Tonon thing

You continue flying idly to the extraction point, not really caring whether or not you pay much attention to anyone else. You have a goal in mind - a goal that involves... [i]the bone zone[/i].

"Hey, Chari," you say, as you finally pull into position, a full half-kilometer from where Zorathex and the others are beginning to cluster. "You know, after all this mess is over, want to hang out? I feel like we've gotten pretty close over this mission. Maybe we could do something fun afterwards," you add, your intonations pitched to hint at your intentions. You're pretty sure she's fallen for you by now.

Chari's response is swift. "What? Really?? No, not on your life," she says in disgust. "I probably won't even see you again after this mission is over."

"Oh, come on, baby girl," you plead in your smooth voice that's never failed to charm. You look over at her ship nearby - Taepilus's, rather - and eye her through the canopy. "I saved your life, remember? At least let me get you a drink?"

Your attempts at wooing are violently interrupted as Dinosawer's CASKET shakes violently in a spray of debris as a missile explodes against the front of the hull, barely in front of the canopy. "What the hell?!" you shout out in surprise. "Oh, [i]hell[/i] no, not this again!" you groan. On the plus side, it's not even your CASKET, so you don't really have anything to lose, and you look back towards Chari in Taep's ship. "I'm hit, Chari, but I'm fine. Look at me here, protecting you. That missile could've hit you, you know? That's a second time, right? You [i]owe[/i] me a drink."

But Chari says nothing. "Hey, Chari, this isn't funny," you say, slightly irritated. "Come on, Chari, answer me? Baby girl?" Still not a word from her. "Please?" You look over in her direction; she looks back and you see her mouth moving through her cockpit window, but don't hear a sound. Then you realize - you don't hear anything at all. Your comm systems must be dead. "What the hell?!" you shout out. Dinosawer's craptastic ship has failed on you. It seems ships dislike you in general - probably a minor thing, in exchange for girls loving you so much. You could win Chari over, sure - but how can you if she can't hear you? She [i]needs[/i] to hear your voice.

The cockpit shakes, rocking violently; the canopy cracks as a string of missiles fly across it, ripping gashes into the hull; another missile hits, ripping apart Dino's scythe and robotic arm.
