- [02:20:09] It seemed to the Hirano boy that Hendrix was an easily flustered individual. Releasing the hold on him, Friedrich took a step back politely, letting the wounded chap struggle in vain for as long as he needed to feel content with the embarrassment.
- Eventually, a favor was requested.
- Jade eyes glanced aside to the blade discarded onto the ground by Hendrix in his fall from prior. Craning his neck while examining the sword, the boy tilted his head with a nearly cocky lean to one side, "What an interesting tool."
- Walking towards the item, the boy crouched low. With a lean at the waist, he hunched closer to the dull reflection of the cold steel's sheath. Lifting it up by the handle, he drew out the sharp edge partially by the top, further examining the cold sheen hidden beneath the scabbard.
- Almost blinded by the ray of light reflected off, he squints an eye, whistling.
- "Impressive..."
- Friedrich walks back to the Este boy and hands it over after taking to a knee on the ground beside him again.
- "Here, friend."
- (Friedrich Hirano)
- [02:21:52] Nefertari: Friedrich can i join you guys]
- [02:21:52] Friedrich Hirano: (sure)
- [02:21:52] Nefertari: [il lwait for hendrix before i join so i can get a jist of things]
- [02:23:34] Nefertari: [friedrich style sort of reminds me of roomy outside the block paragraphs]
- [02:23:34] Nefertari: [just the word choice feels very roomy]
- [02:24:25] Friedrich Hirano: (I'll take it as a compliment)
- [02:25:16] Nefertari: [its more an observation. Im tyring to figure out who you are]
- [02:25:16] Friedrich Hirano: (I've been here longer than Roomy has, just as a hint)
- [02:26:08] Nefertari: [Mastoz or EoD maybe...]
- [02:27:50] Nefertari: [i cant see your desc style]
- [02:27:50] Nefertari: [OH]
- [02:27:50] Nefertari: [Cami[]
- [02:28:41] Nefertari: [EoD nor mastoz use the breaks in their paragraphs for dialogue like that]
- [02:29:32] Ever grateful, he takes the blade without a second thought. Planting it firmly into one of the wider cracks in the pavement he begins to hoist himself up. It is an act that does cause him some grief, written all there on his face as he lets loose with a few beads of sweat accumulating at the top of his brow.
- In the end, he is triumphant! Now on his on two feet, and cane once more he gives Friedrich the old one-two look over, and downward. Not in an attempt to size him up -- ready to thank his last minute savior, he breaks out with a smile.
- "I appreciate that." Both his gesture, and his words. They were a good twist after a string of misfortunes along the way. "You were playing that music earlier." Looking down at that hand clenched around the Harmonica, remembering how it had caught his attention.
- "It was... New." With no other way to express it, he sticks to basics; a new sound, and a new tool used to make it -- he didn't hate it yet, and he thought it was neat so far.
- (Hendrix Este)
- [02:29:32] Friedrich Hirano: (I did it once in the third paragraph.)
- [02:29:32] Friedrich Hirano: (Where I didn't use the break, that is.)
- [02:33:48] Friedrich Hirano: (I'm not cami, no...)
- [02:36:22] Hendrix was the man Nefertari was looking for! Or boy, in this case. It wasn't like he was a fullgrown man or even close to it.
- Anyway Nefertari had a favor she wanted to ask of him, and in her arms was clearly an indication of what she had wanted to ask him. While she didn't necessarily believe he could do a stellar job; she knew where to find more of the material she needed if anything bad happened or the result was unsatisfactory. "Hendrix! Hi---Oh man you kinda look sick." She commented before continuing along.
- Obviously if he was out in public talking to other kids he wasn't sick or hurt too bad, which meant she could pester him. "Since your a blacksmith-in-training do you know how to do wood-carving?" She paused, shaking the object in her hand. It was very clearly a nice sized branch. If Nefertari wasn't magi-blooded it'd be unlikely a log this size could be lifted by a girl her size. It was black-barked with a more sickly coloration on the interior of the wood that was a more violet hue.
- "Can you turn this into a wooden spear? I figured if you do good enough you can be the Spelunker's official smith! I can start bringing you stuff to make for us. Which will make you have a profitable business and get the experience you need to make-super cool legendary weapons."
- (Nefertari)
- [02:38:04] Nefertari: <*Tunnel-visioned on Hendrix and accidently ignored Friedrich. Woops.*>
- [02:38:04] Nefertari: [was gonna red-texted at you but im kind of unfocused]
- [02:38:56] Nefertari: [this means i clearly need more tea]
- [02:38:56] Nefertari: [give me a few minutes]
- [02:44:54] Friedrich smiled in response to Hendrix' gratitude. He had always been coldly composed, and even now he stared at the Este boy in his usual aloof manner, something many would consider 'taking from the father' when it came to personality.
- Not for long, though.
- Slowly turning his head, Friedrich heard a sort of familiar voice originate from behind them as Nefertari appeared once more - she knew yet another one of his newly gained acquaintances...?
- Narrowing his gaze at the block of wood she had presented, the boy's sangfroid doesn't dissipate, no. It intensifies as he juts a hand out in front of Hendrix, impeding her from reaching him.
- With a final step, he steps in front of them both, barring her from reaching him, "Halt."
- Palms up, the boy's expression turns stern - almost as if he's scolding her.
- "This boy is injured, you shouldn't make him do anything even if he's a--," Friedrich turns his head around to glance at Hendrix, "Whoa, you're a blacksmith?" Shaking his head a bit, he rids himself of the distraction. Back to Nefertari. "Anyways, you get my meaning, right?"
- He pushes out with his palm, a protective connotation behind. "He needs rest."
- Altruism at its finest.
- (Friedrich Hirano)
- [02:52:35] He was fine. For the most part - a few broken bones here, some cuts, and bruises there. The work of the Commander of Nostvale's forces was thorough if nothing else.
- "Ahem." Clearing his throat first, he reaches for Friedrich's hand, motioning to have him lower it as he decides it best that he speak for himself when concerned with Nefertari. "Let me see that wood." There is no speaking for himself though, distracted instead by what she brought, as Fried had been distracted by her mention of his budding craft.
- Hand out now, he waits for her to hand it to him -- a few coughs are heard from him, covering his mouth as he does so. Maybe he was a little under the weather after all; unfocused eyes, and a slight teetering of his body as he relies on the sword to keep him upright.
- "I'll see what I can do with it... I probably still won't join your group though."
- (Hendrix Este)
- [02:54:17] Nefertari: [okay sorry abut that]
- [02:56:00] Hendrix Este: [ It's fine.
- [03:00:16] With a nod, the girl was perfectly fine with that. "Maybe you should sit down or something, you don't look to good. But if you can carry it, I don't mind. It's a special wood called Ebony that is good for occult magic. I really want to learn to use a spear since it'd make me cooler and unique then everyone else. And just in case I can't spear things with this, I can also use it to make my Occultism stronger."
- A nod of her head followed with the log being held out to Hendrix. If he wanted to grasp it and hold it he could, but if he didn't after enough time, she'd simply reel it back in, holding like a tender, loved infant. She wasn't going to stress him. "Also it's fine, you don't have to join but if you're willing to be an allied black smith, we could totally use it." No one else that she knew of; had aspirations to be a blacksmith among her group of friends.
- A look was given to the Hirano. A sizing up as she noticed the horns. Man, Dominic Falco and Tinker really had a lot of descendants huh? Either way she'd pull a hand to wave lightly at the boy. "Hi. My name's Nefertari. You can call me that or any short version or cute version you want of my name. I'm the leader of the Spelunkers! Aspiring archaeologists!" A proud, almost practiced and forced smile came to her overall tired looking face.
- (Nefertari)
- [03:06:14] Nefertari's forced smile is met with a hard stare.
- What she saw before her was a carbon copy of Siegfried rolled back a few decades and compressed into a tiny body. As per Hendrix' urging, Friedrich didn't pursue the issue once the boy pushed him aside to gander at the block of wood colored by the touch of midnight, but his eyes never once left her.
- This was a much too serious boy - his face nothing bu joyless, mirthless seriousness.
- "I'm Friedrich."
- That was all he felt he needed to say in the context of the conversations development. Turning aside, the boy began to backpedal slightly, eager to leave since crowds were not his forte. The harmonica in his left hand begins to creak from the force exerted upon it, nervously.
- "Hi Nef...er...tarry."
- (Friedrich Hirano)
- [03:12:12] Nefertari: [but siegfried wa slike]
- [03:12:12] Nefertari: [always sporadically publically happy]
- [03:13:04] Nefertari: [at least as a kid..]
- [03:13:04] Nefertari: [and early teens]
- [03:13:55] This really was a big log...
- Reaching for it, he stops a few inches short of it in the end- the black color was new to him. Her explanation of what it meant did help him along the way, but somewhere down the line he just kind of tuned her out. She liked to talk a lot, and he didn't want to bother with it now.
- "Hmm..." Giving it a small test, puts his hand underneath Nefertari's, gauging part of the log's weight like this. "Yeah, no. Friedrich-" A given name for the boy now, he looks to him for a moment. "I'm sorry to ask this of you after you've already helped me, but could you help me with this log?" Why he asked him, and not Nefertari would always be considered a mystery.
- The way his mind worked was strange -- things seemingly done on whims, there wasn't much else that guided him. The boy having decided Friedrich would do it, and so he asked him instead of her. "I'm Hendrx by the way- think she already yelled that though..."
- (Hendrix Este)
- [03:15:37] Friedrich Hirano: (A carbon copy of the Siegfried now)
- [03:15:37] Nefertari: [oh. I havent seen him lately]
- [03:15:37] Friedrich Hirano: (he looks like a mini him)
- [03:19:53] "Uh." Oh okay then. She could have easily carried it to wherever Hendrix wanted to. But it seemed Nefertari's log would be passed off toward Friedrich if he so chose to grasp onto the massive wooden thing. "I could carry it to wherever you need if you wanted Hendrix, but it's nice to meet you Friedrich." Not entirely, unless he had so use to her or her friends. Maybe the horns meant he did though? For now she'd simply need to analyze the young man as he progressed to see how he acted.
- Regardless if Friedrich accepted the log, she figured that the two boys would go off to Hendrix's workshop or wherever he'd work the material. "Can I uh. Can I come with if you are gonna go work on it? Ariadne had to go when we were hanging out and practicing magic. So I kinda don't have anyone to be around at the moment." Hopefully she wouldn't be considered too much of a bother.
- (Nefertari)
- [03:26:43] Keeping up with interaction was hard, social pretenses were even harder. Friedrich hadn't made as many expressisons as he had in the last few minutes in the past few weeks.
- "Errr." Hendrix wanted him to grab the wooden log for him? "Uhh, I could probably try, yeah?"
- Scratching his right horn, tracing its downwards spiral down to the side of his head with his fingers, the boy contemplates the notion a bit. How was he to lift something so massive with his own strength? He hadn't ever tried such strenuous physical activity before.
- Approaching with slow, unsteady steps, the boy merely stops short of the long, stealing a glance at the ebony bark.
- Looking to Hendrix, he nods, then returns his gaze to the log.
- Holding on, he grits his teeth-- and then he lifts it up with a cry.
- "This is stupid heavy..."
- Ooof. It's slung over his shoulder, weighing down on him cumbersomely enough to make his knees bend. Hobbling, swaying in place, the boy eagerly looks to his new friend's directions.
- (Friedrich Hirano)
- [03:32:41] "Since we're not going far-" He turns to look at Nerfertari, his eyes now focused, and there being a light present that wasn't there a moment ago. "you can come with us. Help him if you want too then; I rather your back go out before his does."
- With that said, he aims to lead them- the click of his sword against the stone pavement below continuing as they are now eastern bound! The trio troupe of children carrying a massive black log through the street easily attracting the whispers, and mumurs of the crowds as they go about the journey.
- "I'm taking you both to the manor." He says as he walks, sure they are both following close behind. Without a need to turn around, the Este doesn't go into much more detail about what "the Manor" was; assuming they either know, or they've atleast seen it before.
- (Hendrix Este)
- [03:36:57] Friedrich Hirano: brb))
- [03:36:57] Hendrix Este: [ Okay.
- [03:42:04] As Hendrix stated such a rude comment, Nefertari's attempts at social niceness disappeared. She would comment how rude it was, that he would so bluntly state favoritism when Nefertari had been nothing but kind to him; but for now she would simply keep herself hushed. Sure the log was large but it was also something that Nefertari had gotten used to carrying about. Of course one end was grasped by Nefertari. This allowed the two children holding it balance out the log and it's weight.
- Nefertari synchronized her footsteps with Friedrich's own, attempting to keep the both of their feet and the weight distribution ebtween them as even as possible despite age and size differences. "Oh wow. Nice place." She did love a nice bit of interior decor. THe hosue was clearly old, but well maintained.
- Getting toward wherever Hendrix had decided to sit, Nefertari took her end of the log, quickly placing it on the table as well as helping Friedrich with his own, if he was having a hard time placing it before the hatted child. "So you live here huh?" She said with a hand raising to her brow, rubbing the sweat off. Carrying the log; even with another person was hard work, especially going up steps.
- (Nefertari)
- [03:48:03] For what it's worth, Friedrich for the first time in his life felt self-satisfaction and arrogance at the preferential treatment given to him by Hendrix. A small smirk played at his lips as he lifted the log towards wherever was requested with Nefertari's aid from behind.
- It was only when the scaled the stairs to the upper echelons of the 'manor' and placed the log onto the long wooden table with a thunk that his smile lessened into one of the usual small ones.
- "Phooo, this feels like working out with one of my tutors..." the boy chirps, wiping away the sweat beading at his brows.
- "So? What're you going to do after this?" There was no indication Friedrich expected a reward for his labor - he did everything out of curiosity, and last he remembered, Saeran told him this is what friends did for each other. "Are you going to smack her with it?"
- A doe-like smile is plastered across his face, eyes blinking innocently at Nefertari.
- (Friedrich Hirano)
- [03:55:44] While it may have seemed like he was just being mean to Nefertari for the sake of, the boy looked at things in a different way -- If he were to have brought harm to Friedrich, the one who aided him when he could have easily been trampled on that street only minutes ago, it'd have been extremely rude of him.
- The fact that he had to ask for his aid in carrying it bad enough, he couldn't let that happen, and so under the buss Nefertari had been thrown in order to prevent harm's way from being a road that the horned boy would travel down. Entering the house he allows them both to traverse staircases first, while he himself ascends with leisure, one hand on a rail at all times.
- "Once you both set it on the table I'll have Atticus bring us food." Before work came nourishment- his energy spent just walking here, he didn't see the point in getting started on an empty stomach!
- "What would the both of you both like?" Looking from Fried, to Nefertari his eyes shifting between them both every so often; their faces reflected in their purple outlinings.
- (Hendrix Este)
- [04:08:32] Once the log was set up a distance away from where all the kids would sit; the girl simply stared at Hendrix. He was sure being courteous despite insulting her just a moment ago but perhaps he had a reason. She'd let it slide since food was being offered as well as him taking a crack at making the log into a viable magic-spear.
- "Uh. Do you any spinach salad? Spinach is healthier to make salad's with. With some carrots, and tomatoes... and cucumbers. I'm not a big meat-eater." Eating meats when not required was not a thing she liked to do. Afterall she was raised in the desert where stinnox meats were a commodity and vegetables and fruits were rare.
- Their rarity only made them more sweet against the tongue and excited the girl when she ate them. A look was given toward Friedrich. What did he want?
- (Nefertari)
- [04:22:11] Friedrich Hirano: (sorry)
- [04:22:11] Friedrich Hirano: (Had to go call the doctor for my mom)
- [04:23:53] "I'm not really hungry, so I'll pass."
- His question hadn't been answered and there were no explosive reactions from her. A mischievous part of him had hoped for this outcome, but the disappointment was just as large when it never came. Taking a seat by the table, the boy just passively looks on, observing the Este boy's actions with a child's curiosity.
- Not much else would be done by the boy in this situation, other than keeping his silence and giving acknowledging nods when needed.
- Friedrich out!
- (Friedrich Hirano)
- [04:23:53] Hendrix Este: [ totally fine
- [04:33:16] Lettuce for the girl, and air for the boy -- Atticus comes into view, having heard these things; he moves away having taken notes of Hendrix's signal for him to get to work on the food. "While he's doing that though-" There was a matter that needed to be poked at more thoroughly, one that he let slip by him earlier due to circumstances out of his control.
- "Where's the metal for the spear head?" Or rocks for that matter! All Hendrix saw was wood, very durable, and heavy wood, but wood all the same. Nefertari had said she wanted a spear; doing this while not simple, was no longer something beyond him due to inexperience. "I can make you the stave portion with what's here, but nothing more than that can be done besides that."
- While discussing plans there seemed to be a change in Hendrix -- his fatigue seems to fade, shoulders no longer slouching, and there is his usual look of confidence returned to him. He was in his element, and as such, able to muster the most of himself despite those injuries physically limiting him.
- "I'll also need to measure you to decide it's length, and we'll need to take a look at your hands as well while we're at it."
- (Hendrix Este)
- [04:41:48] Oh right. Most spears had metal or stone points, didn't they? that was probably something she should have thought about but... maybe it could be worked with anyway? "Oh right. Hmm. Well I mean with occultism used to enchant the tip of it or if in the hands of a Nature magi, I am sure the weapon could work as good as a stone or metal spear if not better than some metals. Maybe just make it a wooden point? Would also keep it being stable throughout and more light-weight right? It'd also make it a bit different than most spears." Wooden spears were a thing, but were usually not made to be sharp enough to pierce or cut and to be used for training.
- However Ebony; due to being occultic in nature was the Magi of trees, pretty much how Nefertari saw it at least. It was naturally stronger than most wood. "Do you think that can work? I'm not the weapon expert here." It was really up to Hendrix, but perhaps her ideas would work.
- But then when Hendrix commented about fitting it to her body length and height; the girl stood up extending open palms. The scarred right hand and the normal left hand visibly had slightly longer fingers than most girls her age, and she was a tad bit taller than most girls her age as well. A tilt of her head was given as she waited for measuring tapes or whatever needed to be applied. "This is the first time I'm getting a weapon custom made so sorry if I don't know what to do. Next time when I get it upgraded by you or get new weapons made I'll remember."
- (Nefertari)
