- I miss my trees in the High Forest. I knew all the beautiful creatures that frequented my grove by name and they knew me. There I go whining again. I guess I should tell you how a shy forest gnome left her lifetime home and became an adventurer.
- My parents raised me as a simple hunter-gatherer. We lived near other gnomes, but far enough away to feel the solitude of the expansive forest. Despite not living near anyone, I still felt more at home with the animals. I have always favored them. They are quiet and live such simple lives.
- One day it stormed unusually hard, so I stayed in my cozy tree with my favorite tea. The rain poured and the wind howled all day and night. It subsided the next morning and the sun broke through. I stepped outside to find my usual forest melody of birds chirping, squirrels chattering, and leaves rustling gone. I should have stayed home, I should not have investigated. It has been about forty years since that fateful, ominous day.
- The silence drew me from home. I walked my usual paths and found gruesome scenes: rabbits, squirrels, skunks, birds, moles were dead. They were not eaten; they were mutilated and left behind. I was horrified. My precious friends were gone. I had to find out who, or what, did this.
- I was almost 50 by the time I first ventured from my Gnomish village. Elves have great knowledge, so I decided to ask around the nearby Elven village about what could be lurking the forest. The Elves were reserved yet kind. I was eventually pointed towards the rangers that live on the outskirts defending the village from the unknown evils of the forest.
- Once I made my way to the rangers, they advised me to seek counsel with the most knowledgeable and the head of the rangers, Erdan Felyaar. Getting a meeting with him was difficult, but he finally heard my persistent pleas. I explained how my friends were murdered seemingly for fun. He knew exactly what monstrosity had ravaged my forest because the rangers had been hunting it for weeks. A displacer beast was the culprit.
- At that point, I made it my mission to kill it and any other beast that would cause undue harm to innocents. Erdan saw the fervor in my eyes and took me under his guidance. He honed my basic hunter-gatherer skills into sharp tracking and ranger skills. My earnestness for justice drove me out of my comfortable High Forest to slay evil all over the Forgotten Realms.
