A TIMELINE OF THE EVENTS IN JADED:

A travel order to the ALTERNIAN-VERDANT was issued to ten million trolls three months ago by the Grand Highblood. These trolls received notarized documents with his official seal and a standard letter instructing them that they have had their posts reassigned to ALTERNIA-VERDANT.

Interstellar travel to the far-off planet eats up two months of your time. Characters have been on the VERDANT for roughly a month when calamity finally strikes. A virus known only as the TK virus began passing through the Empire starting about a week after you arrived on-planet. The virus has taken roughly three weeks to kill off the entire troll population separate from those on Verdant; when the roleplay starts, it's been
1. Roughly a month since you arrived;
2. Roughly three weeks since the TK virus began spreading through the Empire;
3. Days since the last non-immune troll was confirmed to have succumbed to the virus.

The Grand Highblood is presumed deceased due to his presence on Alternia, unless he is one of very few immune trolls, which is extremely unlikely.

Currently the planet is occupied by ten million Alternian or colony trolls, and ten million native trolls. The most recent changes to official law have been
1. The cessation of the culling of mutant grubs due to the underpopulation problem;
2. The upping of mandatory contribution to the slurry to roughly every two Earth months.
