- King Arthur, seeing Daniel's distress, was seized by anger and, with
- swinging sword, gave spur to his steed and galloped off toward him. Al
- who witnessed King Arthur's actions proclaimed that there never had beer
- a man born into the world whose strength and anger could carry out his will
- so effectively. We are told that he fought in such a way as to instill fear in
- the hearts of his opponents. He crafted and performed such feats with the
- blows of his sword that they al cried out-independent of one another:
- "There is no doubt-this is the very devil himself. We are all doomed to
- die!" They had been certain before this that no man could defeat them, but
- now he convinced them to be fearful of him; they would have sooner dared
- to come up against a thousand other men than against him alone. The noble
- King Arthur swung with both hands; there issued forth from his sword a
- din that penetrated their helmets, so that blood gushed out and his victims
- lay dead. With a deluge of powerful blows he was able to hew a path
- through a good thousand defenders. He could be seen maintaining a course
- through the very midst of the enemy, a course which was a bitter medicine
- for many of them.
