Plans for the Near Future

For the first time since 2015, I will not be going to the next GDQ event.

Initially, I was going to go to AGDQ 2017 regardless of whether or not I got any of my runs in, but that was before I started full-time streaming.  Not saying my funds don't allow for it, but the smart decision in this case is to continue to raise/save money for future events that I can participate in (and also pay my bills because adult things).  I think that's probably the more disappointing aspect for me personally, since I only get to see my speedfriends at these events.

I made a tweet earlier that I meant; you don't need to get into a GDQ event to be a good streamer.  And, yes, I mean streamer, not speedrunner.  GDQs aren't the end-all be-all of streaming (though yes, to be fair, they can go a long way in contributing).  Don't forget you have people who go out of their way to interact with and watch you!  Always work hard to maintain a good relationship with them and success of varying levels will always come to you.  It's just a matter of time!

With that sappy shit out of the way, I'm at a crossroads.  For the first time in 2 years, I don't have to focus on specific games because they got into an event.  I can actually work on new projects and revive old ones for future marathon submissions if I so choose.  I have a few in mind already, and the excitement of this greatly overshadows the disappointment of AGDQ for me.  Here's some potential projects:

- Pokemon Sun Any%: Gonna do this hard when it comes out.
- Pokemon HeartGold Any%: Finish looking into Sentret, extended manip and Blue manip, get 2:03 finally.
- Pokemon Sapphire Any%: Re-learn, see how viable sub-2 RTA is (or at least sub-2 IGT).
- Forbidden Memories Any% NCD: Yes, I'm actually looking into this eventually.  It's pretty relaxing to watch and I'd imagine it's relatively relaxing to play.
- Pokemon Platinum Any%: Learn in general.  Not sure of goal time yet.
- Battle Network 2: Route 2 Star and 4 Star; re-route Any% JP
- Mega Man X2: Fuck you, Caleb
- Donkey Kong 64: Fuck you, 2dos
- Gears of War 4: Yeah, not speedrunning but god damn I'm hyped for it.
- Plenty more that don't come to mind or that I don't want to admit.

There will be other events, and I guarantee you'll see me at another GDQ again, I just need to play this smart so I can keep streaming for you guys and make everything viable.
