  3. Ondine’s family serve the sea. As the largest trading port in the world, Waterdeep is of significant interest to the Tritons. Ondine’s family have been sailors, traders, seafarers, pilots and wharf hands. Through their hard work over many generations they have established a good name and trading business. Their dock is not the busiest or most illustrious, but well respected and by honest sailors, and successful enough to make the family well known traders. Ondines family keep the faith of their people and work to protect the sea from those that skim it’s surface.
  4. Ondine’s fate diverged from that of her family at an early age. Her playful interest in the sea as a child developed into an obsession. As a teen she felt a deep calling to the sea, and pledged her love to it. Her family dismissed it as the folly of a young woman finding her way, but in the depths of her soul she knew that she had found her one true love, and soul’s purpose.
  5. Ondine became an Acolyte of the ‘Order of Neptune’, to show her devotion and love to the sea. Despite the name of the order, Ondine worships all the faces of the sea god. More often than not it is the goddess Calypso that speaks in her heart, though sometimes the sea manifests as Neptune, Poseiden, or any other myriad forms or names.
  6. While she has not been blessed with the attributes of a great hero, her devotion and faith has been rewarded by the order – she has been trained as a paladin, and is soon to take her oaths.

  9. Legit actually in love with the sea. Not like a sailor, but like Romeo and Juliet with a force of nature.
  10. The tides of the moon affect Ondine more strongly than other women. Ondine’s heart fills with love and hope as the moon fills, and despair and emptiness as it’s light empties.
  11. Ondine seeks to prove her worth to her great love through her works as a paladin, sworn to protect the sea and serve the order.
