- I had a dream last night
- There was a part where I was in a room full of computers, doing something. Can't remember what. I was also in a waiting room, with some green goo in my hand. Can't remember these early bits very well.
- I was at a public school, the day had just ended. It was fall. Some school buses drove past me, all in a line. Each of them was painted a different color, solid, over the windows and everything. Pastels. I walked past the school buses, to my left, on the sidewalk. There was a twisted old tree growing up against the sidewalk that had a hole in its trunk full of cobwebs and dead leaves. I kept walking and turned to the left, down a path of matted grass toward a forest.
- At some point I was driving a car, down some back road somewhere. I went past this sign that had an owl perched on it. Pulled into this vacant lot eventually, there was a little bridge across a ditch, by some industrial building. Under the bridge there was a kid in pajamas like the kid wore in WHere the wild things are, except they were this really intense shade of fuchsia. As soon as I pulled up he scampered away like a cat on all fours. It was overcast and a little bit windy, leaves blowing through the air, the ground (gravel with patches of grass here and there) was damp from rain.
- I walked down some path somewhere, and as I walked I noticed something to my left, some kids (10-12 years old? One of them was a teenager) in the fog on the other side of a hedgerow, parallel to my path. I walked into the woods. The fog was actually grey smoke, you could taste it, it made breathing difficult. This section of the forest had apparently been shrouded in smoke for a very long time. Sparse trees with very few leaves left, dead brown grass. There was this huge destroyed skeleton of a building, concrete walls with piles of broken steel beams and stone that used to be the walls that were still standing at the base. The walls looked burned, many of them had cracks. The kids from before caught up to me, evidently, and I decided to walk with them, though they didn't really want much of me, I guess.
- The forest got a bit thicker, brambles and tall grass, one of the kids poked his head into an abandoned shack for a split second to get some air, apparently. I asked if it was safe to go in there, but apparently it was very definitely NOT safe. We kept going for a while and eventually came to some larger building.
- We were inside, it was completely dark. One of the kids had a good flashlight, though. The floors were painted red, but the paint had almost completely been worn away from every surface. SOmething in the building was familiar. We were descending deeper and deeper. No smoke inside.
- There was a room with dead leaves and dust and dirt all over the floor, an old tire, other things like that. I felt like something horrible was about to happen, so I forced myself awake.
