56. Master explorer and former US Navy Seal Dirk Pitt and his wisecracking buddy Al Giordino goes on the adventure of a lifetime of seeking out a lost Civil War ironclad battleship known as the "Ship of Death" that protects a secret cargo is lost somewhere in the deserts of West Africa. But while the two cross paths with a beautiful and brilliant U.N. scientist Dr. Eva Rojas who is being hounded by a ruthless dictator. She believes that the hidden treasure may be connected to a larger problem that threatens the world around them. Hunting for a ship that no one else thinks exists, Dirk, Al, and Eva must rely on their wits and their daring heroics to outsmart dangerous warlords, survive the threatening terrain, and get to the bottom of both mysteries.

 58. Seven sounds like a good round number for this movie.

For the most part, it was pretty entertaining. The characters were delightfully well portrayed, and the action sequences were good, but not over the top. The music fit strangely well also.

The premise was a rather odd one, a deep sea "indiana jones" type goes off to look for a civil war boat that some how made it to Africa is certainly and interesting tripe of a story.

But why I don't think that this movie was great was because somewhere between the start and finish of the film (go figure), the storyline somewhat merged from an archaeological adventure to a we must save the planet from pollution.

Not that that is a bad thing, it was just unexpected. But not so unexpected that it doesn't fit because as I said, it merged. So instead of having a subplot, you now have a dual plot.

It is a decent renter, or maybe a purchase if you can find it for 10 bucks.
 59. Somewhat ridiculous plot and occasionally corny script. The movie drags from around 1/3rd to 1/2 of the way through but then picks up and becomes more interesting. Respectable family friendly action movie.
 60. This insanely busy, exceedingly long, and sometimes endearingly preposterous rendering has simply gotten the directions reversed in its insistence on sticking only to where men-who-make-adventure-flicks have gone before.
