- Entering the cabin, the imposing empyrean would walk across the wooden floor - making his footsteps echo through the shack. He would come to the table and sit on one of the chairs, and then pull out some documents.
- "Well then, I need an opinion and ideas, I'm currently at an impasse to properly conduct experiments regarding time manipulation.
- Chronomancy." In the notes there were ideas and stuff alike, "I found details of the first chronomancer on the Island, Cid, he talks about a mana stream that controls everything related to space and time.
- And this one used arcane weaving to manipulate this stream, generating effect.. Using 'anchors' and similar things, runes, from weaving.
- So much so, that it's one of my proficiencies and what I'm planing to use." As the butler himself should know, due to training conducted by both.
- In which arcane magic was used.
- "For now, I have to find a way to start trying to manipulate this stream, get in touch with it - planning for it.
- Then, do experiments regarding chronomancy." And here was the butler, tired and.. Who would be used as an extra mind for idea generation.
- (Stolas)
- Moving gently into the abode, the dear Butler would go to lower himself down at the table itself, His cane would be set to lean against his seat as his hat was set on the table itself..
- The discussion about arcane magic and weaving were taken into consideration, and those spectral orbs focused on the papers and plans set before him. A single talon would come to tap at the table a few times..
- "Do you believe Weaving to be the only school you can evoke such results from, Mister Stolas?
- You've seen what many Sorcerers have been able to do with their simple force of will. Perhaps using such schools of magic in tandum to attempt to..
- Use sorceries to bring the -stream- you speak of forth, so then you can weave methods to anchor it and be able to manipulate it?
- Just some spitballed ideas.."
- (Octavius Jhen)
- "Probably not the only one, but it is what he used - it is said in his notes how he used the rune system normally seen in the Arcane part of Weaving to set such anchors.
- Also, use this to manipulate mana and create tablets and other runes, even on his body - to achieve the desired result. Of course, I just want to connect to this, one time and use it from there.
- Bring that strand of mana and then use it, for my own project." And in that, the Maestro's words gave him some ideas.
- As expected, but for that they would first have to experiment - try, connect to that strand, the Timestream and then manipulate its mana.. Perhaps even using some sorcery, as he had a bit of knowledge of it.
- Could he do this easily? No, but nothing was achieved without effort and he had all the time in the world to try and try until he succeeded, achieved his goal.
- "I'll be trying to conduct a test soon, right here in the swamp - I don't know how we will be doing it properly, but I know that I'll try to find the mana strand and then partially manipulate it..
- if this is possible? Great, if not.. We'll try other things.
- That being so!" The empyrean's normally bluish visors would glow purple hues, while focusing on the elf, interest was clear, "Are you willing to help me with this? Help me if something goes wrong." He needed reassurance, they couldn't easily build a new vessel for him.
- Still, he had some planning and all that he required so far, was assistance!
- (Stolas)
- "I do not believe doing it in the swamp would be wise. Perhaps in the beaches to the south? They are not very well traveled. Plenty of open area to be able to escape should something go wrong."
- Just an idle note, as experimentation was always a difficult thing to always do .. safely. With Stolas' gears in his mind running with the idle additions from the Butler, Octavius seemed pleased to actually get a little bit of insight into the mind of Stolas..
- "Willing to assist you with this experiment? Well, I would normally say I'd be happy to do so, Mister Stolas, but before I answer such.."
- He'd go to gently lean into the table, his ghastly gaze locking with the lenses Stolas sported. "I would like to know, further in detail, your connections to me and mine and how the future looks for our cooperative efforts."
- (Octavius Jhen)
- "A wider place? Acceptable, we can't do damage to the only place we have - mainly due to the spirit that is on the loose and causing damage already." That was right, mainly because time magic is very, very volatile by what was said in the notes..
- Then? All the attention to this was necessary.
- Regardless, in the face of the being's doubts - the figure would just flick its viewers before replying in a blunt way, "Octavious, you are part of the cult - you, are someone who has helped me as well as others, in my deal with the demons, it is said and proved that I would help you.
- I'm doing this, I've helped with the Gateway, I've helped during combat against Providence's forces - I'm making smoke bombs for us.. I will continue to do my part.
- That's a certainty. For unlike Providence, I don't betray my own countrymen." He had a way of thinking, he had been created that way - betrayal to those who help him, is something that would not happen.
- But..
- "Still, you are speaking more personally, further detail your request." Because, it would be necessary to understand the situation well.
- (Stolas)
- Octavius Jhen says, "What I wish to undestand is -why- you have such an interest in time, my dear Stolas."
- Octavius Jhen says, "What do you wish to peer into, or reverse about your very being? Or is this merely scholarly curiosity?"
- Stolas says, "Before I answer.."
- Stolas says, "Butler, look at me. What am I to you?"
- It was then the Butler would lean further into the table, and his spectral orbs would flicker between a familiar emerald light and faint flicks of lilac as he tried to peer deeper..
- Peer past the metal and to see what life death may see beneath it. It was clear he was struggling, with how new he was to such magics he called upon.
- Though in time he would say..
- "I may be wrong, but I get the feeling you are trapped in the very body you upkeep, Mister Stolas, but I am far younger than you and not as wise about your..
- Kindred."
- (Octavius Jhen)
- At the bottom of that metallic vessel, there was only a remnant of life which was clearly its core, which was in the depths of its chassis and where the soul resided.
- That, that's what he was.. While the body, it was just his 'puppet'.
- "Not exactly, my form, like most empyreans, it is meant to be better in many ways than other races - superior in some ways.
- And this what I'm, superior to many mortal forms." From there, he rose from his seat and began to speak as he gestured with his hand, "I'm not bound to anything, no longer - what was holding me back was a government of mortals, now? I'm free to decide my own future.
- Freedom was given when my friend died, when I first stepped into this island.
- And which future is this? Anything desire, I am a Timeless being my dear Butler, I will see everything and everyone wither with time, while I will remain the same, while..
- Everything ever desired, can be done.
- And so, if time can be manipulated.. There's no one better to wield that kind of power.." A pause, he stopped and turned fully towards Butler, "Than an Eternal being, is it not?" Finally finished, concluding the monologue.
- (Stolas)
- This was some potent insight into the mind of the Empyrean. He didn't expect such a sense of pride and superiority of his being to be shown in a personal moment. It offered a fair bit of things to think upon for the Butler.
- Stolas sought to control something that an eternal being would have, funnily enough, have all the time in the world to attempt to research and master.
- So as he leaned back into his seat, he'd just go to run his talons through his hair for a moment as he hummed out. "Well, I suppose you will have me to assist you then, Stolas.
- For I, myself, seek to become something eternal myself. Though my methods are not as. . 'pure' as yours. Something you and I could possibly disagree on another time.
- Yet your experiments may do well to assist me down the path I tread."
- (Octavius Jhen)
- Stolas had never refused to make his mentality clear to others, had always talked about how he disrespected Vynn for betraying their people, how he saw such beings as superior and all.
- But no one ever listens to him!
- They always draw their conclusions.
- "Ah? Intriguing, it makes me quite interested in finding out more about your plans, Butler - so you'll have my help!
- And your help? You will be more than welcome, I will make arrangements soon - thank you for your time for now." With that, he would do a short bow, before gesturing to the door.
- And now, time to prepare for the First Experiment.
- (Stolas)
- Octavius Jhen says, "I do appriciate the insight into that brilliant mind of yours, Stolas. Hopefully we can make something -wonderful- happen."
- Stolas says, "Indeed."
