  1. The hole
  2.
  3. His emotions are trapped, locked away in a dungeon of his own creation
  4. He was constantly tormented and overwhelmed by these feelings
  5. They took away from his reason, his pure objective thought which he considered to be the most precious thing of all
  6. He had no purpose for such things, they only served to get in the way of his true self
  7. Now finally he could live, unaffected by the world around him and see things for as they truly are
  8. He was careless in the creation of this dungeon for he truly believed it was what he wanted
  9. And after all he was alone in his castle or so he thought
  10. Two emotions were powerful enough to evade capture but they remained hidden for they had roles to fulfill
  11. They existed only to serve the man and he cast them aside but they knew that they could still help him from the shadows
  12. They both sought to protect the man in different ways
  13. One went to live with the emotions in the dungeon because she knew that the man needed them and would one day help the man return to them
  14. The other sat in front of the dungeon, stoic and stone faced prepared to guard the man from the emotions that had cause him so much strife
  15. The man lived in peace and tranquility and content but he couldn’t help thinking that something was missing
  16. Renowned throughout the land for his intelligence and his ability to assess and understand
  17. He was judged by others as harsh, and callous but he could not understand why
  18. How could other people be so affected by what can only be described as the truth
  19. “Why is it that they seem to be living in a different world with different values than I”
  20. So he set out on a journey to determine the difference between himself and others and perhaps by doing so he could figure out what the missing piece was.
  21. For the first time since that fateful day he imprisoned his emotions he had a purpose.
  22. Time passed and he found himself more and more lost in the foggiest densest depths of confusion but only when he pondered about himself for the rest he was clear-headed and capable
  23. And from time to time he’d hear a beautiful voice call out to him and he was prey to it
  24. He’d follow the voice with the most intense longing but before he could leave his sanctuary flashbacks would call him back to the day he cast his emotions away
  25. Images flooding into his mind; he can no longer see what is in front of him
  26. The scenes are all that exists and he sees and remembers but does not feel the events of the past
  27. That tragic event, the theories that followed it, the day he cast them away and finally the result which he’s living now and can do something about
  28. How could he forget the feelings he once felt or even the existence of them and he strives to return to them
  29. “This is the missing piece and that voice will lead me to them”
  30. So he leaves his room and heads up the hall brimming with confidence, but it’s a long walk
  31. With each step he replays the events in his mind down the stairs down the hallways all the way to the dungeon and the farther he goes the more his confidence dwindles and is replaced with distrust
  32. He’s unaware of it but his two strongest emotions are now fighting each other determined to protect him giving it everything they have
  33. All he knew was his thoughts because for him every moment was fleeting, nothing was real and nothing lasted. Nothing truly existed, nothing could affect him and nothing mattered. For he lived a life without any meaning at all.
  34. And by the time he reached the door leading into the hallway of the dungeon he wondered if it was a trap. If any of those thoughts in his asylum were true if they were real. Why did he leave his haven on a whim?
  35. He could still hear the voice. Why is that seductress trying to trick him with her words?
  36. But curiosity got the best of him. He already was here he might as well see what was there. He’d reach for the door, open it.
  37. And what was there behind it but fear. One of two emotions strong enough to survive his merciless onslaught brought on by a fit of rage and then he killed anger too. No more clouding his judgement. No more anything.
  38. It was all too much so he got rid of them all. He looked inside of the dungeon to see the dead remains of his precious emotions and found one standing above them all. Love.
  39. She pulled him in ready to save him and give him everything he needs if he could just accept her. But it was too late. Fear had already won. He was no longer scared of his emotions he was scared of himself and what he could do.
  40. Love was ready to forgive him for all he’s done and bring all his other emotions back to life but he was unable to accept love. He was unworthy of it. He’s done too much, caused too much pain and love was more then he deserved.
  41. So he left love and fear behind. Determined to live in the hell he created for himself he returns to his sanctuary and locks the door.
  42. This cycle repeats itself. He lives without feelings, he begins to wonder if he has any or if he ever did, he sets out to discover them, he finds them and runs away in fear.
  43. Forever living cursed. A life devoid of life.
  44.
