  2. Eric,
  3.
  4. What you will need to do is send us another network connection request, but for your machine this time, so that it won’t pull a dynamic IP. From there, you can include any aliases you would like to have added in the notes section of the connection request.

  14. Kristina,
  15. That machine has an active connection and iimlock.unl.edu is correctly resolving to it now. What do we need to do in regards to registering the MAC?
  16.

  18. Eric:
  19.
  20. The request below was incorrect and need some addition information: the MAC c42c031c1fb7 is not registered and needs to send a request to register it before any alias can be pointed to this desktop.

  38. Hello,
  39.
  40. Your Machine has been registered in the QIP database. Added iimlock.unl.edu to mac address: c42c031c1fb7 as an alias. Since you are registered, you will be assigned a consistent IP number by the DHCP server. Be sure to set your machine to get its IP number via DHCP. (Call the Help Desk at 402-472-3970 if you need assistance doing this.) Your assigned IP address will be available after the next DHCP update. DHCP updates occur every 60 minutes throughout the day.
