  1. Lian and Golios returned through the clearing from the area marked on the maps to be where the Druids reside, a look written on their faces that could only be well described with but one word: Done.
  2.
  3. "So, what did you learn from the Druids of these woods?" asked Amy.
  4.
  5. "Dead ass," Lian began, "talked to us for 45 minutes about trees and why metal is evil." Golios opened his mouth to chime in before Lian continued "I mean like, not a conversation where we all had a little part, I mean this mother fucker started talking about trees and why metal is an abomination and didn't stop until the hour was almost up." Golios closed his mouth and nodded. Lian walked to where a bedroll was laid out and fell face first into it, before letting out a muffled "I'm gonna rest, so if any lower functioning elves in the party don't want to dream about fucked up mirrors, I highly recommend not taking a nap for a while."
  6.
  7. To'mas looked at him. He said nothing.
  8.
  9. Amy sighed. "Did you at least inform them to not make camp near us?"
  10.
  11. Golios nodded. "Yes, I explained to them that Rafa carried a rare human illness that was fatal to elves, and so they should not make camp near us."
  12.
  13. "What? Why me?" Rafa asked. "If any of us look sick it's the guy who can't lift a heavy bag."
  14.
  15. "Well, Lian had to do some of the talking, so it couldn't be him. You're the palest so we thought they would buy it."
  16.
  17. Rafa flipped Golios off (in common) before setting back to what he had been doing. It looks like the druids weren't going to be much help, but at least camping near them probably meant there wasn't much to worry about that night. As the party cycled through their rest and watch shifts, morning broke, with tiny cracks of dawn finding their way through the towering trees of the northern woods. Everyone prepared themselves; ahead of them were the Black Woods, and whatever it was that brought them north.
