  52. A thriller centered on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.
  53. The teenager Nathan feels outcast at home; has nightmares; and is shy. His father practices self-defense with him; he has consultations with the psychologist Dr. Bennett; and he has a crush on his classmate and next door neighbor Karen (<a href=">Lily Collins). When he finds a website with photos of missing children with Karen, he suspects that he might have been adopted. He also contacts the site and the attendant locates him and calls Nikola Kozlow in Europe and the guy travels with his gang to USA. Soon his mother discloses that she is his foster mother but his parents are murdered by two criminals. Before dying, his father tells him to run away. He takes Karen to the hospital and Dr. Bennett tells him that he is in danger and gives an address in Pittsburgh to him with the names of two persons that he can trust. Now Nathan and Karen are hunted down by Kozlow and his men and also by the CIA. The teenagers do not know who is reliable and travel to the address Dr. Bennett gave to them.
  54. I thought this was an excellent film overall: well acted, well chosen cast, good story-line and a good balance of action and drama.<br/><br/>I found the story-line was intriguing from early into the film and the actors felt convincing in their roles.<br/><br/>There are some moments where the film lacks a little credibility, but not so much as to ruin the film in anyway.<br/><br/>I believe there will be many more opportunities for Lautner to follow up with similar, action-type roles. In my view his acting was generally really plausible - at times brilliant! <br/><br/>I would definitely recommend watching it.
  55. I&#39;m giving this movie a generous 5 because there&#39;s a lot to be said for an action movie with this kind of star power behind it. John Singleton did what he was supposed to do, the actor&#39;s hit their marks, but the dialogue was so stilted &amp; ridiculous, there was no way to save this movie. Truly, I blame the script. The idea of the story is great - a high school kid finds out he is one of those kids on the side of the milk carton? That&#39;s pretty powerful stuff to teens who may be experiencing the &quot;Who Am I&quot;s before even entering the theatre. However, good movies make us care about the people in them. And you do that with a good script. Abduction is convoluted and borrows heavily from the Mission Impossible &quot;NOC list with traitor on the inside,&quot; story. But what really kills this movie is the horrible dialogue. The best scenes are with Jason Isaacs and Maria Bello - we want more of them, but alas, they are killed in the beginning and we never see them again. It would have been nice to explore, even briefly, what led Nathan&#39;s father (played by Dermot Mulroney&#39;s mouth) to place his son with them &amp; Dr. Bennett. And what about Sigourney Weaver&#39;s character, Dr. Bennett? Sigourney Weaver is a great actress and ill used as pure exposition in this movie. The last scene in particular has such awful dialogue it&#39;s a miracle the actors didn&#39;t just shrug and walk away. The premise, plot &amp; cast had promise, but bad dialogue will take a film off the rails every time. Stiff acting doesn&#39;t help, and teenage boys are stiff &amp; awkward sometimes so that is more excusable. Note to scriptwriters: actually read out loud what you write. If it feels stilted, it is.
  56. Abduction is just the third movie John Singleton has directed in the past decade, and it contains neither the passion nor the competence of his two previous genre efforts - "2 Fast 2 Furious" and "Four Brothers."
  57. Nathan Harper (<a href="/name/nm1210124/">Taylor Lautner</a>) finds a photo of himself on a website for missing persons, so he and his friend Karen Murphy (<a href="/name/nm2934314/">Lily Collins</a>) set out to uncover the truth about his life. Contacting the site to learn more about himself results in Nathan becoming the target of an intense international manhunt involving the CIA, his therapist Dr Geraldine &quot;Geri&quot; Bennett (<a href="/name/nm0000244/">Sigourney Weaver</a>), Serbian terrorists, and his real father Martin Price (<a href="/name/nm0000551/">Dermot Mulroney</a>). The script for the movie was based on a story idea by Jeremy Bell. The screenplay was written by American screenwriter and frontman for the rock band Stellastar Shawn Christensen. &quot;Come On, Get It&quot; by Lenny Kravitz.
