Cleaning for Shog

>You're married to a Shoggoth
>Wife is out to buy groceries
>You decide to do something nice and clean the house and cook dinner
>Luckily you managed to convince her not to completely envelop the house, at least for now
>Dust off your old vacuum, mop, bucket, and broom
>Vacuum all the carpet, unsurprisingly nothing comes up
>Mop the kitchen, didn't really do much besides give it a new shine
>Don't even bother with the broom
>Every spot of the house is spic and span
>So you decide to move onto dinner
>You know your wife doesn't really need to eat but you still make something for her anyways
>You finish spicing the Cornish hens and toss then into the oven
>The potatoes are boiling still and you want them as soft as possible before you mash them
>The carrots and peas are steaming and you want them equally as soft
>Now all you have to do is wait
>Wait, you never cleaned the basement
>Your wife always said to never enter the basement but you'll be damned if you won't make this house as clean as humanly possible
>Walk down to the basement with vacuum and broom in tow
>But it's completely pitch black, and the lights don't work
>Nonetheless you walk down and just as you pass the final step your foot gets stuck in some thick black goop
>Did the shunt pump break?
>Was your wife trying to fix it all by herself?
>You set down the supplies and pull out your phone to light the darkness
>But still nothing, it's as if the darkness is suffocating the light itself
>Even in the dark you manage to trudge your way to the corner where the pump is, or at least where you remember it was
>You get on your hands and knees reaching deep into the well
>But you feel the pool of ichor shift and twirl
>You turn around to see a figure rise out of it, a Shoggoth
>She look a lot like your wife, and sorta like you
>Her body takes form and her yellow glowing eyes finally light up
>She notices you and opens her many mouths
>"Papa?"
>She helps you up and hugs you, pressing her head into your chest as you feel tentacles wrap around you
>You remember that documentary on slimes a while back
>They don't really give birth as much so as they just split once they get big enough
>But now there's only one problem
>You're gonna have to cook another hen for her
