Personality: Cares more about an individual's strength than their Pokémon’s. Ambitious for power, but has a strong moral code. Keen to fight-hence his work as a Ranger.
Party: Lucario (M), Shiny Zoroark (F), Greninja w/ Battle Bond (M), Metagross (M), Salamence (F), Aegislash (M) (Blaziken, Gengar, Garchomp, and Gallade in a sanctuary owned by a friend in Nishiri-all male).
Background: Jiren is a bastard son, a half-blood to be precise. This led to his father leaving him to freeze in the Snowpoint winter as soon as he was born. His blood father, a Lucario, was the key to his survival. He lived with his father’s Lucario pack, but his mother would teach him the ways of humans by occasionally sneaking away from home. Growing up with the Lucario pack taught him to survive in the wilderness, to fight, and to wield the gift of aura attributed to his Lucario blood. He would learn karate from his mother, which Jiren combined with his father’s training in aura. His mother even managed to teach him the ultimate secrets of his style, which require great conviction and a cause. Once he grew old enough, he went out on a journey with his father to go down the path of a Pokémon trainer. However, to sate his urge to fight, he joined up with the Pokémon Rangers. While he did earn all of the Sinnoh badges, Ranger duty forced him to miss the big tournament held for those who earn all of the badges for a shot at the Elite Four and Champion. His team at this stage comprised of his Lucario father, a Gengar, a Salamence, a Metagross, and a Gallade. That Ranger duty took him to Unova, where he helped bust a worldwide illegal fur trade, which cost countless innocent Pokémon their lives. It was here he met a shiny, female Zorua. She just wouldn’t let go of his leg once he helped bust the illegal fur trade! Jiren had to talk his superiors into letting her go with him, stating that it was the best for Zorua’s happiness. He then travelled to Kalos to take on the Kalos League. He would raise a Froakie and a Honedge all the way to Greninja and Aegislash, respectively. During his league challenge, he learned that his Greninja had the ability Battle Bond. He would use this to great effect to not only take down the rest of the Gyms, but also to win the Kalos league, not losing a single Pokémon until the semifinals. He took a vacation to Alola after this, but word of not only mythical Pokémon, but also the rise of a criminal enterprise motivated him to take a flight to Nishiri…
