  7. [2017/09/17]Beatrice Baudelaire: There he is.
  8. [2017/09/17]Brian87: Haha, hey there Beatrice. I've got a bit of time. How are you?
  9. [2017/09/17]Beatrice Baudelaire: Her eyes flashed, defiantly. If there was one thing he would have learned about Kat by now, it was that once she set herself on a path, no one could dissuade her from it. That was how she had ended up staking everything on this study, after all. He would see the hot retort rise on her lips, and fall, unspoken. She shook her head. "That's why I wanted you to leave the equipment. If someone found out, you could honestly say that you new nothing about it." She took a deep breath. "You... don't have to help me. I can't ask that. I won't as that. But you can't stop me, either. I'm not going to let some... some lady with a fear of shots an commitment stand between me and everything this study means. Not again." She shook her head. "And there's nothing unethical about it. This is a pilot study. I just need the data for the proof of concept. It's not like I can /fake/ it, not with the chip monitoring all my vitals. The results will be real."
  10. [2017/09/17]Beatrice Baudelaire: Not bad!
  11. [2017/09/17]Brian87: Brian closes his eyes, wracking first his brain and then his heart for all the reasons he shouldn't help her. While it's true it doesn't put a patient at immediate risk and that the data from Kat would be valid, the interpretation would be highly questionable. More plainly, and perhaps more compelling to him was the fact that they'd bother be fired if any of this got out. "Dr. Ilya..." he begins, letting his words drop off. He knows there is no talking her out if it. His choices are to rat her out now or go along with it. If he does go along with it, he knows that between the two of them, they can fake it. "You're the medical expert, so I'm going to ask you plainly and I want an honest answer. Do you really think the adverse effects of this drug are aberrations? Do you really think that the possible good for patients outweighs the cost of the impure research we'd be doing?". He paused a moment more, then continues with a huff. "Who am I kidding. Of course you do. You wouldn't have gone this far if you didn't.". He gives a long sigh. Despite his better judgement, he has a soft spot for Dr.Ilya that he can't seem to shake. "You make it sound like you can go ahead and do this on your own, but frankly, you don't have the know-how to keep the data clean and import the results without raising a red flag. In other words, you do have to ask me for help if you want to go forward with this. We'd have to be in this together. It's the only option. You still want to do this?"
  12. [2017/09/17]Beatrice Baudelaire: WElcome back!
  13. [2017/09/17]Beatrice Baudelaire: Working on a response.
  14. [2017/09/17]Brian87: (Haha, sorry about that. Don't know what happened. Glad you got mine.)
  15. [15:56] Brian87: (Cripes. Now I should be good.)
  16. [15:56] Beatrice Baudelaire: Her eyes met his, and she searched his face for motivation. Did he want something? She had nothing, truly, to give or to offer, as far as she knew. "I... I can't pay you. I don't have anything left to pay you with." That cost her some measure of pride to admit, especially out loud. She had sunken so much into this project. A bribe would come out of her meager food budget. "The only reward I've ever cared about is... proving that this works. Helping millions of people. It's been enough for me." Yes, she could admit it, her pride was on the line, but there was so much more, too. "If it's enough for you, then let's do this. If not, I'll go clean out my desk. But think. For the first time, alll this setup you've had to do won't be for nothing. We'll have outelves a subject."
  17. [16:03] Brian87: "I understand." he replies, his face showing only that he actually cares a bit about her and the project. "I know I shouldn't have anything to do with this, but your dedication is inspiring, if not a little infectious.". He walks past Kat and peeks his head out of the door before slowly closing it. Turning, the metal click of the lock echoes briefly in the sterile room. "If you really believe this much in the drug that you're willing to test on yourself then how can I believe you have anything but the best intentions?" Sitting back down in his chair he checks his watch. "We're still within the window for equipment sterility. If you're ready, you can lay back and I'll swab down the injection point." For a moment he seems almost sheepish. "Usually protocol dictates that I expose the injection site, but you're familiar with the process that I'm happy to let you do it yourself."
  18. [16:12] Brian87: (Did my last post come through? Just wanted to make sure since my connection was so choppy!)
  19. [16:15] Beatrice Baudelaire: (Yeah! Sorry, I'm a bit distracted getting ready for bed.)
  20. [16:18] Brian87: (No worries!)
  21. [16:27] Brian87: (Should we pick up another time?)
  22. [16:30] Beatrice Baudelaire: (Ack! I'm the worst. I spend all this time hoping to RP, an then when I get the chance, I don't focus!)
  23. [16:30] Beatrice Baudelaire: Writing writing writing.
  24. [16:31] Brian87: (Haha, don't worry about it. It seems like we've been getting more chances. Don't feel pressured! I just want to make sure now is a good time for both of us!)
  25. [16:32] Beatrice Baudelaire: (It is, for at least another half hour.)
  26. [16:32] Brian87: (That suits me perfectly!)
  27. [16:40] Beatrice Baudelaire: The main goal with the chip was to make sure it didn't migrate anywhere, so it was injected subcutaneously, where the layers of skin would hold it in place. For that, the ideal spot was the thigh, or the inside of her upper arm, where it minimized the risk of external damage. Kat sat down on the table, and rolled up her blouse sleeve as far as it could go. For obvious reasons, she preferred that area to her legs. She wasn't about to hike her skirt up around her waist in front of a coworker, after all. "Thank you. This means..." She wasn't sure she could capture what it meant, not really, so she just shook her head. "More than I can say. When this study passes—" She didn't even allow herself to consider the possibility that it was an 'if', not a 'when', "—I'll mae sure you get the credit you deserve."
  28. [16:43] Beatrice Baudelaire: *make. God my typing sucks tonight
  29. [16:48] Brian87: Though not surprised at her choice of injection site Brian can't help feel a little disappointed that she wouldn't choose to 'thank' him with a view between her thighs. "I'm never included in publications, Dr. Ilya. But thank you." he murmurs, clearly more focused at the task at hand. He opens a pack of sterile swabs and begins to clean the area, which is precariously close to her breast. The attention he gives to not brushing it only amplifies the feeling that he is close to it. "Ok. There's going to be a pinch in just a second here. Then I'll run through a battery of tests and questions. Are you ready?". Without giving her time to brace, something he had learned from countless other injections, he depresses the button and the motorized injection white briefly but violently.
  30. [16:56] Beatrice Baudelaire: The idea hadn't even occurred to her. If it had, she would have dismissed it out of hand. As much as possible, Ekaterina Ilya worked to pretend that there was nothing underneath her clothes of any interest to herself or her colleagues. Holing out her arm as far away from herself as she could, she was still conscious of him stepping in to make the injection. When it happened, it felt like she'd been stabbed in the arm —which, of course, she had. She threw her head back, and let out a little whimper. In that lovely voice of hers, there was something undeniably arousing about that whimper, the sound of Kat trying to suppress a sensation running through her. After a moment, the pain passed leaving only a throb, and she took a breath. "Okay. Questions. Let's do this." She wasn't sure if she was coming onto, or coming off of an adrenaline rush
  31. [17:06] Brian87: Brian was surprised by her reaction. While most people reacted similarly he had expected Dr.Ilya to be stoic. A reminder that she is indeed human. That oddly sexual whimper was also a fine reminder of the thoughts he sometimes let drift into his mind about her. At that moment, he pictured her in lingerie and high heels in his darkened bedroom. She is on all fours with her ample backside thrust out. And that whimper was her first time being sodomized. The thought excited him. Attempting to clear his mind by clearing his throat, he helps her take a seat. "Let's get you settled, Dr.Ilya" he murmurs as he moves her down. "People underestimate the injection, but it's actually fairly intense. You'll probably feel a bit woozy. Is everything OK? Are you dizzy?". He keeps an eye on her for a few moments and, seeing that she appears to be her old self, grabs an iPad and begins flicking his finger icer it. "So, since this is a birth control, I need to ask some questions. Purely professional." he adds, almost desperately. "Uh... Are you sexually active with a partner? If yes, how many partners? How long? If no, how long since your last partner? And are you active independently?". Then blushing, he half whispers "I think it's just trying to get a baseline for your, uh, libido."
  32. [17:16] Beatrice Baudelaire: For all that she did medical research, she was rarely a patient herself. She didn't care much for doctors, and spent as little time in their offices as possible. For one, they were always trying to get you into those damn paper gowns, which she had to argue against vociferously over and over. Plus, they always asked invasive personal questions, and got judgmental about the answers. Speaking of which... "Oh dear. Should I answer the way she would have, or the way I would...?" She pondered the question for a moment, then shook her head. "My way. Sets an honest baseline." Her cheeks turned pink with embarrassment as she answered. "No current partner, no previous partners. And, um." The color in her cheeks went redder still. "No independent activity."
  33. [17:16] Beatrice Baudelaire: Okay, I gotta run for the night.
  34. [17:16] Beatrice Baudelaire: Looking forward to getting her first dose and seeing what Brian does with it.
  35. [17:17] Brian87: Mm, me too. Have a great night!
  36. 36] Brian87: Brian tapped away on the pad used to collect patient responses. At first, he had been anxious about asking these sorts of questions to Kat. But despite his initial timidity, and even though her responses were absolutely absent of anything salacious, he found this sort of prying to be sexually arousing. No current partners. No previous partners. No masturbation. Each response surprised him a little more and also gave him an unexpected feeling of remorse. A feeling that something fantastic was going to waste. "Umm, sorry Dr. Ilya, I just want to confirm that I recorded this properly. No current partners, but also no partners... ever? And no independent activity?" His tapping stops as he takes this information in. "Is the patient a virgin?" he asks, glancing at his pad even though it's clearly not an official question. Pondering a bit further, he sets the pad to the side and looks Kat in the eyes. "Actually, that might be an important question. Seriously, Dr. Ilya, is a sexually inactive woman the best candidate for a birth control drug? I realize we'll get safety data, but efficacy..."
  37. [08:50] Beatrice Baudelaire: She flushed, and jerked her chin up, as if in defiance of the question. "Yes, as a matter of fact, the patient is. And there's nothing wrong with that!" Her voice rose a little, and she had to fight to restore it to it usual level. "Sorry. I meant, it shouldn't be a problem. The test is just to ascertain that there aren't any side effects we need to worry about, and that the intended hormonal effects take place. If the hormones are right, we'll know it's working, even without any experimentation." She couldn't help but smile a little. "You didn't think we were going to test efficacy through, um, trial by metaphorical combat, did you?" The initial shock of the shot was wearing off, and she' relaxed a little bit, leaning back. "if anything, it's better this way, I'm sure. No, um, unintended fluctuations in hormonal response because of... activities."
  38. [08:57] Brian87: At first, he had worried that he had severely misspoke. But Kat's return to clinical form assuaged any such fear. In fact, her coy reference to 'metaphorical combat', said with a smile, was quite arousing. In spite of himself, he realized he was starting to go a bit hard. The medical setting had too many innuendos available and he had to bite his tongue to not offer a sexual riposte. "Y-yes, of course, Dr. Ilya. That makes sense. And no I didn't suspect we would be testing the efficacy of the drug as part of this trial.". He bites his lip, glancing from her to the pad. "Anyway, it seems as though you've adjusted to the implant well. The initial shock has passed. If you agree, I can administer the first dose straight through the pad here. Are you ready?"

  42. :06] Beatrice Baudelaire: In a sense, now was the moment of truth... except that she'd long passed that moment, she knew. Even before the injection, she'd been committed to this course of action, body and soul. She believed in this project. She wasn't going to abandon it now. The slight stutter in Brian's voice, which she interpreted as nervousness, even served to reassure her. If he was feeling nervous about this, it made perfect sense that she was, as well. In fact, she should have been feeling much more nervous than she was, so comparatively, she was doing great. With that thought on her mind, she set fear aside, and noded. "The sooner we get started, the better, I think. The chip should have gotten my hormonal baseline, by now. If we get the first dose in today, that's one day less until we can move onto the next phase of testing." She took a breath. "Let's do it."
  43. [09:07] Beatrice Baudelaire: (Also, could you send me the rest of the logs by note or on pastebin?)
  44. [09:19] Brian87: With her final words, Brian felt resolved. With no further ado, he pressed the small delivery button on his pad. The climax he had been expecting was deleted by a series of confirmation prompts, followed by a request for his e-signature to verify the delivery. Finally, the pad pinged and the dose was being delivered. "It's working." he murmurs, realizing he's just dosed his co-worker and is committing to some very shady actions. Another chime indicates that the dose was successfully delivered and that the delivery option will be locked out until the next dose is due. Waiting a few seconds to review everything on the pad, Brian then looks Kat straight in the eyes, resting the pad on his thigh. "Well, it's done. How do you feel? It's not unusual to feel flushing. The alleged mind effects are reportedly difficult to perceive, but patients have been able to detect that something unusual is going on.". Then, hoping to make a bit of a joke of the situation and introduce some levity, he leans forward and speaks with gravity "But of course, Dr. Ilya, you would never dream of telling anyone but me about any adverse hypnotic effects." He waves his hands like a hypnotist, "I command that this is forever our secret!". Then, snapping his fingers, he gives a slight laugh. "Ah, who am I kidding. This drug is your pet project. Mind effect or not, you'd probably keep it all under wraps anyway. How do you feel?"
  45. [09:19] Brian87: (And yes! I'm happy to send them along. Will probably do via note.)
  46. [09:21] Beatrice Baudelaire: (How quickly do we want the hypnotic effects to kick in, and how heavily?)
  47. [09:23] Beatrice Baudelaire: (I figure at least initially, it puts her into a very suggestible state that makes it easy to implant triggers and have some subtle fun with her, but daze-like enough that it's not amenable to just saying "strip and fuck me right now.")
  48. [09:23] Brian87: (Your call! I'm flexible. Maybe everyone reacts a little differently, if at all, so it'd be a surprise.)
  49. [09:24] Brian87: (Yes! I agree with that general approach. Maybe as the dosing becomes longer term, or he finds a way to up her dose, she becomes more of a thrall)
  50. [09:24] Beatrice Baudelaire: (Well, her reaction will be pretty heavily idiosyncratic, I think.)

  52. 32] Beatrice Baudelaire: She knew it was mostly psychosomatic, but she could have sworn she felt it when the chip released a dose of the drug, like a little puff just under her skin. What came next was the strangest sensation, like part of her body had been dipped into cool water. With every heartbeat, the coolness spread. The sensation was lovely, and distracting enough that she didn't even notice Brian getting a little silly. When the coolness had envelope all of her, she found herself relaxing. Her racing thoughts, her nervousness, all faded away, and ever so gradually, she sank back against the exam surface she'd been perched on, her eyelids half-shut. It was like sinking into a pool on a hot summer day, and with every passing moment, her thoughts abstracted further and further away, wrapping her mind in clouds like cotton balls.
  53. [09:45] Brian87: Brian waited for her inevitable, clinical quip to his goofiness. He rarely got goofy with her because she never seemed to get it. Or if she did, then maybe she simply didn't enjoy it. After a moment, he waited longer. It was then that he realized something was wrong. Dr. Ilya almost appeared to be sleeping. His heart skipped as he recalled the reports from the initial trials with the drug. Flipping quickly through various screens on the pad, her biometrics appeared to match the reported hypnosis cases almost perfectly. He sat for a moment the pad trembling in his hands. The effect might be real. He might have simply sat there and let it pass, but her earlier comment on 'testing' the birth control had aroused him and this spurred him to do something stupid. Leaning forward, he waved his hand in front of her eyes. With no response, he pulls his mouth close to her ear and begins to whisper. "Kat, can you hear me?". Nothing. "I- I don't think it's... healthy. The responses you gave earlier today, I mean. I think a woman like you should have a bit more libido. So... let's play a game.". He swallows hard, sweat dripping across his brow. "We're going to try giving you an oral fixation. Anything you have your lips around for ten seconds will begin to feel very good there. If it stays there for twenty seconds, you will begin to get aroused by it. If after thirty seconds, the object is still there, you will desperately want to masturbate with it. The desperation will increase every hour for three hours, with the third hour being worse than a heroin addiction withdrawal. After the third hour or after successfully pleasing yourself, the desire will subside.". He pauses, first thinking about how interest her toothbrushing will be tonight if this works. Then he realizes what the fuck just came out of his mouth, and feels sick, preparing for a firestorm.
  54. [09:48] Beatrice Baudelaire: (Ooh, wicked, I like it.)
  55. [10:00] Beatrice Baudelaire: The words sank into her subconscious like pebbles sinking into a lake, drawn indelibly downward through the hypnotic haze. Her lips parted, slightly, as if to wrap around some object, then came together again. She sighed, softly, feeling wonderfully relaxed. She wasn't the sort of woman who got to relax very often. Finally, his earlier words reached her through the haze, and she nodded. "Mm. Yes, Brian, I can hear you..." Her voice sounded sleepy, distant, like she was answering a call in the middle of the night. As the rest of his command bubble up to her, she just nodded along, the programming settling in. "Whatever you say, Brian." She yawned, slightly, still slumped on the exam table. "This feels... pretty good..."
  56.
  57. If anything, her biometrics looked even further along than any of the previous examples. Her beta waves were almost entirely still. By all accounts, she shoul have been passed out cold, but her theta waves were peaking, leaving her in a state of wakeful subconscious.
  58. [10:02] Brian87: (Lovely! ;). I need to run, unfortunately, but I'm thrilled where this is going. I'll send you the logs when I arrive at the next hotel!)
