
— loves hong kong and other big cities of china.  especially likes to eat street food.
— grows his hair to shoulder-length at times, which makes his sister laugh because he needs to tie it into a bun or ponytail for cooking.
— plays chess and card games with his sister and mom.  for the three of them, it’s tradition to sit around the table and play games on friday, after dinner.
— because his mom often comes home late, he’s used to cooking and washing dishes.

“i’ve enjoyed singing all my life.  i’d really like to learn a lot and become bigger as a person, too!  that’s why i decided to come as soon as i heard this company was holding overseas auditions.  haha, yousei, do you see me now?”
