▹BACKGROUND; jihyun had a sort of love-hate relationship with science when she was a student. according to her biology teacher, biology is superior. then chemistry, earth and space sciences, physics, and maths. she was great at those subjects and found them to be her strong points of interest leading into university. it wasn't until she finished high school that her older brother and his wife had their first child. she absolutely loves her nephew jeonsu, sometimes she'd watch his favourite cartoons with him or bring him a special treat from the local bakery with the permission of her sister-in-law sooyoung. jihyun prides herself on the fact that she mostly taught jeonsu the first 10 numbers and letters before he started daycare. it was very satisfying and rewarding for her so she considered a job teaching and thought it would be the same with high school students. she was wrong.

▹PERSONALITY; armed with a teaching degree and no experience, jihyun is always finding herself in uncomfortable situations. you could even say she forgot what high school was like. her students still couldn't believe there were people out there who had survived 20+ years of school and still wanted to work in one! a few years of university was enough to turn someone into an awkward antisocial hermit. she is soft for her students and almost always lets them get away with everything though she can be quite a harsh marker, having learnt the hard way that biology should not ever be marked easy. jihyun is actually excited to teach her students and more often than not, likes to think ahead and plans lessons in her head. once she's set on deciding what to teach for the next lesson, there's no convincing her to switch topics unless you're her head of department. she's not risking her job over an argument with her boss. jihyun loves biology and will do anything to make her students love the subject as much as she did in high school.
