---EPISODE 1 - Windows
Wow archways really do have a huge presence in this episode, We're introduced to everything through an arch or a window, some sort of viewpoint
Panelling, thats the focus. Utena's path on the left, her on the right
Everyone is watching her from above, like we're in a colliseum observing her trials
her seeing anthy for the first time is the only time a window/arch is closed to her
Oh, heres that scene, the open window observing her future, that the other girl pushes her towards
And its her letter later that provides the means for her to walk towards that future herself, some nice foreshadowing
They are being watched by the rose
the blue haired girl still freaks me out
That shot of where the council meets is the first 'open air' shot that we've had
man even when Utena is outside she's still being overshadowed by the arches closing her in
I still love how stupidly fancy the water feature into the forest stadium is
oh yeah, I forgot about the upside down castle
Oh shit, is the prince who gave Utena the rose seal Anthy's brother? or relative
not super pleased with my current subs, but too lazy to find new ones
okay I kinda like the battle insert song this time around

---EPISODE 2 - Bars/Cages
Okay, onto the new shit, wtf next
all the normal arches and introductions are still present, she hasnt changed that much... yet
the facial expressions in thos show are amazing though, especially utena's shocked one
one by one the shadows of the council in the barred elevator
entering the castle is the goal here, according to cryptic letters
and why is that girl timing and measuring everything? finding a pattern? a crack in the game?

and of course this would be where anthy lives as well
Utena puts herself on the same level as anthy, seeing the burden on her back

---EPISODE 3 - arches again
I like that the opening narration of her past now suggests her choice to be a prince is bad
She walks to school outside of the arch way corridor now, under the sun but lined with people
She tells Anthy not to worry about the rose bridge stuff and finds herself under archways again
Meeting with the other councsil members the arches are still there but she breaks their barrier
ahhhh, she didn't know about the rings the others have, nice music cue to, the ethereal confusion
okay Touga is indeed a bit of a creep
again with this damned elevator and this same fucking quote, why show why
Utena looking out the window again, at Touga this time, who pushes her now?
SAME girl, oh, and pushed her futher, does she also provide a plot push today
Ahahaha, cute direction on that, hes a playboy so hes in shadow while the girls are exposed
OH GREAT and now Anthy's being slapped by chicks as well, fucking hell she cant catch a break

Oh shit, dual with the blue girl, this came outta no where, wtf
There are those divisions in the shot layout again, anthy in the center, utena and blue girl seperate
oh, blue girl is a musician, okay, thats cool, no wonder shes obssessed with timing
Oh god my subs are shit, they have Miki and Mickey
Wow, Sakuga on the piano key, thats impressive
and yet blur animation effects on her when shes playing, such a contrast
OH LOOK, Anthy being slapped because of Miki this time, for fucks sake this is getting silly
Miki joined Anthy in the center panel, shes on her side, alienated from the group

Oooh, well thats differant, the puppets narrating a fight between the girl and Miki in a caged room
same panelling in the piano room, but this time they are all together rather than split up
really, measals on concert day, been there, that actually really sucks
Oh look at the bars across the house, the young girl bound by expectations
Ahahahahaha, watching the metronome and they animated the eyes too, I love it
Oh look at how the panelling relationships change once Utena confronts Miki, Anthy is bound by her position as the rose bride and not part of the conversation
