	NICKNAMES : her family calls her plum ! her father is actually the only person really left in her family but i'll talk about that more in the later sections. all of his kids are girls and so he's always been a sucker for his girls, and still thinks of them as babies. i would say that she isn't embarrassed to here this nickname, and it actually gives her comfort but wouldn't like to tell her friends or the people around her why she is called plum. and tbh it's really simple, i looked up the meaning of mei, and apparently one of the meanings in chinese is plum ?? i thought it was kinda cute so like, she came home from regular school one day and was like, "in school we figured out what our names mean and mine is plum, can you believe how weird it is?" and then they just started calling her that. i feel like if she was ever gonna tell jimin this, he'd think it's so cute and end up calling her 'p' every once and a while fnsdjknflmsklas

	BACKGROUND : the ku family is a very proper and rich, stuck up family. both parents were born into wealth, and while seungjae went into the family business ( doctoring ), mija became a house wife to always be around to take care of her kids and to help the maids/chefs as well as everyone who lived/worked and the house. the whole family knows about magic and have always been aware of it due to both parents being wizards. it was normal for them and all three of the girls are deemed as intelligent so they knew who to tell and who not to. they also had hired people ( who worked in the house ) that were magical as well, so the girls didn't have to hide their powers where they lived. they were raised to love and explore magic, to be outgoing with it and to help in need. mija taught her girls how to be strong but in a "feminine" way. to help around the house and to let a man do his job. basically taught them how to be a house wife and that that was being a strong and proud/proper woman. to use their magic to make things easier for their significant other and for themselves. yerim was the child who rebelled the most against her mothers teachings and liked to go out and get dirty, while chaewon was very much attached and followed them as closely as possible. mei didn't really know what to think about them because she had both sisters complaining and talking about the other sister's opinions. while magic and being a "hero" as yerim would say it intrigued her, it had always scared her a bit. chaewon's words and her mother's were always in the back of her head, seeing as she looks up to her older sister and her mother, and wanted to make them proud. she would play both sides almost.

	PERSONALITY : for the most part she is a very nice girl ! it's just hard to get pass all of her stubbornness to get to the nice. i would say that that she would get extremely annoying when she talks about her beliefs towards women/gender roles or just her beliefs in general. many of her ideas are different then her peer's and she is very hard to persuade. very hard headed and close minded. i feel that upon first meeting ( or even before you actually spoke with her ) she would seem very smart/innocent quiet girl, because that's what her appearance gives off. your first conversation would be a nice one with small talk and such, but if you asked her to butter beer, she'd turn you off with her wall and talkative nature. because she is so close-minded it might be hard to agree with any of her statements that you might never want to talk to her again. i kinda think of her like hermione but not as smart and probably less likable, lmao.
	she can be friendly though, and if you never asked her to hang out or just sat next to her in charms class, you'd think she's a very nice girl. she's closed off, but not in a way that she takes herself away from human interaction or being social but in a way that she doesn't want to have people close to her because if something were to ever happen to her friends like her mother and sister it would hurt too much.
	going into a different aspect of her personality, because her child life before hogwarts/in her first years of hogwarts, was so "no this, no that" in terms of whether she should get down and dirty or stay "clean" and proper, she stays out of things she doesn't know what to do with. while magic and going outside the box intrigues her, she thinks she can't do anything because, one, she's "not supposed to" and two, she's never done anything rebellious or exciting so she's completely terrified of anything of the sort. as well as what happened to her mother and younger sister ( read the 'OTHER' in 'PLEASE MEET SOMEONE GOOD' section if you're confused ), that extremely affected why she doesn't think women should be outgoing or hands-on and a mother reason as to why she's super scared of putting herself into rebellious situations.

	LIKES : pink, dresses/skirts, sweaters, stuffed bears, mystery/thriller/adventurous/YA novels/movies, and high pony tails

	DISLIKES : science ( or really anything that has to do with chemicals/mixing, so like potions lmao ), milk, ripped jeans, peas, deep conversations, and seltzer ( or any fizzy drink, it hurts her throat )

	TRIVIA :
		- as a said above, she does not like ripped jeans, more on girls than boys, but she is actually fascinated by them and would love to own a pair but would never actually admit that. she would actually find them really hot on guys lmao
		- also as i said above she loves dresses and skirts, but actually prefers shorter ones to longer ones. it's her way of the "rebellious" side kicking in, even tho again, she'd never admit it.
		- she's extremely protective over her family, and always has been. her older sister, chaewon, is made fun of a lot in school, for never saying anything and for being like a mute or for being "weird" and whenever she hears people talking like that, she tells them off. even if she doesn't have the best relationship with her older sister anymore ( which i'll explain in a later section ) she still doesn't like others talking about her and she still cares for her.
		- she's so scared of thunder/lightening storms, like is so scared she might cry
		- the only music she really listens to is soft slow kinda indieish music. anything that'll help her sleep, and she'll like a few bops here and there, but really prefers soft music
		- along with potions being her worst subject, she really is awful at transfiguration as well. since it's a very hard subject to master, she's really awful at it, and doesn't like it
		- everything about fairytales and royalty and dances and stuff makes her so happy. she's like the little girl that plans her wedding when she's 7 and it means so much or her to have these events go perfectly, and she'll go into a fit of anxiety or panic if something doesn't go the way it's planned.
		- she can not fly a broom ! she get's really scared of it being so high, and she also doesn't see a reason for her to fly if quidditch is a "man's" sport. she doesn't want to play it/doesn't think she should so why should she be good at flying a broom ? ( theres more detail in the quidditch section )
		- she has never been in a relationship or kissed anyone, and its because she's got all these cute crushes but she won't do anything about it, because she thinks the dude should be taking the first move. she's mostly attracted to people through lust

☼ PLEASE MEET SOMEONE GOOD

	YEAR : 5th year

	QUIDDITCH : mei likes the sport and enjoys watching it, even will go a little crazy if it's really exciting then she loses control a little bit and screams like no other, but she has strong opinions on who should be playing the sport. she believes that women should stick to the side and let the boys play because it is incredibly dangerous and "not safe for girls." while she is incredibly supportive of her house's team, i'd say a good 8/10, she gets very angry and kinda upset when she hears that a girl has joined the team and disappointed when it's gryffindor's team that allows a girl to play.

	BEST SUBJECT : herbology ! since she is very conflicted ( in her mind ), dealing with the plants and learning about them and how they can help people, really relaxes her which is why she loves it and does the best in that class.
	WORST SUBJECT : potions, and mei really sucks at potions. while she knows it can help people and make things easier for her, she just really sucks at finding the right measurements and it always ends up blowing up in her face and it's embarrassing bjdksandl

	PATRONUS : a phoenix, because it is said in mythology that the phoenix will "suddenly bursts into flames only to rise from the ashes shortly after" ( harry potter wiki ). i feel that as if, mei is now in her burning day stage. the day where the bird's "eyes become dull, their feathers start to fall out, and it begins to make gagging noises" ( harry potter wiki ). after her mother and sister died, and her other sister basically separated herself from the family, she's gone into a very weird and sad stage almost, but i would like to see her go into a period of time where she comes back and can learn that hiding from adventure isn't good for her, and it's not what she wants. i think it's in her future to have a comeback, and her patrons features that.

	OTHER : just a small disclaimer, this little section contains mention of death and guns so just a heads up before you read it ! mei can see thestrals ! this is because when she was about 12 ( chaewon was 14, and yerim was 9 ) her family was caught in a sticky and very scary situation. they were at a museum exhibit opening during the summer ( so the girls were not at school ) when a robbery broke out. the five of them were held hostage with many others who were at the party. a couple of them were separated, including her mother, and as they were being escorted to a different room, someone tried to break out and gun shots were fired, one hitting her mother. her youngest sister, cried out and tried to run up to her mother, trying to fight against the robbers but ended up killing both of them. this all happened right in front of the whole room, including mei, chaewon and her their father. because her sister tried to stand up for her and her mother, trying to help and be the hero, and that got them killed, mei had it indented in her head that woman shouldn't be doing things like that. she thought, if her father were to do what her sister did, or a little boy, maybe they wouldn't have died. she believed everything her mother ever taught her and never looked back. as for her sister, chaewon, this basically scarred her and she departed herself from the family/became extremely cold.

☼ I GUESS OUR LOVE

	LOVE INTEREST : park jimin :)

	PERSONALITY : i feel like jimin would be like a "keeps to himself" type of dude. if you are having the bts guys all be friends then like, he's maybe popular because i can see a few of the guys being popular but he seems the most shyest or quietest out of all of them. and because he is so to himself i think that that makes him very observant. also if it's okay he's like ace at potions. oh and even tho he is very quiet and shy he does have a rebellious motive in him. him and the other boys probably do some weird stuff like sneak out of the castle or do some spell they aren't supposed to do or whatever just for the stupid thrill of it. he is a teenage boy after all.

	HOW DID THEY MEET : so picture mei, determined to get better at potions. so determined that she goes to the potions room after classes have ended to redo her assignments. the first couple she did well with only a little of trouble, but those ended successfully. but as soon was she had gotten to the previous weeks' assignment, the one that blew up in her face, it didn't go so differently this time around. going more slowly this time with pouring ingredients in, it was calm for a while, but as she went to add the next ingredient, the second the drop hit the mixture, it blew up in her face. black smoke everywhere, causing mei to go into a rapid fit of coughing. along with the explosion came a boom of sounding and it just so happened that jimin was making his way to his common room ( or wherever you'd like him to be going to ) when the sound made him jump and placed his mind in a stage of confusion/fear. he cautiously made his way to the potions room ( which was the closest to where he was standing ) and saw mei with an ashy face and waving her small hands through to air to get rid of the smoke. immediately he felt relief wash over his face, but rushed to her side when she hit the ground not being able to take the smoke anymore. she really had fucked it up, more than the last time. he then asked if she was okay, and she probably gave a sarcastic remark like, "of course i'm fine, my face just got exploded on" or whatever you want fdklasfnlka. basically you get the gist, he probably got a little shy after she snapped at him a little but helped her clean up a bit. he gave her some tips on potions and it probably helped her but she still sucks. i just imagine them going their separate ways until the triwizard tournament.

	FIRST IMPRESSIONS :
		his - i think he thought that it was kinda cute how she had so much trouble with the potion, since it's so easy to him. i don't really think he thought much of her after the meeting, because they are in different years but the interaction definitely left a smile on his face. he also wasn't his usual shy self in that moment so he must have felt super cool and like that was special to him so he wouldn't forget her or the moment
		hers - i actually think that she may have developed the ittiest bittiest crush, just because her damsel in distress vibes are so big, and like he didn't technically "save" her but he did like help her clean up a bit and then gave her potions tips. besides you'd be stupid or blind to not believe that jimin is attractive like tf, y'all can have ur opinions but just look at him, okay lmao. but he did seem cool in her eyes

	HOW DOES HE ACT AROUND HER : in the beginning i think that jimin is very shy, because its kinda awkward being partnered with someone you don't really know, especially for someone with a personality like his ( quiet and polite ). i think that maybe he wouldn't say much around her when they were around other people, but i do think that when they were in private he would speak out more but would still be very shy. since he doesn't want to get on her bad side, he would let her make most of the decisions and be open to her ideas. let her speak first and such. towards the middle i think that he might start to become more comfortable around her and maybe even start more deep conversations. since he was more quiet in the beginning, he would probably think and wonder many things about her or the position they were in, so since he's more comfortable in the middle he'd start to talk more with her and ask her questions. i think that in the end, he would maybe try to help her. maybe not the end of the book, but before the end, he would have almost figured her out. i think that through questions being asked, and how she decided to answer them or if she refused or not, told him a lot about her.

	HOW DOES SHE ACT AROUND HIM : in the beginning i think that mei would be almost annoyed with jimin ? because the first time they met, he seemed like a prince charming, she thought that he was always like that. but then as they actually started working together, he was very shy and em was forced to take control of their relationship or partnership. with everything, there were times when she would literally roll her eyes and half to drag him places or areas ( drag meaning like pulling him by the wrist ). this then pushed her leader qualities out, which she didn't like because she thought that he should be leading her. in the middle, she would have gotten used to him acting like this, and would i think just accept it. was probably caught off guard the first time he asked a real/deep question and definitely had up her wall up. she would enjoy his company more, rather than annoyed with him. at this time they'd actually have real conversations and know more about each other. i feel like she'd probably feel the same in the end, and sometime between the middle and the end, developed that crush that surfaced on the first day they met, but its probably still small. i also just think that he brought out the advents side in her more and really helped her grow more into herself and she's like not as uptight

	RELATIONSHIP : in the beginning, mei was definitely not jimin's biggest fan, only because she was forced to do what in her mind is, "a man's job" jimin wasn't stepping up to the plate and that annoyed her, but they do like each other if a friendly way. they never really knew each other before the tournament so it's both new for them, but they do become friends and have crushes eventually

	RELATIONSHIP TRIVIA :
		- jimin is the only person mei will allow herself to have a deep conversation with ! at least towards the middle of their relationship
		- i feel like in the beginning they got really flustered around each other but mei forced to push that aside because she was forced to have the pants in the relationship djkhfkla
		- they are both horrible at aegyo so i feel like if they ever place bets or like do small competition the punishment is for the other to do aegyo and its always so cringey hdkshfklj;s
		- they do loads of skinship and really without noticing, like in the beginning she would always be grabbing his wrist to drag him places ( which she would eventually let go once he was following her bc she felt weird ) but in the middle they always like grab each other's hands and she'll hit him playfully if they are joking around and laughing and stuff and he'll rub her arms if she's nervous and they just comfort each other
		- they are so ! supportive ! of ! each ! other ! like everything the other will do, like "i'm right behind you" bc jimin knows that mei is not used to do doing so many outgoing things, and mei knows that jimin is not the most confident and yes they are just supportive

☼ WAS MORE SHALLOW THAN I THOUGHT...

	SCENE SUGGESTIONS :
		- if you do the ball thingy they do every triwizard tournament, maybe there's a seen where jimin asks mei to go to the dance with him ! even tho it's like they are supposed to go together kinda sorta idk fcghfhxjgdhf
		- a scene where they can have this big deep convo maybe where she tells him about her mom and sister's death and hw her other sister basically separated from the fan and just they can share their hardships and its really sweet and nice but kinda sad
		- i think that one night, jimin could convince mei to like sneak out or stay out longer or something and she'd be so terrified like jimin stop it take me back to my room right now and like yell at him and he thinks its really cute bc he knows that she wants to, but she just is so scared and yeah aw

	NOTE TO ME : this is the first af i'm applying to omg but i love this plot/concept and the voice is a character that i never thought i would want to fill but after really thinking about it i love her so much and i just wanted to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to be able to apply for her and yeah ! i can't wait to read this book, even if i don't get chosen !
