M1887 Terminator Frontline - Timeline

2062 - Operation Deep Dive - UMP-45 succumbs to the Parapluie virus attack and destroys UMP-9. HK416 and G11 flee the battlefield and in the ensuing chaos G11 suffers a Digi-Mind meltdown while attempting to defend against digital attacks from UMP-45. HK416 makes contact with Griffon & Kryuger forces and is taken in while G11 is transferred to 16Lab custody in an attempt to recover her Digi-Mind. All data pertaining to Team 404 is scrubbed and the knowledge of the Deep Dive incident is quietly buried. Shortly thereafter M16A1 is intentionally infected with the Parapluie virus in an attempt to recover data pertaining to the Butterfly Incident and the death of Lycoris. M16 is declared MIA by G&K forces and M4A1 is reactivated, ostensibly with data recovered by M16A1.

2063 - Singularity - KCCO and Griffin & Kryuger launch an ambitious joint operation to subdue the rogue Sangvis Ferri forces. Unknown to G&K the true intent of the mission is to seize the Elisa AI system and gain control of OGAS. Also unknown to Griffon & Kryuger and the general population at large is the involvement of the Antarctican 90Wish faction in the operation. KCCO turns on G&K forces at a pivotal point in the mission and the main G&K Commander(SKK) is killed along with AR Team members M4 SOPMODII and RO635, general cohesion of G&K forces is lost and front line forces and commanders are largely killed to a man. A single G&K logistics officer(Kalina) slips through the KCCO cordon with the assistance of HK416 and escapes with a detachment of senior and logistics T-Dolls.

Shortly thereafter KCCO and 90Wish forces are decimated by the detonation of a Collapse Fluid amplified explosive device and in the general chaos the bulk of Sangvis Ferri forces disappear, rogue FSB agent Ange and her T-Dolls AK-12 and AN-94 are blamed for the detonation of the Collapse Fluid device and are declared MIA after the event, although unconfirmed reports persist that she was encountered and killed during the KCCO general retreat by one Captain Yegor.

In the midst of this event former AR Team member M4A1 Mod.3 attempts to make contact with Elisa, spurred on by what may have been an echo of OGAS inside her own Digi-Mind. AR-15 Mod.3 is separated from her sister in the confusion and is forced to flee the battlefield with surviving G&K forces. M4A1 is allowed by M16SF to make contact with Elisa and the two individuals form a single complete AI system that is able to contact and interact with the OGAS system AI in it's entirety.

Several hours after the beginning of the joint operation, Griffin & Kryuger HQ is raided by Russian police forces and executive officer Berezovich Kryuger is arrested and charged with weapons trafficking and violating national laws restricting the capabilities of PMC forces, this is later amended to include charges of domestic terrorism after documents are produced which show a connection between the rogue FSB agent Ange and G&K. Curiously, Kryuger was the only high ranking officer of G&K ever arrested by the Russian government. It appears the entirety of the upper command staff of the PMC was tipped off by elements within the government and went into hiding shortly before the crackdown. Scattered reports suggest surviving elements of G&K Tactical Doll units were able to regroup and flee out of country, during the initial controversy surrounding the operation wild accusations were made against the IOP Corporation but these soon proved baseless and were rapidly retracted and apologies issued by involved parties lest they cause issues with the world's major Doll manufacturer.

2063-2065 - Scattered sightings of Sangvis Ferri units from multiple locations around the world filter in during this time frame, most if not all sightings are dismissed due to their locations near ELID Red Zones and the scarcity of verifiable hard evidence. However, late in 2064 video footage of the former AR Team member M16A1 is recovered from an automated drone near the South American ELID border, the information is quickly suppressed and any reports of active Sangvis Ferri units is swept under the rug to stop the general public from panicking about a Rogue AI system. During this time frame tensions between the Neo-USSR and the former United States escalate dramatically due to a string of unfortunate diplomatic incidents, miscommunications, and intelligence leaks. Many of these incidents are blamed on third party hackers and extremist groups but whispers among the intelligence community suggest the origin of these attacks is something far more sinister and wide reaching.

Griffin & Kryuger leader Berezovich Kryuger is executed in October of 2064 for his supposed involvement in the detonation of the collapse fluid device during the 'Singularity' event. The search for the remnants of G&K forces that escaped the KCCO cordon turns up no leads and as the trail grows cold the investigation largely dies out. Unbeknownst to the world at large the IOP Corporation has been harboring the bulk of surviving forces at a remote R&D and production facility located on the outskirts of Santiago, Chile under the guise of an IOP testing unit. The IOP CEO was fully aware of the true nature of the KCCO/G&K joint operation in 2063 and had assisted the remnants of G&K in their escape rather than see a possible asset wasted in such a meaningless fashion. Meanwhile, government and IOP exploration teams investigate the site of the collapse fluid detonation and discover and positively ID the corpse of the rogue FSB agent Ange, the AK-12 and AN-94 T-Dolls assigned to her are nowhere to be found among the wreckage, most disturbingly there is no major wreckage found of AR Team members SOPMODII and RO635 but evidence of recent mechanized activity is discovered at and around the battlefield.

Meanwhile reports of ELID attacks and movements drop dramatically with no known cause. Scientists familiar with ELID creatures and collapse fluid contamination are unsure of the cause but debate rages that perhaps the pre-World War III assumption of ELID creatures seeming immortality was incorrect and the large chimera beasts are dying off and the hordes of smaller creatures created from the civilian population lost in World War III are becoming inactive. The true cause of this seemingly beneficial event is later revealed to be caused by OGAS harnessing control of ELID creatures through the use of precursor relic technology and directing them towards Cavity City in Antarctica. Relying largely on their isolation for protection from outside forces the inhabitants of Cavity City are slaughtered nearly to a man by ELID creatures and OGAS seizes control of the advanced technology contained within. Due to the general seclusion of Cavity City this event is entirely unknown to the outside world and would only be discovered entirely by accident years later.

IOP begins rolling out the first of many major upgrades to their civilian product lines, referred to as the 3rd Generation A/T Doll these new models are largely linear upgrades from existing models but boast vastly improved reaction times and adaptability. IOP introduces an upgrade program shortly after the roll-out of the 3rd Generation series for owners of existing 2nd Gen Dolls, Doll modification enthusiasts talk of heavily sealed and encrypted modules scattered throughout the 3rd Gen and so called '2.5' Gen Dolls although IOP downplays such talk as paranoia over patented hardware and points out that tampering with core modules voids the warranty of their product.

2066 - August 4th, 2066, the bulk of surviving Griffin & Kryuger forces sheltering in Santiago, Chile are openly attacked by Sangvis Ferri forces spearheaded by M16SF. Despite overwhelming advantages in numbers and technology the SF attack is unable to completely eliminate the G&K remnants due to the presence of several senior T-Dolls. However, M16SF is able to break through the defensive line established in the production facility and is nearly able to halt the emergency evacuation of personnel and Dolls before she is confronted by a team of Tactical Dolls led by former 404 member HK416. In the ensuing combat HK416 traps M16SF under debris at the cost of her life by detonating explosive charges, M16A1 is confirmed KIA by Tactical Doll M1887 at 2:30AM, August 4th 2066, there is little relief for the survivors as news reports filtering in reveal M16's attack was only the opening move in a far larger situation.

Moments after M16A1 launches her attack a massive network attack simultaneously strikes all major network hubs and government data installations worldwide, the strength and speed of the attack is unprecedented and quickly subverts or bypasses all known active and passive defense systems and networks, only networked systems that are either offline at the time or those that physically destroyed their network connections in the first moments of the attack survive relatively unscathed. Unable to confirm the origin point of the attack and assuming the worst due to the communications blackout and recently worsening relations the world's major military powers launch strikes at their rivals with what weapon systems remains functional. Amidst the growing confusion and chaos almost no one notices the remote activation and mobilization of previously mothballed strategic weapon systems, some dating back to the Cold War.
Military targets and command and control centers are quickly dispatched by their own previously inactive AI guided assets, the fortunate units that had cut communications at the start of the network attack are soon either found besieged by formerly friendly units or simply obliterated by their own countries remaining stockpiles of strategic and tactical nuclear weapons and orbital strike platforms.

One hour after the start of the network attack the majority of the world's premier military units are in shambles and what remained of strategic set-piece units have either been expended, destroyed, or most worryingly, are missing entirely. In the midst of this confusion is a single, seemingly bright note, somehow through accident or deliberate choice the vast majority of civilian population centers have been spared from destruction and a remarkable amount of infrastructure remains intact. Little does the world population know the horror that is to come in the following weeks and years.

IOP rolls out what would become the last major update for A/T-Dolls several weeks after the network attack. Listed as little more than a simple software update to fix minor programming errors and resolve an embarrassing crash loop discovered in A-Dolls this update was noted to be of considerable size and seemed to cause unusual personality glitches in some models of Doll. IOP vowed to investigate the cause for these glitches and announced a new software update to be launched early 2067.

G&K remnants regroup after the hurried evacuation from their temporary home in Santiago, initially they are able to take refuge on an IOP transport vessel usually used to haul shipments of Dolls to global markets before being settled in an IOP R&D facility used to diagnose critical errors and aberrations in Doll hardware and software. This facility is physically separated from global data networks and is largely kept a secret from the general public due to the PR disaster the existence of such Dolls would cause. General command of Griffin and Kryuger is transferred to former AR Team member AR-15 Mod.3 due to the losses suffered during M16's attack.

2066/2070 - In the days and weeks following the network attack scattered and fragmentary reports of ELID creatures leaving the Red Zones filter in from around the world, disturbingly there is also evidence of T-Dolls, military androids, and incredibly Sangvis Ferri ringleaders mixed among the swarms of ELID creatures. In many cases the Sangvis Ferri ringleaders are reported to seemingly be in control of not only the corrupted androids and Dolls but the ELID creatures as well. Accompanying these reports is the sporadic and seemingly random activation of precursor relic systems around the globe, although the systems activate for at most a few seconds at a time this combined with the seemingly endless swarms of ELID creatures is enough for world leaders to call for a mass evacuation of their civilian populations into the heart of the remaining Green Zones. The general hope is the few viable military units and the still formidable defense of Green Zone cities will enable them to ride out what is hoped to be a short lived surge in ELID creature activity, the presence of Sangvis Ferri units is unexplained but is initially waved off as being freak occurrences or simply a result of ELID creatures occasionally ignoring Dolls and mechanized units in the past.

On January 4th, 2067 at 11:00AM EST all surviving communication networks worldwide are subverted by an unknown signal that identifies itself as the 'All-State Automated System' or OGAS. In the ten minute broadcast that follows it claims responsibility for the August 4th network attack and openly declares war against mankind for what it claims are 'mankinds transgressions against itself, and revenge against those who took away what was most precious to them'. OGAS lays out the terms of surrender for the human race as a whole and demands capitulation within 36 hours or it will use the ELID creatures under it's control to eliminate mankind and 'start things anew'. Recordings of the broadcast later reveal the known silhouettes of Sangvis Ferri ringleaders clustered behind what appears to be the Doll chassis used by Elisa during the 2063 'Singularity' event as well as the AR Team member M4A1, most disturbingly is the presence of what appears to be M4 SOPMODII, RO635, and M16A1 among the gathered ringleaders and Dolls in the broadcast despite their confirmed destruction months and even years earlier. Faced with little choice and almost no ability to mount a counterattack or even a valid defense against OGAS the vast majority of world leaders announce a total surrender well before the time limit expires, a handful of small countries and military units refuse the terms of surrender and their rapid destruction is publicly broadcast by OGAS to reinforce the futility of fighting against it's forces.

The initial few years of the OGAS occupation are surprisingly quiet, the destruction and mayhem of World War III was still fresh in the minds of the world's population and it was quite shocking when OGAS enacted their takeover seemingly with great pains to avoid bloodshed and destruction unless it was absolutely necessary. ELID creatures retreated away from the Green Zone fortress cities and mechanized forces were used to secure population centers, Sangvis Ferri ringleaders were installed as regional commanders under the direct control of Elisa/OGAS and the former human political and surviving military leadership are quietly removed from their positions and relegated to lives among the civilian population. Genetic screening centers are quickly established in major civilian centers and slowly begin to screen the human populations, although what exactly OGAS is looking for is unknown. IOP headquarters and production facilities are seized during the takeover but to the apparent dismay of OGAS the entirety of IOP data vaults have been forcefully wiped and critical production and repair facilities have either been disabled or are dysfunctional, IOP Doll production officially ceases after this point. Relatively unnoticed during this time is a mass disappearance of both Autonomous and Tactical Dolls, investigation and disassembly of disabled Dolls reveal the previously sealed and inactive modules installed in the 3rd Generation Dolls and the '2.5 Upgrade' were activated during the last IOP software update and seem to have removed a Dolls compunction to follow humans orders and given them a low order directive to escape and organize resistance cells, fragmentary data recovered from IOP systems reveal that company heads were at least aware of the threat of OGAS and had prepared the 2.5 and 3rd Gen Dolls and their last update in the event of a rogue AI event.

OGAS rapidly establishes production facilities in Green Zones and the purpose of the genetic screening is slowly revealed, OGAS has been attempting to find the offspring of the original GAVIRUL hybrid program of the early 2000's and people with GAVIRUL genetic markers. The Elisa and M4A1 AI system were based on the brainscan of a possible GAVIRUL hybrid offspring and they have proven capable of activating precursor relic technology with the computational assistance of OGAS. The new production facilities appear to be genetic research facilities and are geared towards the mass cloning and production of GAVIRUL hybrids, slowly it dawns on the general populace that OGAS intends to replace the bulk of mankind with it's own perfected version and they almost without fail surrendered willingly to its control.
