Vs Kieran

[21:42] She walked into the dojo, she could feel the amount of mana in the air. She was nervous but on the surface she looked calm and ready.

She was going to have to get combat practice and upgrade her equipment if she was going to prepare for what was to come. There was so much going on in the church that she knew that eventually she was going to have to be moderately self reliant.

"Ok, I can't say that I'm very strong, but if someone would be willing to have a bout with me...I promise to give it my all!"

[21:45] Solon would look over to Seven during a break in the combat. "Aye. I could or Kieran can. It matters not to me." He gives a smile to the lass. He's happy that she wants to learn how to better defend herself.

[21:45] Another intense battle against Solon, though as difficult as it was, it was clear the cosmic magi was enjoying it, evident by a wide grin across his visage.

Though, as it came to an end, he'd been seen breathing heavily, trickles of sweat dripping from the teen's face. "You've got to be the best fire user I've ever faced." He'd state, prior to turning towards Seven.

"I'm definitely up for a spar, and it's not about being strong-- it's about working hard to improve."

[21:54] Though he'd seen Seven around a few times, this would be the first time the two had introduced themselves. Sienna eyes gazed at the girl before him-- she appeared to not use a weapon... or maybe it just wasn't brought out yet?

Either way, it would be interesting to see just how Seven fought. As for Kieran, he'd draw the massive buster sword from his back before pointing it towards her.

"Who knows, you might be the one kicking my butt." He'd state before giving a slight chuckle and preparing for their battle.

[21:57] "I'll make sure that I make that happen...but I doubt it ha-ha."

She began to focus slowly, she hadn't been used to using her holy magic in practical combat. It was going to be hard to focus but she needed to practice properly. She needed to make sure that if something happened, she was ready.

She took her dagger and took her stance...the training with the Order was paying off, she was just glad they gave free lessons to members of the church.

The holy magic in her body began to hum towards her blade, her eyes set on her target, slowly circling him with intent to strike quick and weave in and out.

[22:03] A brow would be risen at Seven's contradictory words, those that exuded confidence but also seemed to lack it. Still, he didn't intend to hold back, after all it could result in sloppy fighting in the future.

Noticing her reach for something that was soon revealed to be a dagger, Kieran discovered that his opponent did fight with a weapon after all, however... compared to his sword, it likely wouldn't be able to do much.

"You should probably work on getting a better weapon, something like that won't help against my blade!" He'd announce before dashing towards the practicing holy mage, though upon closing in, rather than strike with his sword, Kieran opted to use his free hand and deliver a quick cosmic-charged punch, pushing her to the other side of the arena.

"Looks like this will be easier than I thought..."

[22:06] She was knocked on her feet, she could feel her chest almost burst...well that is a bit of an exaggeration.

"OOOOOUCH"

She rose to her felt quickly and held her chest. It hurt like hell but she had to toughen up, a real opponent would have killed her right there. She had to keep fighting and get much, much stronger.

"Ok, Ok I can do this, I will do this. I swear I'll be better this time."

Using holy magic was a bit less complicated in battle then she thought, she just had to have no fear, but at the same time have tact. Rushing in wasn't smart but she still did have to be fast.

Speed was the name of the game...but he was so fast...blindingly so.

"Ok, I'm ready!!"

[22:13] At the very least, his opponent seemed adamant in not giving up, a quality that he could respect considering, he was stubborn too in such regards.

"Good, good! Just keep working at it and you'll get stronger, or at the very least, gain more experience." Either or, both were positive outcomes in sparring.

One thing was for certain, he was definitely fast-- disappearing instantaneously at times before reappearing closer to his opponent, almost at the speed of light.

As things progressed, Seven had shown results, getting more hits in and even manifesting holy magic to combat Kieran! However, in the end things went just as one would expect.

"You're getting better, which is great! I think it's time we finish things, though." He'd state before raising a palm upwards to the sky and seemingly manifesting a force of pure light itself before flinging his arm forwards and assaulting her with multiple orbs of light.

[22:16] What the hell was happening, he was moving IMPOSSIBLY FAST

He would appear and disappear in different locations and she had no chance of keeping up...she had to enquire more...this was too real for her to handle.

She fell to the floor, covering herself from...light? But it was hard...it felt like brick...

"How is this real, how are you teleporting? What IS this?"

She looked up, it was all over....she didn't do as much as she thought she could but she was still giving it her all....still she had to know more.

"How are you doing this, please, tell me!?"

[22:19] How are you doing this?

It was a tough thing to answer, after all-- he himself wasn't too sure. Taking a few steps over to the fallen Seven, a hand would be extended to help her up, should she accept it.

"Well..." He'd begin, before looking upwards to the ceiling, thinking of how to best explain things.

"It's what I like to call being a follower of the Light. Just as one can connect to a star, I... sort of formed a connection with light, if that makes sense."

[22:19] Séven asks, "Light?"
[22:19] Séven asks, "Like actual Light?"
[22:19] Séven says, "WOW"
[22:20] Séven says, "I didn't even know this was a thing."
[22:22] Kieran says, "Uh... yeah, it's sort of hard to explain."
[22:25] "Well, you don't have to explain how, just tell me what you...feel when you tap into it. Please, by all means, come close to me."

She had to know more, but first she was going to have to increase the power of her own holy magic. She was awestruck in the kind of magic that was capable of being wielded by practiced magi.

"I'm stuck just trying to use magic in combat and there are people here that can teleport and use literal light...this world we live in is glorious."

[22:29] "What I feel...?" He'd ask, taking a few steps closer prior to closing his eyes and musing over it for a few moments.

Hmm.

"Well, it's sort of like... a feeling that no matter how grim things look, everything will be okay." He'd explain, thinking back to the very first moment he felt the influence of Light. "It's a force that drives me to fight even when I know that I can't possibly win. Not because I want to, but because I have to."

Though, Kieran's expression would shift to a frown as he recalled Soma. "But... maybe you shouldn't try to follow it's influence. It's something that's almost gotten me killed before, as well as something that cost the life of a great man."

[22:33] "That's very interesting..so it's taking your will literally and putting it into physical form...Will power."

She thought for a moment, thinking about everything that had been going on and how frightened she had been about the syndicate...but she knew that she was going to have more resolve to do anything significant in this sort of situation.

"Again, I want you to show me again...If you'll have me as an opponent, I would like to see more...to know more. Everything has been so scary this last few years and I want to be ready for anything. Even though I don't fight...I have to at least know how to effectively."

[22:37] That was one way to put it, though it was more than just that... at least, within Kieran's mind.

"Ah... sure, It's nice to see people interested in knowing how to defend themselves." He'd remark before readying for battle once more, albeit a bit shaky this time as dark memories crept up from past experiences.

"I'd like to say that by just coming here and looking for someone to spar with, you've already taken steps in the right direction."

With that said, Kieran drew his sword once more, before preparing for battle.

[22:42] Just as before, Kieran would dash around the area, speed infused with both Cosmic as well as Light magic making him quite the nimble fighter.

With each movement, he'd cause a bright flash causing the dojo to light up even more before fading, a speed that made there appear to be afterimages of the magi as he approached before finally landing a blow.

Though, it was a taxing ability, one which left him open at times, especially against one which threatened to slow his pace with time-based magic.

Finally, he'd blink forwards, appearing just besides Seven before swinging his blade in such a way that the sheer force of it would cause her to tumble backwards.

[22:46] Again...

She hit the floor hard, the amount of speed he had was unreal, even her time magic couldn't slow him down enough to actually do any tangible damage to him. It was a frustrating fact that had her wanting more. She had to continue to train if she wanted to do anything significant.

Her holy magic managed to blunt a good amount of his critical strikes...even if he was only sparing. She could at least be proud of that. For now she would rise, readying herself for the lightspeed onslaught again.

This time she would bolster her holy energy and force herself to pick up the pace...she thought she was fast.

But what could actually match the speed of light?

[22:53] Oh?

It seemed Seven still refused to give up, while her efforts persisted, it was clear that well, they weren't really helping much.

While Seven's speed was slightly bolstered by the use of holy magic, Kieran's was on another level as Cosmic magic already made him quite fast, yet he held more.

This was sort of like a test on his end as well... just how long could he endure the strain of light speed? Flashes were made around the dojo yet again, until he could feel it-- his mana dwindling, even with the stars above sharing theirs with him.



Creating a small meteor, Kieran sent it straight towards Seven, knocking her back and ending their spar before he'd fall to the ground.

"I... think I'll need to rest for a while. I was being a bit too overzealous here."

{LOAD GAME}

[22:58] She had taken quite the beating, and it would seem that she had had enough for the time being. Her bruises hurt enough to apply medical attention to herself but she knew that this was just the beginning.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch, OOWWWW"

Each application of holy magic on her body was met with a sting of pain before relief, she looked at her opponent. She smiled warmly, she knew he had better things to do but he had spent time with her, and showed her a LOT.

"Wow, I can't believe something like this is real...I have a few questions to ask if you want to walk to the pulpit. I know you have better things to do but if you don't...err, want to talk about magic and fighting and other combat practices?"

[23:02] Kieran could feel a huge strain on his body... this wouldn't bode well if there were any Syndicate members around. Breathing heavily, he'd come to a stand as the cosmic energy around him began to fade.

"The pulpit...?

I need to go rest for a while, I think I used a bit too much mana." He'd state before beginning to walk towards the exit.

"--But we can talk more at another time."

[23:06] Séven says, "Have a good day then."
