Claude fixed my printer

Claude fixed my printer.

It's even a wifi printer, the worst kind of an already terrible technology. As printers do, it inexplicably stopped working, and naturally on the only morning of the year, where functionality was crucial.

Connected just fine, just refused to print anything. Updated firmware, tried different resets but didn't work. Spend next 3 weeks just sidestepping the issue by printing docs on the photo printer, at obscene cost.

And then Claude desktop fixed it, just by me asking it to. I literally just described the situation and Claude started muttering to itself and running a lot of powershell stuff. A few back and forths on some details and now I'm printing.

It's only ask was that I find the IP on the printers touchscreen and do a few clicks in an installer. He could probably even have found the IP if I had asked. And done the clicks in the installer, if I had some WinUI MCP.

The technology is really amazing. I've procrastinated on that awful printer for weeks. Took maybe 10 minutes for Claude to just do it. Fantastic.
