  27. (This section lists the China Rose's modules and overall status. Module status is indicated by a health marker;
  28.
  29. [GREEN] indicates that the module is intact and functioning at optimal levels.
  30. [YELLOW] indicates that some maintanence for the moduleis in order but the module can still function as expected.
  31. [RED] Indicates a serious problem with the module that needs to be handled immediately. You can still use it, if you're willing to push your luck. But expect it to malfunction or even cause further damage.
  32. [DESTROYED] Indicates that a module is totally nonfunctional and unsalvageable. If it's still stuck to the ship, it can only be removed by dedicated yard time or with lots of people and plasma cutters.
  33.
  34. [FOOD], [WATER], and [FUEL] are self-explanatory. Oxygen is a non-factor as modern ships possess systems that can efficiently recycle oxygen from day-to-day activities, in addition to having enough oxygen reserves to last a full crew for a couple of months.
  35.
  36. [FUEL] can be obtained from refuelling stations scattered about in civilized space or, if necesarry; can be extracted from gas giants rich in Helium-3 via In-Situ Resource Extraction.
  37.
  38. [WATER] can be extracted the same way from jovian atmospheres, or via melting the ubiquitous ice asteroids and comets found in practically all star systems.
  39.
  40. [FOOD] is the main limiting factor for most manned ships, and not all space vessels have the resources or the space to hold a self-sefficient supply of foodstuffs. You will have to reach a friendly port of call in order to replenish this resource.
  41.
  42. The [THERMAL GRADIENT] determines how saturated with heat the ship's heatsinks are. If it goes over 75% then it's time for a Chill: which requires the ship to cease all power-intensive activity and extend its vulnerable heat radiators to cool down. Failing to do so runs the risk of components of the ship failing due to thermal stress and crewmembers fainting from heat stroke. Above 90% and you run the risk of literally cooking your crew alive.)

  107.
  108. The crews are divided into Sections tasked with overseeing a particular part of the ship's operations. Sections have an overall morale which ranges from [REBELLIOUS] to [EAGER]. You don't need be reminded of the importance of good morale.
  109.
  110. In addition, each individual crewmember has their own opinion of you, ranging from [LOYAL] to [HATED]; this determines how they will act towards you.
