  16. Ah, Hogwarts. It's a heck of a place, even this far back in history. A blackthorn-and-phoenix wand saw to my acing the classes, and going to work as something of a freelance troubleshooter. When you graduate from Hogwarts at the top of every field, though, that's to be expected. Getting licensure through the ICW and various member nations, well, it wasn't exactly a simple process but there are enough dark wizards in the world that pop up from time to time that it's certainly doable, especially in the wake of the first world war. Even if it was on the muggle side, it still complicated things on the other side of the curtain.

  18. Of course, Grindelwald coming to power complicated things. Of course as a troubleshooter we butted heads, but ... well. Honestly, from my point of view, the guy wasn't entirely WRONG. Just kind of insane. The goal was fine, or at least it would have been if his plans didn't also involve him in charge of the resulting world. It didn't help anything that he actually was very skilled, and as a result, the only way to deal with him would have been to outright expose myself as someone who has abilities that are not of this world. And that isn't in the cards.

  20. As time wore on, though, I found myself continually more irritated with how wizards did things. I understood the masquerade, but it seemed some of them constantly flouted it, and that was leaving aside Grindelwald's apparent intention of the conquest of Europe via Nazi Germany. Others went to insane lengths to keep things as they are, up to and including wholesale memory wipes at the height of the Blitz that actively got people killed because they were confunded.

  22. I pretty much ended up leaving the wizarding world and instead played freelance Nazi hunter on the muggle side. Which was apparently okay with the ICW, because there was quite a bit that leaked from the magical side that I ended up cleaning up as well. Like the zombies. And the vampires. Why did Grindelwald think that an army of ten thousand Nazi vampires was in any way, shape, or form a good idea.

  24. No, there was no Major hanging around, nor Mina Harker's corpse. I checked.
