Night 1 in the Ethereal

The sky above faded from the continuous white of the shallow sea below into a dark blue and eventually black, with stars foreign to the night sky dotting the surface. Tintin had explained that the starts of the ethereal plane contained every star of every plane with a sky, and so was lit up like diamonds on a dark cloth. It was a beautiful sight to behold. Besides the chants of the Weatherman, the world was totally peaceful and silent.

"What my older brother said is true. This is home to the dead and dying Gods. Human souls still tethered to the living world are constantly pulled between here and there, because of their presence. A lot about this place is still a mystery though. As long as we got SS, we'll be fine though. The magic that calms and rides the maelstrom works here the same way."

Captain Valor discussed it with the crew and you over chow that evening. "Don't worry about SS, as long as he's like that he's like a damn elf, don't need no sleep or food. It's a meditative state, think the cook always calls it." The cook nodded an affirmation and the captain went on, "so anyways. We weren't meant to actually dip into the other world like this, we had planned to ride the maelstrom and coast. But that's okay! When we leave, we should be uh...pretty close to the planned route! I wouldn't overthink it. Just get some shut eye, and enjoy the sights until we get there."

The night was peaceful, filled with the sound of the Weatherman's singing and the distant cries of whales, softly singing their songs in the far distance.
