- BUGS:
- - direct key shortcut to "Switch Guardian Spirit", instead of switching anything, causes the character to go into ranged weapon aim + zoom (note: visually arrows around the guardian spirit icon will be present though); the shortcut - unlike other similar keys (stances and weapons swaps) - requires "stance" button (ki pulse) to be also pressed down.
- steps to reproduce:
- 1. bind e.g. '8' to "Switch Guardian Spirit"
- 2. make sure your character is at the game stage where he has access to 2 guardian spirts (any mission/dojo after unlocking area 3 if I remember correctly) and 2 of them equipped
- 3. make sure your character has ranged weapon equipped and at least 1 piece of ammo
- 4. enter the mission, press '8'
- 5. instead of switching spirits, the character will go into fully zoomed aiming mode
- - if the same key is bound to "Zoom In/Out" and "Shiftling Button Active", pressing zoom while aiming a range weapon will instantly cause it to shoot
- steps to reproduce:
- 1. bind e.g. '8' to "Zoom In/Out" and "Shiftling Button Active", the game won't report any conflicts (as the functions shouldn't conflict either way)
- 2. enter the mission
- 3. make sure your character has ranged weapon equipped and at least 1 piece of ammo
- 4. hold aim button to go into bow/cannon/matchlock aiming mode, then press '8'
- 5. the game will zoom /and/ shoot the projectile at the same time
- - "Shiftling Button Active" serves no purpose in KB/M mode - all guardian attacks work without the need for any shift-like buttons, and any arbitrary combination of keys can be bound to those attacks
- - mouse sensitivity settings at 50% or higher makes the game skip around 10 pixels or so at the lowest possible step, making this setting useless at 50% or higher values
- - if the same key is bound to /any function/ under "Actions" tab and "Gesture" under "Menus/Gesture Menu: Switch Mode" tab, choosing any gesture under switch mode with this key will hardcode the key to quick attack; the only way out is either to restart the game or rebind the key to something else (where it will continue to do quick attacks)
- steps to reproduce:
- 1. bind e.g. '8' to "Item Shortcut 2" and "Gesture" under "Menus/Gesture Menu: Switch Mode" under "Menus/Gesture Menu: Switch Mode"
- 2. enter the mission
- 3. enter gesture menu
- 4. enter gesture switch mode
- 5. call any gesture with '8'
- 6. exit gesture menu
- 7. from now on, 8 will cause the character to auto attack; 'item shortcut 2' won't be functioning from now on
- - if a key used for "target lock" is used in any other key combination, then "target lock" will always trigger after using that combination
- steps to reproduce:
- 1. bind e.g. '8' to "target lock"
- 2. bind e.g. '7+8' to "swap melee weapons'
- 3. enter the mission
- 4. target lock some enemy
- 5. swap weapons (7+8)
- 6. target lock will be released at the same time
- EQUIPMENT REROLLING ISSUES
- - during DotW (ng+++) it is:
- 1. possible to roll elemental weapon damage and active skill damage (denoted below as EWD and ASD) on divine equipment, but
- 2. it's *impossible* to roll those effects on ethereal equipment
- - during DotN (ng++++) it is:
- 1. possible to roll all melee pool category normally on ethereal equipment
- 2. it's *impossible* to roll *anything* (not even EWD nor ASD) on divine equipment
- This is not how it behaved on console versions, and it make no sense to begin with.
- - during any ng cycle:
- 1. rerolling effects on gloves often soft locks itself into giving you only or nearly only "[Skill Name] Damage" effects across all slots
- DotW and gloves rerolling issues can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYlsRtEx4BQ
- OVERSIGHTS:
- - missing targetless camera lock mode - the most natural way of controlling character in a third person perspective games on KB/M; basically your actions/attacks go towards center of the screen(camera) - analogously to how they go towards focused target in "target lock" mode - but it remains freely controllable with the mouse games such as Rune (3d viking-theme action game from ca. 2000) or even Tera (more recent mmo from few years ago) rely on such approach natively.
- Example of the concept:
- - every function should be bindable to at least 2 keyboard keys and 1 mouse button; in this context even Nioh 1 allowed more (sometimes far more - some functions could be bound to 3 separate keys and 3 separate mouse keys if desired) flexibility than Nioh 2; meanwhile Nioh 2 offers at most 1 key or (not both) 1 button to bind for most functions
