- Emily opens her eyes, blinking in the fluorescent light of her hospital room. She remembers being brought in from work after having an asthma attack, nothing too serious, has happened dozens of times, her inhalor though was empty so she had to be rushed to the hospital. She knows she blacked out on the way there even under the oxygen mask. So not too surprised to find she is...
- She sits upright, she isn't wearing her work uniform. She just sits there a solid minute looking down at her clothes, its her regular clothes, nothing fancy, but these are her clothes from home.
- "Hey!" she shouts storming out of the empty room. But there is nothing, just a silent hall. The room she was in though had five beds, and a window overlooking the roof to another part of the building. She turns back and looks out the window.
- "Where the hell am I?" she says aloud, "this isn't Mayview Hospital."
- In her town there would only be the one small hospital within reasonable driving distance from her work, in fact looking out the window she doesn't even know where this is, there are skyscrappers not far away, a river running under some train tracks that run right over the road. She walks out of the room and down the hall, most of the doors are open, some even have chairs in front of them as if someone was trying to keep the doors open.
- "Where the hell is everyone?" she says aloud as she passes a room.
- Movement from the room catches her eye, as she steps back across the doorway, on the other side of the room there is a skeleton propped up, like something for a biology class.
- "Must have med students here," she says, stopping as the skull turns following her movement.
- She stares at it and taks a step back, then forward, the skull just follows her.
- "Kinda in poor taste," she says, "using a halloween decoration."
- She doesn't enter the room, despite what she said she finds herself walking a bit faster down the very weirdly long hall. She comes across vending machine next to two bathrooms...whose doors have all sorts of equipment blocking them covered in (Out of Order) tape and slippery floor signs.
- "Okay," says Emily with a raised eyebrow.
- She eyes the vending machine, she doesn't feel hungry or thirsty but could use something to drink anyway. She doesn't have any change on her, although...she realizes the vending machine doesn't have anywhere to put money.
- "Oh what," says Emily sarcastically, "are you a free vending machine?" she presses the coke button as she speaks in mock anger, and jumps when a coke can falls out. She's not sure why but she timidly takes the can, opens it, and actually sniffs it before drinking.
- She smacks her lips and looks at the can, "tastes like Pepsi..."
- She holds the cool can to her forehead, "Okay...I am jumpy...seriously though...where the hell is everyone? Did they just leave me here on a holiday...oh God please tell me I wasn't in a coma..."
- She looks out a window in a waiting room that is probably about four floors up overlooking a very empty park. There are plenty of cars parked everywhere, but none driving...in fact there are no signs of people out there at all.
- *YOWL!*
- She almost throws the soda, the loud noise was coming from down a hall behind a door labled [Radiology].
- She passes a fish tank in the lobby, and stops again, holding her heart as the bubble suddenly kick on and fish start coming out of their coral castles, including several large anemane...that are moving entirely too quickly, and all the fish are jumping up slamming into the cover of the tank.
- She walks quickly away from that, although she figures whoever has fed them is also missing.
- She hears the *YOWL!* again as she passes the door.
- "A cat," she *sighs*, "poor thing must be stuck in...here."
- She looks in a room with jars of dead animals in open cabinets and hears the *YOWL* again, it is coming from a half section of a mounted mummified cat. Its mouth moves and *YOWLs* again.
- "Yeah..." says Emily, "Nope..."
- She backs away from the doorway and stops as she hears a *HISSING* noise from the same room, looking back and thinking, "I am so shoving chairs in front of that fucking Radiology door"
- As she goes back into the lobby the fish are in pieces, ramming into the glass so hard they are breaking themselves apart; as if they were already rotting, and the others eating the pieces.
- Emily is surprised her asthma hasn't kicked in as she breathes hard and moves away from the waiting room as quickly as she can without running, something in her memory kicking in not to run or make too much noise.
- "Wait..." she says as she comes to the hall with elevators and stairs, "No...no way..."
- She looks out the window at the dead empty city, "Please tell me...there wasn't a fucking zombie apocalypse...this is like some bad movie or...dream."
- She sips the soda, swishing it in her mouth tasting it fully, bites her lip, and takes a deep breath, "No...I'm awake for sure."
- She stops in front of the elevator and remembers scenes from horror movies, "No...fuck that."
- She stops in front of the stairs, imagening zombies waiting in the stairwell, maybe people trapped...and then hears a [BARK] coming from the Radiology Hall.
- "Stairs it is," she thinks to herself getting the hell off that floor.
- ******
- As Emily descends the stairwell she gets an uneasy feeling in her gut, something is wrong with the stairs, but she can't tell just what. She leans on the handrail for a breath and sees the door beside her, [Ground Floor]. Had she not stopped she would have kept going down, as she turns the doorknob to the ground floor the stairwell light flicker and upon opening the door to the sunlight lit front desk sitting room a darkness creeps up from below the stairs. The stairs going down change, they are rust colored and the darkness is moving as though alive, a soft laughter, moaning, and muffled screams from below...or from the shadow. She practically leaps through the door slamming it shut. She backs away from the door. Other than a stairwell door being next to the sitting room it looks like any other emergency room entrance, well other than a window broken clean through letting in a warm spring breeze; which is troubeling as it should be autumn. This sitting room also sports a fish tank, however it is empty, a massive hole on the side of it facing the broken through window. As she steps into the sitting room she is tempted to sit down and catch her breath until she sees something on the floor among broken glass. It looks like an eel skeleton or some other long and probably just slightly too big for that fishtank fish. She is about to take a sip of the soda she is still holding when a *KNOCK KNOCK* from behind her causes her to freeze up.
- The door to stairwell, *KNOCK KNOCK*, the door wasn't locked, and she didn't and couldn't have locked it. *KNOCK KNOCK*. It is isn't rushed, or paniced, just a basic knock. She starts to walk towards it, about to answer it for some reason when something else catches her eye, written in spray paint along the wall beside the door, [Do Not Open Doors]. She remembers all the doors propped open or blocked off upstairs. Below the sign there is another [They Hide Behind Doors].
- *KNOCK KNOCK*...followed by what sound like childish giggles, but seem to be even lower, like something barely off the floor.
- She backs away towards the entrance to emergency room. *KNOCK KNOCK...YOWL...*
- And she gets the fuck out of there going through the emergency room doors. She stops before the full parking lot and *huffs*. Hands on knees bent over she looks back towards the hospital and says, "what the hell is going on?"
- As she turns and takes a sip of her soda, still hunched over a movement of shadow catches her eye, something dashing from under one car to one closer to her. She watches intently at the shadowed space under the green station wagon not twenty feet in front of her, when movement from the corner of one eye draws to something dashing from under one car further out to another, and then to her right.
- She backs up just slightly.
- "No way in hell am I going back in there," she says. She stands up on a concrete wall on the sidewalk to the little garden in front of the windows and looks over the sea of cars. Between her and the street, every parking space is filled, all the windows are rolled up, except for three cars whose roofs are smashed in some distance away. Movement catches her eye again, further out, like many small somethings that stay behind the cars are dashing here and there, trying to move closer while staying unseen...towards her. She thinks to throw her can, but instead reaches down and picks up a small rock and tosses under the green station wagon. She can hear it roll, and *sighs*.
- She nearly drops her can and screams *shit!* as the rock is hurled at her shin. She looks up, just fast enough to catch a glimps of a pair of tiny glowing eyes belonging to something no bigger than a cat ducking behind the back tire of the station wagon, followed by high pitched *giggling*.
- She is wide eyed, "Not a fucking zombie," she mutters.
- She looks around and the only path that goes around the parking lot is a sidewalk around the side of the building and towards a park, whose only open space is a baseball diamond that crosses to a street beside a river. She *gulps* the last of the soda, keeping an eye open at the space under the cars, noticing the small thing chancing a glance from under, perhaps thinking she is looking away.
- She tosses the can into the bushes and cautiasuly walks down the side walk, hearing annoyed *hissing* sounds coming from the parking lot. As she passes a dark window with curtains drawn she can hear a *tapping* on the glass.
- "No..." she says not even looking, "no..no...no...nooooo."
- She walks past the building and to the sidewalk by the field. There is an area with trees and rocks she could cut through to be faster and get away from the building. A thought that is short lived as a walnut comes flying down so hard it smashes into a million pieces by her feet, movement in the trees, but she can see these creatures, they are squirrels...but something is off about them. She hurries down the sidewalk, even as the window tapping follows her...although she knows these windows are in different rooms. She breaks into a run however as a chair comes falling down right behind her from a higher window, straight for the baseball diamond. She climbs the fence and runs across the baseball diamond not even looking back till clear on the other side, and climbs that fence and onto the concrete floor of a food stand, sitting down on the wooden bench. As she turns around however looking back, she turns pale as the baseball diamond as a swarm of squirrels in it, that are rushing back away from her direction as the sand below the baseball diamond is indenting and something below is sucking down the squirrels like an ant-lion. As one squirrel escapes the baseball diamond and scurries close to the edge of the concrete walkway in front of the food stand she can see what is wrong with them, their front paws are chicken feet, their tails are forked at the tip, and their eyes are positioned in front of their heads...and are human eyes. It *gurgles* at her right before a thin yellow tentacle covered in barbs shoots from the ground, gripping and ripping the squirrel thing before pulling it under.
- She takes several deep breaths searching her pockets for her inhalor...before realizing she isn't having an asthma attack. A few deep breaths and she can stand again, albeit on weak knees. She looks around, the ground doesn't even looks disturbed, no squirrels, although the trees back towards the hospital clearly have movement in them, the parking lot, and looking up the upper windows is taken back as there is a skeleton leaning, propped from a sixth story window...the hospital oddly has eight stories to it, and the skeleton is faced towards her and flipping her off.

- Emily's walk from the food stand, where she snagged some ketchup packets and another soda from another free machine, this time getting a Mountain Dew...which was instead filled with what she thinks is Bannana...soda. Not bad, just weird, is otherwise uneventful. She's not sure why she isn't afraid while walking on the concrete walkway to the street, despite the...whatever it was under the sand before. However her attention is grabbed by the sound of a car.
- "Holy shit," she says as she runs to sidewalk on the street through the opening in the fence. The car, a blue prius slows down and stops. She starts to speak but stops, the driver is a wooden brown featurless mannequin; wearing a brimmed hat. She just stands there watching it, and drops her soda when the head suddenly turns. Keeping her eyes on it she slowly goes down the sidewalk. As she passes the backdoor she jumps as the door suddenly opens on its own. It closes as she goes past it, but then the trunk opens on its own as she goes past it. She is trying to back up, keeping an eye on the car, the sidewalk, and the park beside her. After about twenty feet the trunk closes, the engine fires up, and the car continues down the road.
- "Who the fuck would willingly climb into your trunk?" says Emily outloud as she starts to laugh. She looks at her hands, and is upset she dropped the soda. Which is odd for her, she normally doesn't drink alot, but....the feeling is strange, its not really thirst, or feeling hot, just a want to drink. She doesn't even realize as she walks that she is sucking the ketchup packets till she runs out.
- As she approaches the bend in the street, the hospital nearly out of sight she stops, realizing there are cars line up beside the sidewalk down the side she is on. Which seems to turn back towards the hospital, a block around it. If she crossed the street and went back the way she came there would be a row of antique stores...with the one directly across from her having a whole punch of creepy puppets in the window...all looking directly at her.
- "Fuck that," says Emily as she looks the other way.
- She could run across the road to the sidewalk on the other side of the parked cars, and go to her right that way. She looks down that way and...the buildings abruptly stop giving way to a vast cemetary.
- She narrows her eyes and says, "Seriously,"
- The left however, she can't see what is around the bend that the creepy antique store is on, and doesn't matter. Across the street however there is a bank, next to a post office, and a pet store...as if this place were laid out like a game of Sim City. There is however in this cluttered threeway intersection also the train going over the street, which goes out thirty feet in the air down the road into what appears to be the country, down the left for about a block before turning left. In fact looking down to her left, there doesn't appear to be any right turns going down that way until maybe way up on a hill where there is a traffic light and the sky scrapers. She tries to remember looking out the window of the hospital, but that window with all her turning around must have been looking back the way she came down that street. The train above does have a stairway leading up to it not far down to her right, right next to some parked cars, including an armored police van missing its windshield that looks like it crashed into the stairway on the sidewalk. She pauses as she hears the train approaching but can't see it. A mist rolls in from no where, and stays out in the cemetary filled country, the train, which looks like a Japanese bullet train, with a steam locomotive pipe on in the lead car for no reason and a Joker face painted on the front of the train, emerges and stops very...impossibly, abruptly at the stop.
- Emily is frozen solid as the doors open and the pipe *toots*. She has made up her mind, and walks diagonally across the street towards the bank. As she walks however the train slowly lurches forward above her. As she gets the steps of the bank, she looks up and tries to see if she can see anyone in the train which has stopped. All she can see is the reflection of the sun in the side window of the front car. However it as it dawns on her that the sun is not in the right spot to be reflected like that, the glowing reflection moves like an glowing eye looking down at her, then forward as the train takes off. The train isn't going very fast as it goes down the track.
- She looks up the steps at the very dark bank, no lights on inside. Her hand on the stone wall by the stairs feels odd scratch marks. Words are engraved on the wall [Do Not Go Inside Anywhere]. The same words are on the otherside as well, scratched all over the stone wall's top, except one spot which looks like something took a bite out of it. Before she realizes it she has read them up to the front door. The doors are shut and curtains drawn. There is a flutter in the curtain, and appear to be parted slightly by...a house plant, that pulls back almost immediatly.
- "uh....huh," says Emily backing down. As she reaches the bottom of the steps and walks past the post office, noticing that train, despite only having like seven cars is still slowly going around the bend, the windows are all tinted. As she continues down the sidewalk up the hill there is a very loud *SHRIEKING* sound coming from around the bend, following by the incredibly loud crashing, and she sees the last cars of the train going around the track flipping off the track onto the street smashing cars and lamp posts. She flees into the nearest building, and watches through the window, hands on the glass. She can't see around the bend, but she can see the train cars on their side being dragged by something down the road, sparks flying.

- [Do Not Go Inside Anywhere]
- These words flash in Emily's mind, as she stares out the window. There is no smoke or fire outside and while she is looking across the street at the brick wall of a Tatoo parlor, somehow sharing the same space as the Antique store, she remembers what was over here. Bank...avoided, Post Office, pretty sure walked past...making this...the...Pet Store. Her mind flashes to the things she saw in the hospital and she almost too afraid to turn around. She has to though as she is even more certain she wants to get away from the window. She slowly turns around, mentally preparing what horrors she may find, and...it looks like it went through a riot. The tubs where crickets would be by the register are shredded, in Emily's mind it seems like a tiger got to them. The small mammal and reptile cages are smashed to pieces, dry blood stains, fur and feathers here and there, even the aquariums are destroyed.
- As Emily makes her way to the back, she sees some stray bits of kibble on the floor, the pet food aisles are also ransacked, oddly it looks so were the pet plushie toys, except they are missing rather than destroyed. She finds the employee launge, and another working set of working vending machine, getting herself a burger and a soda this time. The burger tastes normal, although the lettuce tastes like bacon, the soda, which should have been a Pepsi tastes like Sunny Delight. She finds the manager's office, the door missing. Inside there are a dozen security monitors, all working. As she goes inside a siren goes off.
- "What is this Silent Hill?" she says as she sits at the monitor desk. A metal door slams shut from the frame trapping her inside.
- "Never Go in Anywhere..." she whispers.
- She stops making any noise as she suddenly hears the sounds of animals from the monitors, which apparently also have microphones. She didn't see it happen, as her back was turned to them, but now the pet store is filled with animals again, but they don't look right. reptiles she has never seen before, rabbits with spikes, a dog with two tails and spider like legs, a tarantula the side of a rabbit. They are in the clearly repaired cages, and are making a loud racket, trying to escape. Some do and flee out the open front door; Emily isn't sure she should be relieved or terrified she left the door open, also confused as it appears to be night time now. A nearby clock says it is 9pm. She doesn't know what time it was when she awoke or how long she took to get just this one block away; granted she was going pretty slow given everything today.
- The creatures are growing more violent, some getting into each other's containers and killing and eating each other, several fishtanks break open as things like a giant snail with a spike covered spiral shell escape, a fish with bat wings, and an eel that moves through the air like its swimming. Several go after the remaining pet food, which didn't regenerate or be replaced or whatever happened when she wasn't looking. She can only watch, and hope they continue to move out of the building and hope that despite being apparently trapped that the door stays closed.
- Something massive catches her eye, outside the front window, like a gargantuan snake. It moves past the window, and then comes back, revealing its self to be some kind of Lamia, it has human breast shaped lumps on its chest, although covered in scales, two clawed arms, and a head like a mix between human and cobra. Its hood has quills on the back of it, which Emily can make out on the cameras as the inhuman monsters moves through the pet store, devouring various small animals, even snapping up the flying fish creatures from the air. It does not seem satisfied however as his flicks its tongue about searching the building. It dawns on Emily as it makes it way towards the back that its following the same path she did, its following her scent. She can hear it outside in the break room through the door and the microphones. It makes its way to the metal door. Emily has her feet up on the chair, knees tucked into her chest as far away from the door, the only thing between her and this slithering nightmare. She stares intently at the door and the monitor, seeing tiny things she missed before, like what appears to be a red stain around the bottom of the door frame, human teeth and tiny shattered white splinters around the edges.
- *KNOCK KNOCK*
- Emily is trying to hold her breath, even as she stares wide eyed at the tiny three inch gap of the bottom of the door. The monitor shows the creature leaning down and peering under the door. Emily tries to stay perfectly still. A long forked tongue flicks under the door, a good foot and a half into the monitor room.
- "Kommen Sie Auf," says the creature in a sultry woman's voice.
- It flicks again, and says, "Naar Buiten Kamen"
- A second later, "Kom Ud."
- It flicks again, "Sortir"
- That last one especially sultry
- "Komdu Ut," , "Tar Amach", "Vieni Fuori!"
- The creature is sounding impatient and pauses.
- It leans up and *SLAMS* its fist on the door. The whole room shakes.
- "Dear God," whispers Emily.
- It smiles, and looks right at the camera. It slithers its body like a little dance, tracing its frame with its hands in a seductive manner. It flicks its breasts with its tongue despite said breasts being ridged lumps of muscle and armored scale and not at all despite shape like those of a human.
- It opens its mouth terrifyingly wide at the camera and up very close, giving Emily a full inside view of its throat. It backs away and spreads its pussy lips, hidden in a V-shaped fold of scales about where a human's would be, with its finger, pulling with both hands impossibly wide and with a few thrusts of its hips also showing it can contrasts this like a throat.
- Emily doesn't know what to make of this display at first till something she saw on the internet comes back to her, "Vore," she whispers.
- The creature looks at the door and says in perfect English, "Yessss, Sexy Snek Vore...come out and experience it for real....little treat. By my throat or..mmm...unbirth...come out."
- "Sick fuck," says Emily despite herself, "I'd be digested....dead."
- *SLAM!!!* she jumps and the chair falls over towards the door as the creature makes the entire room shake again.
- She staggers to her feet as that tongue is flicking under the door again, with claws scratching up what little carpet they can, revealing the metal frame is under the floor as well.
- "You..." says Emily gaining some confidence, "You...you...you can't get in here can you?"
- The tongue flicks back and forth wildly, it smacks the chair leg, grabbing it and pull it to the door, before throwing it across the room with an insane strength for just a tongue. Oddly it bounces off the monitors not damaging them. The creature has stopped talking and for an unknown length of time is snaking its tongue about, Emily watches it, its almost hypnotic, as she gets up and takes one step towards the door a panel opens up beside the door with a green glowing human handprint screen.
- She raises her foot up and, the tongue stops. She jumps back and the tongue flicks about wildly and exits. She can hear the snake monster smacking what passes for lips on its dry tongue. Emily looks at the teeth, white bone splinters, the chair that was thrown by just the tongue, and the red stained three inch gap.
- All the words scratched into things, the signs.
- "I'm not alone here," she says, remembering the police van crashed into the train stop and the unnatural train, "Or was...not...I..."
- Emily's adrenaline spikes and she yells as loud as she can, "You wanted me to step on your tongue!"
- She glares at the door panel, "What is this shit!? Fucking traps everywhere?! Is this some sick game!? What are you some fucking alien? Did you fucking abduct me and..."
- She remembers the snake monster speaking different languages, "What is this? This Outer Limits alien experiment, psychological torture bullshit?"
- She thinks of the snake monster, if she had been anywhere else but here, she'd have been easy prey, all the traps, all the little whatevers, this was the only safe way to go.
- "I was hearded in here wasn't I? Some fucked up test? Well I don't know who these...body bits belonged to but I'm...I'm..."
- She looks at the monitor watching the snake creature, coiled up block the only entrance to the office, its arms crossed, and it is clearly huge.
- Emily chokes, "I...I'm...I'm...I...I am....not...falling...for...it...you....bitch!"
- The snake creature growls and rams its tail through the wall smacking the side of the room shaking it. She can see on the monitor as it smashes through the wall on the other side, and hear it ripping through the plaster around the back of the room and out the first hole it made. It looks at the camera and then smashes through the cieling. She watches as it slithers up and then she *screams* as the monitors and lights all go out. She almost on impulse runs to the door to make sure its stayed closed, remembering an online game she played once about keeping a security door closed with power...but that doesn't really make sense on how a security door works.
- She can tell it is ontop of the room, and moves down the far side. It speaks, "You are a virgin here," it hisses, confusing Emily, "what a delight to be your first. I will not disapoint, and you will be mine little virgin. The security doors are a false sense of...security...sssss....when the lights go out they close, so safe inside you think you are...but when the lights come on...the doors open."
- Emily shakes about as the entire metal box she is in is moving. She can hear glass and metal breaking as the box is clearly pushed through the pet store, right through the walls. The light under the door tells her they are outside. She is thrown on her back as the entire box is tipped up, the door facing up. The tongue flicks above her now as she lies on the monitors.
- "I will sleep here now, we will have our fun when the dawn breaks...little virgin treat."
- The light is blocked off by the creature's bulk on the door. Emily tries not to panic, most of the plaster on the walls has broken off and burying her in it, she can feel the walls are metal, a metal strong enough that the giant snake creature that pushed this entire room through a building couldn't break through. There is no chance she can get through it.
- She thinks to herself, that it must be a test, there must be another way out, something she missed, but nothing, the walls are smooth save for some tiny holes for the electrical wires, which are mostly now facing the ground, save for three tiny holes facing the street, she can barely see through. All she can do is sit there and *sob*, everything that happened that day, and she gets cornered...*Do Not Go Inside Anywhere*..., "But if I had *sob* stayed outside *sob*, I'd..."
- *SHRIEEEK!*
- *GRAAAH HISSS!*
- The sounds of two different creatures shake her from her self pity. The room is lifted up and then suddenly is hurling through the air, knocking her about the debris, a chair, and some oddly smooth and stuck in place monitors. She can hear a loud crash as the room lands on its side, and her buried in debris and a chair to the temple is knocked out.
