- The sun was setting, cool breeze blew into the wooded forests. The weather was changing, the summer heat was no longer more and the cloudy cool nights were becoming a thing. Autumn was soon to set in, it was only a matter of a few nights in for it to settle in its rightful time. The evening sky lit the forest up with flaming embers of light, the sun was giving its last warm gifts to the world before it went away and hid in the darkest of the night for the time being. It is waiting until it's sunrise to shine through again and give its gift of warmth another time.
- Reaper sat on the dying tree branch as it watched the light slowly fade away into the horizon, their ear flicked in response to the breeze that blew towards him. It was cool and refreshing to it, it shook their body in response like it was trying to shake something off before settling down again. The creature had its claws on the branch as it continued to observe their surroundings, watching for any movement or anything that might be of interest to it. It was mostly just observing, not really looking for anything specific, it was lost in their thoughts. Thinking and thinking while they stayed hidden in the tree tops completely camouflaged, their dark and unsettling coat blended in perfectly with the blackened and dying tree it was taking refuge in. If it was anyone else, the branches of the tree would have snapped under their weight or any sudden movement by them but the creature was sitting perfectly still. Barely any movement came from them, it was like they were apart of the dying tree, simply another branch, another extension of its withering body. Its slim and skinny body gave death many advantages like this one, it is one of many reasons why the thing liked staying this way. It was intimidating in its own way, the element of surprise that it had on others due to how silently it moved and traversed its way around. It was like they were death it self, they might be at this point. The only person that holds the answer to this question is them and the gods that they defy and despise so much, if it were up to them. They would have already humbled the gods by taking them down to earth, literally.
- The creature suddenly snapped its head to the side as it froze up completely, lowering its body, compiling themselves to look smaller and more hidden even though no one would have noticed them in the tree tops due to how camouflaged they were especially with the mostly dark sky, they were like a shadow. It scanned the area before locking in on the movement it noticed a millisecond ago, something seemed to be flattering, stuck and helpless but the creature couldn't tell exactly what it was due to branches and still falling leaves covering their view. The creature had amazing eyesight, it could see things from a mile away but even that wasn't very helpful if something was blocking their view. Death loosened themselves up, it wasn't a threat or anything serious do it didn't need to keep themselves low anymore. Though it was slightly curious to see what that thing could be, a stuck animal? It doubts it heavily. It looked more like paper or something of the sorts that got snagged, it either was a bunch of it or just a really big piece of it. It couldn't tell from where they were and that bugged them a lot, it didn't want to investigate it in case it wasn't something interesting or intriguing. Reaper didn't want to potentially waste its time on something like this, it was debating whether or not to go and look. The flattering thing wasn't so far away, it could easily get to it in a matter of seconds if it wanted to. Death simply sighed, the creature slightly stood up as it stretched its long and lanky limbs. The sound of pop and cracking bones could be heard when he did that, he grunted with the final stretch, readjusting his shoulders and a few other bones of his before placing his claws back onto the branch.
- With one singular movement Death was already half way to the thing that caught its attention, his movement was like a shadow. Traversing so effortlessly through the branches and tree tops, barely making a sound or leaving a trace of its self. Its movement simply looked like breeze blowing through and shaking things around, it blended in nicely. If there were anyone around, they wouldn't have noticed its presence through the trees and would have been none the wiser, it truly moved like a shadow. In mere seconds Reaper was where it wanted to be, it didn't take them much effort now that they thought about it, it wasn't sure why it thought this would waste much of their time, it probably will only take a few minutes of their time at most. The creature spread itself, stretching their arms out as they slowly went down the tall tree that they had been on so they could inspect what caught their attention. Their original suspicion was correct. Death had landed on their hands, gently placing their feet onto the ground before swiftly springing up straight like a shadow adjusting itself after a shift in the sun's direction. The corpse stared ahead, what laid in front of them was simply a collection of what seemed like to be posters or flyers tangled up and snagged onto trees, branches, bushes and all sorts of other flora. It seemed like a swarm of them had blowed into the forest like a cloud of butterflies that bolted in trying to escape from something only to get tangled up and spread out like a bunch of falling autumn leaves. It didn't help that the flyers seemed to have colors and accents of orange and brown. Reaper slowly approached a pile of them as it looked around its surroundings and the mess that cluttered the balding trees, it seemed like a bunch of these flyers had gotten blown out somehow, the creature thought to itself. It gently kneeled down and picked up a flyer, it seemed stuck to another one. It pulled on it, trying to separate them but it seemed pointless. The paper simply stretched so Death stopped pulling on it as it could feel it almost give in and rip apart and it didn't want to accidentally litter further by tearing it. Death held the flyers with his claws gently making sure he didn't pierce or tear the paper as he gently and slowly pinched the edge of the top flyer, pulling it down so he could read what it said clearly. He couldn't comprehend what was written on them at first due to them being stuck to each other but now he was able to understand what the flyers were about. They were announcing a flair happening later that evening, it was close by as well from what Death could tell by the directions and other information mentioned. It now made a lot of sense to it why there's so many loose flyers here, whoever had organized the event was probably going to give them to skires so they could join in on the activities but they had gotten loose somehow and were blown away by the autumn breeze before getting clutter here due to the thicker brush and trees. Death looked up from the flyer down what could only be described as a very narrow path and thought to himself that there's probably more flyers down the obscure path if he continued further into it but he didn't plan to as he was distracted now. The thought of his husband, rocket, came to mind and now that's all he could think or care about. He sighed at the thought of him, he had been missing him greatly after he had gone away for a while now. He was wondering when he could possibly see him again, that he absolutely would have loved to go to a fair at the end of the summer. Fairs were one of rocket's all time favorite things to do, he would even participate in organizing activities for them whenever he heard that one was going to be held. Reaper simply held onto the flyers as he continued to think about his husband, he decided it was enough time out in the woods for today and was going to head home now, probably call it a day. He wanted to be back home as well in case his husband had showed up, he didn't tell him when he was gonna be back or how long he was going to be gone for, he hasn't heard from him in a really long time as well. He honestly had gotten a bit worried about him, even though he knew his husband was very capable. He just wanted him to come back already.
- Reaper stood still in front of his house, he was in complete shock to what he saw ahead of him. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, his demeanor had completely changed as well. Instead of being hunchback and gloomy, he was suddenly up right and alert, not moving a single muscle in case it would frighten and scare away whoever that was standing near his home. His ears were peeked up as well, revealing how massive he actually was if he stood at his full height among his surroundings. He didn't utter a single word, not even a sound, he was honestly speechless at what he was seeing, he didn't know how to react which was completely out of character for him as he always had a full step plan and act to every situation he might find himself in expect this one. He wasn't expecting himself to be faced with this situation so soon, he had thought many times of how he would react if he were in this situation but he never had an answer to it at the end of his thought process. It never knew how it would react, what it would do and now it had an answer to it. It simply would stare, stand still like it wasn't sure, wishing to not be perceived but at the same time wanting to be acknowledged by whoever was there. The thing, or person that was standing in front of Death's domain was a skire, a CCCat to be precise. The CCCat was holding a few bags, on its back and a crossbag like bag around their neck. The skire turned its head, finally noticing Death presence and smiled in absolute joy and excitement before it quickly started taking the bags off it self. Reaper finally snapped out of his frozen statue like state and stared still in shock as he watched the skire start to sprint towards him and shout "REAPER!" making him slightly nervous and taking a step back as he raised his hands up preparing to stop the skire in their approach and hold him. Rocket had sprinted almost head first into his husband, he almost had knocked him off his feet with how fast he was going. He was just really excited to finally see him again, wrapping his arms tightly around his partners long torso and almost squeezing him with how happy he was. Reaper gently placed his claws onto his husband, tracing them down to his waist so he could hold him tenderly. Both of them soaked in the other's affection, Rocket's grip only tightened as Reaper rested his head onto his partners. He growled quietly, seeming to be content with staying like this forever as his husband began to ramble on about how much he had missed him and that he knew he would be back soon, that he had been waiting for him.
