  1. Ythaar was born in the City of Mejtokxil, named after his family. Its a thriving city despite its desert dwelling. They use the waters of the springs to make their crops, and feed hungry travelers. The large walls of the city also protect from bandits, something the rest of the land doesn't have the liberty of. It was created many centuries ago, by a group of travelers, two families uniting as mutual protection. One were a group of warriors, the others traveling mages. They forged an alliance together, and made the Mejtokxil family, a line of Magus renowned in the area.

  3. His father was a cold, distant man, now solidly in his mid-50s. While he is still a capable warrior, more tuned to the ways of magic and intellect in his later years, he is still strong and quick. He excelled in martial combat in his youth, and has honed his skills to a fine point. Rumors around the town is he can split something so thinly the rest of the material simply explodes and is destroyed.

  5. His mother was fair, lithe, pale skinned woman with golden hair and sapphire eyes, around the same age as her husband. She was always warm to her children and to the servants. She was never a fighter, coming from a distant land to marry into the bloodline. A more minor noble, but a perfect wife. Her specialty in magic was healing. The daughters of her family line were all Oracles, her herself coming from the Life Domain. She stayed mostly in the castle, but when she could she would take her carriage around the town and spread what coinage she could get among the peasantry.

  7. He was born the 7th son, and 13th child overall, the last in the line of the royal family. His oldest brother, Gu'heer, next in line for the throne, and master at the two-handed sword. Takhaar, his second oldest brother, wielder of stone magic, and current apprentice to the general of the Mejtokxil armies. Murrae, his oldest sister, healer, and apprentice to his aunt, and next High Priest to the city. Gunther, user of mace and shield, and third oldest brother, is to become an ambassador to foreign cities. Torr, manipulator of water, and fourth oldest brother, is an apprentice the royal black smith. Mur'yel, user of the complex chainsword, and second older sister, is learning the trades to become a merchant for the family, and insure trade is stabilized. Muo'stah, user of dual swords, and fifth oldest brother, is learning to take the role of Tax collector and treasurer. Correal, Elemental Mage, and third oldest sister, is learning to take up the mantle of Grand Magistrate. Conn'air, Hook-sword Fighter, and the second youngest brother, is to become the next head guard to the king. Morraer, Illusion mage, and the fourth oldest sister, is to become adviser to the king, and head of the legislation. Meh'yer, a non-combatent, who always resisted training to fight, and the second youngest sister, is marrying into royalty of another city-state. And Nyr, Archer and youngest sister, is to become head of the death-barrow, the keepers of the crypts and funeral rights. Ythaar... has been tasked to travel the world as ambassador, to seek new ideas, but mostly to remove him from the city, with his ideals of peace, and strange ideas of magic being a controversial topic.

  9. Ythaar, like any of his siblings, as he grew up was first tasked to learn the two fundamentals of his family. The way of the weapon, and the way of a weapon, and the way of magic. He chose dual-swords like his sister, but favored a dexterous weapon like sabers. As he grew older, he was put into studies of magic, both it's theories and practices, as well as it's use in combat. He took more note into magic than he did his sword, it coming naturally to him, flowing from his blood of countless heroes to the city within his bloodline. He learned to manipulate flames in combat. As he got older, he was allowed to branch out his teachings, and choose a path for himself. He chose a necromancer within town to be his new teacher. A rather old man, mysterious and distrusted. Although his parents frowned on it's use, they conceded to Ythaars appeals and wants to utilize a lesser known, and thought of magic and it's applications. The magics untapped potential for the good of the world being overlooked, and other dark powers misunderstood waiting to be used. After a while of studying, on his 19th birthday, he decided to travel the world...

  11. In his searches he came across the tombs of some ancient lords. From his research they were rulers over a river civilization many thousands of years ago. The river and rains now dead, their people died. Though he had a gut feeling that was far from the truth. The lords had their bodies stored within the caverns below the city, carved by the river for many years. Deep in its depths he found walls of stone, carved with many runes. However, almost all of it was scratched and burned. Further in behind untouched stone doors who's magic he had to study for a month to dispel, he found he caskets of the lords were empty. Strangely as well the gold ripped from the stone and spaces for long-lost jewels. As he got to the treasuries used to keep the wealth of the lords after their death for the afterlife, they were all empty as well, but only a adamantine box (A rarity for what would of been a bronze-age civilization.).
  12.
  13. He traveled to a city far away to have the box open, finding only a black gem. Touching it, tendrils of flesh-like black ooze covered his hands and arm. With extreme pain it burrowed into his skin. Whispers from the gem flooded his minds, in a language he couldn't understand, nor even find any trace of. Looking into the libraries of towns for the next year to come, he found nothing to help him. However the gem began to use the knowledge of his mind to piece together common, slowly telling a tale of a destroyed city, and the dangers that lurk below the desert sands...

  15. Later, while investigating the strange nature of portals he became 'trapped' in Sigil as the portal collapsed. Its energies gave him much more power to wield both his necromancy and spellblade prowess. Its use to him is great, giving him much more potential to follow and learn from both. Though he'd wish to learn more of the portal magic to use in his city, he was already too invested in necromancy and a search for answers on the gem's cryptic messages.
