#PastebinMonday 01/29/2024 Anyone Else Simulcast to Five Platforms? Edition

'Sup, doods!

These past two weeks really helped me put into perspective how complicated it can be to run a live stream. It's one thing to build a live stream with a lot of moving parts. It's another thing to send that live stream to five different broadcast platforms at once. To review, I'm sending out three signals from my PC. One is going to Twitch as I usually do, natively within OBS. Thanks to a multi RTMP plugin, another one is going to a restreaming service that is going to YouTube and Rumble. Finally, yet another is going to Kick and Twitter. I am realizing how tricky it is to focus on five different chats when you don't put the chat windows near your area of focus. Something to keep in mind for future construction broadcasts. I would love to find out if anyone else streams to five platforms at once. I may need to pick some brains.

I could also use another person to play Super Puzzle Fighter with us for our community tournament next month. Otherwise, we will probably have to cancel it. Admittedly, focusing on my own stream has diverted my attention away from finalizing the little touches I need to make to have the Puzzle Fighter tournament ready to go. I'll figure out how to get it done when that time comes. There's going to be a Tetris Attack tournament to announce, too, isn't there? I NEED to launch that tournament page this week.

In any case, the Friday Night Salt Mines are ready to be opened up again this week. The capture card I ordered from Japan came in way faster than expected and saved my bacon. The stream layout is technically incomplete, but in a presentable state. I'm ready to approach a level of normalcy that I haven't engaged with in months. It's not going to be the same as before, though. I mean...

Does anyone else simulcast to five platforms?

Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals (actual priority is in constant flux):

Goal #5: make a universal LPS broadcast layout that can be quickly adapted to multiple games. I have not been able to power through this, but it will definitely be done by the time I need it.
Goal #6: script and record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. I have some scripts left to touch up before feeling comfortable with moving on to recording gameplay. Then I will need to record my talking points and edit it all together. Getting everything ready to edit was the big thing I was hoping to get done before the next Tetris Attack tournament, but I really don't know where all the time went.
Goal #7: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process.
Goal #8: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts.
