You are Hundo Benjamillions, a peasant in the medieval Kingdom of Larion. You have a crossbow that you bought with your last two silver, and are currently going out into the woods looking for food to hunt for your family. The dark trees loom high over you, and the mystical forests that surround Larion promise both bounty and danger.
You have a hunting crossbow, which you are carrying.
A dirt road stretches ahead of you and behind you, running through a forest that stretches out of sight.
> You continue to follow the dirt road.
Location: Forest
This part of the forest has a lot of tall trees, underbrush, and ferns. There are some animal tracks leading off into the woods to the west, but there is a large dirt path through the woods running to the north and south.
> You head off of the trail and deep into the woods, totally away from any civilization.
As you head away from the path, the underbrush begins to get thicker and thicker. It's hard to walk.
> You see something in the woods.

You're pretty sure that it's a wild boar, and that it's seen you.
The boar, sensing an easy meal, turns around and starts barreling toward you, squealing.
> You draw a knife from your belt and pull off a sick spin-move on the boar.
You don't really have much of a sense for the acrobatics of boar-killing. You try to stab the boar with your knife as it's coming at you, but end up dropping your weapon in the middle of the maneuver.
> You , unfazed, dodge the boar instead and use your crossbow to shoot the boar square between the eyes.
You try to dodge the boar, but get tripped by a root and fall face first onto the ground.
The boar keeps coming at you, squealing louder.
> You try to shoot the boar from the ground instead.
You pick up your crossbow and take a shot. The bolt strikes the boar in the side. It seems hurt, but not mortally so. It keeps charging at you.
> You throw the crossbow at the boar's face, and then stab at it with your knife while it is stunned.
You throw the crossbow, but the boar dodges and keeps coming. It's only about five feet away now.
> You throw your knife as a last ditch effort.
You hurl the knife, but it flies wide of the boar. You scramble to your feet and run as fast as you can, back toward the path.
The boar chases you for a little ways before getting tired and heading away.
> You gain access to your latent psychic powers as a result of your near-death experience.
You wish that were the case, but alas, you have no special powers.
> You become dejected and go home, empty handed and destitute.
That was not the most successful hunt ever.
You head back home empty-handed.
