- Ys IX Review by かのこうたろう (Kano Koutarou) [Written in largely polite Japanese]
- When it comes to Falcom music history, I'm not exaggerating when I say now is the worst it's ever been.
- Especially when it comes to outsourced music.
- Mr. Jindo's songs are high quality as usual but he was allotted too few. In his place, another outsourced contractor has appeared.
- This other contractor... how do I say it. His songs are crude, his sense of melodic structure is zero. His work is a hopeless disaster.
- I may be rude in saying so, but after listening to 3 different tunes from the Nico Nico Indies Music page, I think that said tunes have 100x more power than anything this contractor has ever made.
- If Falcom didn't have the famous brand of "Falcom Music" or "Ys Music" backing this person up, would anyone honestly say that his level of music is truly worthy of praise? I would heavily distrust any person who claims "yes".
- The one thing I want to know the most is, where is the company employee who made the famous tunes "Sunshine Coastline" and "Crimson Fighter"?
- In Ys IX, I can barely hear any trace of him.
- On one side you are showering this unskilled contractor with generous treatment and tolerance. On the other you are giving your talented internal employees the cold shoulder.
- I have run out of words to express my dejection and disappointment.
