  1. I snuggled with my group, wound together tightly until the break of dawn as I acclimatized myself to their presence. A slow, deep comfort coming to colour our interactions even as the arguments died down. Relur and Atmaz had come, not to an agreement, but to a truce of mutual understanding, even as Borgus kept quiet between them. I couldn’t help the feeling that this was the beginning of something which would stand for as long as these two survived, something that had lit a spark in several others among the group as well.

  5. Even Last, broken as his body still was, had settled in and snuggled close with all the others, listening with a strange intensity to the debate which had been made all through the night. At some point Skizzy had broken away from everyone to set a small trap, capturing an Herbivore of suitable size to feed to the injured Zerg with a remarkable care. Her multitudes of tentacles were each lined with razor sharp edged and capable of dripping multipurpose venoms from every edge. Something she’d picked up from some of my experimented with tail-mods that she’d enjoyed enough to keep.
