- Dalek saucer X-K Beta-19 came out of hyperdrive and hung, silent and majestic, at the edge of a solar system. It began to scan the planets that circled the blood-red sun. The ship carried a task force of 200 Daleks, and their mission was to find new sources of material and fuel to keep the enormous Dalek Empire supplied.
- A constant stream of freight ships carried resources plundered from the worlds the Dalek had conquered. As the empire continued to expand, so the need to supplies grew ever greater, and Dalek task forces ventured further and further into neutral and hostile space of search of planets to ransack.
