Unexpected Dr. strange cameo by Wong. That was a cool segment a nice use of the portals. Made me think of Rift Apart gameplay segments too.

Kraven really thanos snapped half of spideys rogue gallery huh. Damn. Also brutal af recordings hearing Kraven's family killing each other during the hunter blind/bases. That is some messed up S%^t

Flame sidequests god damn. Cletus got a piece of symbiote for carnage. Glad yuri saved us in the end from fire truck. But jesus I did not expect that kinda outcome to tease us for carnage in the future.

Yoooo Peter said Miles was able to reform his greatest villain. Even he hasn’t done that damn... Wonder if he will in the 3rd with Ock. Love their relationship in the first game. So I hope we get more scenes with him

On the MJ becoming Scream and fight against Peter. HOLY SHIT. This shot up to one of my top 5 moments in the game hands down. Actually nvm Top 1 period. JFC. Brutally honest thoughts from MJ. When she said I WRITE WORDS I DON'T BELIEVE IN FOR A MAN I DESPISE SO YOU CAN BE HAPPY! Jesus. That really hits home. Good lord. And pete oh my lord all mighty. Like he’s trying super super hard not to hit her so much since he loves her so so so so freaking much hurts my soul. I love their relationship so freakin much and I love seeing her helping Pete throughout the game and I DEEPLY love how he supports her here too. When she’s in trouble he rushes to save her, when he has issues he goes to her for advice like in the 2018 game before the final encounter against Doc and how he asks MJ for advice. So to see here. Harry one of their cherished friends symbiote the hell out of MJ to becoming a villain WAS NOT ON MY FREAKING BINGO CARD. Hell this wasn’t even in the comics either nor was it done in the films! So to see this emerge had me gasping so hard and the fight in the neighborhood with the two hashing out their honest feelings is AAA therapy hero vs loved one drama and I am eating this up so much. God man. Back in the 2018 game she was one of the characters I wish had more development and the dev’s delivered so hard here in this fight because its the culmination after Symbiote Pete taking control of his darker impulses and we see the ramifications of those actions when he apologizes to MJ on the phone and is really genuine about it. Along with being there for Pete when his house is being on the risk of being foreclosed due to missing bills and Sweet MJ iirc offers to help, but Pete says no I gotta do this. With the EMF. So in the end during the pete/Spider-man vs. Scream/MJ fight we see such beautiful candid dialogue between the two and WORKING TOGETHER to help MJ out of the symbiote while having Pete promise and FINALLY GET THROUGH his thick skull how much MJ was suffering behind the scenes is such a amazing moment. The kiss in the end was well done too. And I was cheering so hard we got the suit off her. Really looking forward to seeing what their interaction will be and hope once they manage their personal lives in order. Pete with a stable job and paying Aunt May’s house properly along with MJ’s podcast the new normal. I hope Pete will ask the most important question to her. I NEED 10000000000% wedding, Fatherhood/motherhood pete/MJ and MAYDAY DEBUT. INSOMNIAC PLEASE… I’m begging you…

mid credit scene - God when otto uttered the last lines of “the final chapter” I had mega CHILLS on my back. I super dearly hope Peter could reform Otto like how Miles did with Martin Li here. But i kinda doubt it. Doc is I would say Peter Parker’s ultimate villain akin to how The Green Goblin is to Spider-Man. And so if WE see them both team up against the spider-men, i can’t even imagine. Sure the Sinister Six could be a challenge, but when you have some of Parker’s deadliest rogue gallery up against him I shudder and weep for the guy already. And yet i’m excited and filled with anticipation of what storyline awaits us for the third installment. AHHHHHHH I NEED IT

Speaking of which I hope we get at least 5-10+ hours of scenes between Doc and Peter. I really want to see an encounter between them and wonder if Pete will talk about losing his aunt because of Doc. And wonder if he’ll feel guilty since iirc she called him to help peter get a job with his idol. I NEED REFORMED OTTO against Norman(Green Goblin - since I doubt Harry will be the goblin). There’s talk online of superior storyline in the comics might be adapted. And I know I championed it earlier, but with what happen here in MSM2 i doubt it considering we had Pete’s allies already giving him the look during his symbiote escapade. So rehashing similar threads may be repetitive. I’ve seen talk about the clone saga which seems promising so we can get impromptu Ben Reilly and perhaps Kaine? Oh man im excited. If not then Red Goblin might be time for a comeback since Carnage is coming…

post -credit scene - OMG OMG OMG CINDY F%^&( MOON. INSOMNIAC TEASING US LIKE THIS AHHHHHHHH. Sure I was hoping for alternate dimension spider-gwen. But im guessing the devs is saving that for a future trilogy dealing with the spider-verse and perhaps inheritor storyline. I’ll still take this. I’m not well-read into Silk’s background, but from what I skimmed this is a SUPERB way to end things on just as 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man. Bravo. Truly.

Really curious to play web of shadows now since people are calling this game web of shadows 2.0. And I never played that one before. Along with other spidey games.

On the mixed feelings i was talking about for the two villains. They are the lizard and martin li. The former barely has any scenes beyond being used a plot-device character to 1. Being used as a researcher on the symbiote and 2. Add in a villain from spideys rogue gallery to be used as an element to become filler and in effect stretch one major plotpoint. The boss fight was cool though. Iirc the ps1 spider-man games also featured him with a bossfight? Just wish we could’ve had more scenes and learn about his family more, more scenes between pete and conners on their past fights.

The latter martin li feels underused in a sense we get a lot of time with him in the 1st game, yet here he is captured by Kraven to be used as a gladiator in an arena for entertainment whilst trying to stay alive in a ‘you die so i can live deal.’ Miles' leftover trauma of missing his dad due to Li is appropriately apt and the game does touch on that element plenty of times yet the aftermath of helping miles and reforming him feels like a shaky execution. Yes he does have his moment to help the guy help his mentor, but after that he’s gone in the wind. Could’ve been cool to have him roaming the streets helping during the symbiote filled city like how Wraith comes in sometimes to assist. Super freaking cool she can do that. Though man -10 points for leaving the OG hanging on a high-five moment… What happened to spider-cop friendship!?

Harry and Petes relation is wonderfully done and I felt the devs did a good job making us care for Harry. The EMF is such a awesome thing Harry did for Pete and I just love how Pete wanted to ease Harry in the superhero side of things. Also before i forget the Venom segment where we get to play as VENOM was sick as hell. I needed more moments like that kinda. I think Ultimate Spider-man lets us play as Venom? Never played that one, but im curious how the gameplay is. Anyway, the scenes with Venom stole the show easily. Just wish there was more focus on the symbiote filled city. We don't get much interaction besides podcasts and symbiote nests then its back to the main story missions. Didn't expect anti venom suit would appear. That was a hella cool way to solve our venom dilemma. I guess in the Marvel's Spider-man 3 we'll get an anti goblin suit? Much like how the first game we get anti ock suit lol.

Tombstone, Mysterio and to some degree sandman had fantastic reforming. Tombstone I didnt expect at all from a gokart track. While Mysterio I really expected would resort back to his villainous ways, but I had an inkling in the recordings he was being used. Sad to see what happen to him and his last lines to Miles are really phenomenal. Also the visuals were oh so good in the final boss fight. Sandman I thought we were gonna rescue his daughter, but I think its fine she was safe. In the end the memories we were collecting turned out to be lovely bust of him and his daughter. Super sweet!

Miles suit he gets to match Peter with the hair showing... imho sucks. I like the design, but having his hair show and the reason why he got that suit is just smh material. Cmon Insomniac. I dig the carnage suit tho...

Also curious on the spider-bot collection leading to possible spider-verse shenanigans in the 3rd entry. I need Spider-ham, and all the crew to show up!
