- Dev --- Resumed Experiments, failures and lectured… (Water)
- Floating within the air as if he were sitting on a chair, his legs crossed and a journal in his hand. The cover was black with only three letters written in the ancient language of runes. 'S.S.S' which had a hidden meaning.
- "Entrée IX, failed attempts..." This was all that he said, everything else would be written on paper, and so he wrote the following:
- 'Though I believed my theory to be perfect, nothing could predict the hidden flaws deep within it. You would think that all one would need are runes and a proper mana circuit to create these... 'Beings' But that was not the case, I believe that in order to find the missing piece, I'll have to embark on yet another journey... Someplace either within this land or far from it...
- Despite my best efforts, it seems as though I may of had a few miscalculations within my golden ratio of mana hypothesis... We will just have to perfect it, and one day... Bring new life to our creation, our Sentinels.'
- At that moment, Orion would close his journal, thinking about places he could go in order to conduct his next set of experiments...
- (Orion Sinclair)
- Orion lands upon the ground with a gentle step, he paces himself around the area, using his water magic to wash away the dust, revealing the very large and vast runic circle he's drawn long ago, each circuit connecting to a tree within the pit and each tree marked with the following runic words.
- Runic Formula:
- 'Merging Trio'
- 'Rising Fuana'
- 'Growing Flora'
- 'Forging Fyre'
- 'Sacred Guardian'
- 'Thousand Year Tradition'
- 'Defender of oaths'
- 'Fellowship'
- 'Clarity the Heart'
- 'Shape of Elements'
- 'Forbidden Obelisk'
- 'Golden Ratio'
- 'Ocean of Time'
- 'Sinclair's Volition'
- Each of these words were carefully placed upon a separate tree, with Orion focused on the task at hand, he'd instruct his old master Song. But while he was doing so, he'd try to channel this energy into the runes, and by his calculation, the application of the golden ration should take effect, and this was his theory, to have more than one contribute to this pouring of mana.
- "Think of it like an Ocean, I need your help in finding the flaws.. By my calculation, if I were to force the worldly mana to spiral to the point of infinity or something that resembles it, something like a temporary life.. These trees should be able to act as skurn and move upon the will of he who wields this mark..."
- He would show Song the mark on his hand, a prototype called 'Volition' in the Glyph Language. Orion was a man who usually conducted such experiments and theorized on the potential of man, so even when he was not training the sword, he would always train his mind.
- (Orion Sinclair)
- [09:20] Myrrah exclaims, "Oh... hello Song! Orion!"
- [09:21] Orion Sinclair exclaims, "Be careful Myrrah!"
- [09:21] Myrrah asks, "Hmm?"
- [09:29] Song listens to Orion idly, his expression mostly passive, occasionally changing as he raises an eyebrow or frowns, not recognising or understanding the theory that his disciple explained.
- He begins to comment on Orion's theory, intending on asking for clarification, when Myrrah intrudes, at which point he waves lightly to her, and gives her a slight nod, before turning back to Orion.
- "Mmm, I don't quite understand the actual usage of the glyphs that you've used so far. Could you explain how they connect to each other, which glyphs are the operators, so to speak, and what functions they perform? How they handle the mana that travels through them?"
- He holds out an open palm as an idle and reflexive gesture, explaining further;
- "My glyphcasting expertise lies in the technical side of things - I focus on the efficiency of the glyph structure, and what could be considered magical logical systems. If you can familiarise me how exactly it works, technically, perhaps I could help optimise the glyph formula... bringing you closer to that point of infinity that you're seeking, though I don't know how to reach that point itself."
- (Eccentric Song)
- [09:35] As Orion continued to pour his energy into the Glyph, he would start to point out the trees, all with words he's written upon them this language of creation sitting by words used with the common tongue..This was all for Orion's way to label and understand each transmutation.
- "That one... Clarity of the heart, is meant for a clear flow of mana, that way the circuits aren't colliding with one another.."
- He points to the one near Myrrah, "Rising Fuana and Growing Flora, these are marked to make sure that this mana forces the trees to grow, much like the merging Trio over there, I've marked each spot for that particular function... The Golden Ratio is our center, how the mana flows and where it goes, everything falls into Volition, which will provide the final outcome... If this theory is correct that is."
- He'd make a gesture for Myrrah to come near.
- (Orion Sinclair)
- Song's face puckers, as he makes an extremely sour expression, and high pitched whining noise escapes his lips. 'how did my disciple end up like this? Our styles are completely different!', he thinks to himself in exasperation.
- "Alright, alright, now, you say this one, the 'clarity of heart', is meant to clear the flow of mana, ensuring that the circuits stay apart, and don't get tangled? This is something I can understand easily. Allow me to take a look."
- Song says this, just before he walks over to the tree indicated by orion, analysing the glyphs along it. He immediately notices that the glyphs are slightly sloppy - still accurate, but it becomes clear that Orion relies on the pure power that he provides each glyph, combined with his unusual and usually highly practical ideas.
- "Mmm, I taught you better..."
- He mutters to himself, as he remoulds the glyphs, splittinga few of them to make them slightly more efficient, and resulting in them being more complex, while also straightening and perfecting any percieved mishaps.
- "Disciple, observe!"
- He calls out to Orion, hoping that he'd been watching from the beginning, but figured that he'd make sure. Song was too immersed to actually check on Orion's location. If orion would allow him, Song would begin to run him through the basics of glyphcrafting again - specifically the areas Song cared most for: precision, and efficiency.
- "If you focus on these rules while constructing your glyph system, you should definitely see a markedly improved performance!"
- (Eccentric Song)
- In response to his master, Orion would take note of what he was instructed to do.. He began to see the flaws within his own experiment. But this would not last for long however, Orion had other things in mind.
- But!
- Before he could move onto such, he would make the attempt to pour his energy but with much more precision than what he's done before... Though this was just one attempt, he'd do so with a passion to succeed...
- Not too long after, he'd close off the link between his runic circuits, allowing the leaf's around to cover the rune marks as he writes down each word said by Song in his notes...
- "I'm sorry to cut it short, but I must go." He nods, turning to Myrrah.
- (Orion Sinclair)
- [08:44] Upon returning to the training sight, Orion thought about what Song had told him, wondering if his former teachers methods would be better than that of his own. He would ponder about this, pacing himself around the area, looking at the runes he had already draw on the surface as well as the trees afar from where he stood.
- "Song believes in the precision of the Glyph, but what he uses it for and what I intend to use it for are totally different... He's a merchant, his best use of it would be to find ways to get a few coins out of it...I'm a man with a desire and passion to defend his home land, to find a sacred guardian or two for our people..."
- Orion spoke to himself, looking into a book, reading up on how a skurn could be forged... He began to understand one thing, that the type of Sentinel he was aiming for, would have to be one of an element related to or similar to his own since he will become the primary creator...
- Even though there is an abundance of tree's, he might not be able to put all of them to use, instead he would focus on the water... He knew that his only base element was water, with little understanding on how nature magic works... Sure he could forge the body out of a few trees, but at the end of the day, he would still end up with a skurn that fire water at the target rather than anything else...
- Orion wanted to make these guardians accessible and easy to call upon, however he let one thing slip past his mind... The Glade was surrounded by water, and much like a skurn made up of Steam, he would have to find a way to conjure up an elemental made of water. Or at the very least, out of wood with the ability to fire water... This just might play a part in his theory of the golden ratio..
- Time to time, he would theorize on the subject, if he would be able to cause a mana circuit within a Skurn to run for as long as he desired...But, would he even be able to achieve such? It was difficult with the After-Image but would he be able to apply this same theory to something that is a half-life? Alive but under the control of a magi-swordsmen. Would he have to mark a certain object or himself with the runes necessary to control them?
- To test this out, he'd begin pouring his energy into the runes around him, gathering the water from the air in attempts to create such a skurn… He has had a few experiences with forging one out of water, but now it just might have to be his primary focus... Slowly, but surely, the water gathered, giving into a shape, floating above the ground.
- As Orion poured his energy into the runes, he would notice a change, however this change wouldn't last for long... Though he was focused, the experiment would end up as a failure, he was missing something, but he couldn't put his finger on it... "Just what the hell am I missing?"
