  1. Context
  2. El Diablo, IceBreakr and the Tourist Board of Afrene are inviting you to visit a paradise on Earth - Isla Duala. Tropical forests, sandy beaches, wild savannah, clear water and the nasty neighboring Republic of Molatia are threatening to overrun the friendly Republic of Afrene in Southern part of Duala. The current peace can be very deceiving; marks of a previous decade-long war can be seen even today and a no-man zone still divides both countries with high fence running all along the border. Only a few of the natives dare to travel across. With recent diamond and oil findings in Molatia their war machine is growing. European and US peacekeeping forces are currently present in Afrene in small numbers, but this might change very soon. Russia and China are in close business ties with Molatia and Afrene is mainly providing services for US and European tourists. War between Molatia and Afrene might be just around the corner...
  3. The Molatian Army is equipped with mainly Russian weapons. The Afrenian Army are more police-security troops than a real army and rely on foreign troops in combat. They provide security in urban areas and patrol the border. There will be substantial upgrades in upcoming weeks, we've heard that Molatia bought a fleet of Mig-21s and Su-24s for the upcoming war and upgraded their armor division with substantial number of T-72s and BMP-2s.
  4. Situation
  5. Increased Molatian military activity has been observed on the island and conflict is believed to be inevitable. In addition, bandit groups backed by Molatia are causing chaos within Afrene, degrading the Afrenian Army’s readiness and terrorizing the civilian population. The 69th Infantry Division has been deployed to Kinsella Int’l. Airport and has been tasked with assisting local Afrenian Army forces in combating local bandit groups operating within Afrenia and securing the Afrenia-Molatia border.
  6. Stages
  7. This deployment consists of two stages, each lasting for about 3-4 weeks. 6-8 weeks is a fairly long deployment – perhaps too long?
  8. Stage 1: Counter-Insurgency Operations
  9. Overview
  10. 69thID assists Afrenian Army forces with fighting bandit groups across Afrenia. Bandits make use of IEDs and are focused in civilian areas. Afrenian Army forces garrison military areas and only make occasional patrols into civilian areas. Civillian presence is “medium” (per ALiVE civilian modules).
  11. Public ALiVE Deployment
  12. Activity on the ALiVE server will be limited to combat south of the Afrenia-Molatia border against the bandit faction.
  13. Private Events (Sunday Operations & Mini-ops)
  14. This stage will have 3-4 events within Afrenia focusing on major civilian areas. Zeus operators will take the role of Afrenian Army commanders to roleplay cooperation between the Sabres and the Afrenian forces. Other possible features: convoys to deliver supplies to border checkpoints (fighting through ambushes along the way), Ghost objectives within Molatia to [redacted]
  15. Stage 2: Civil War
  16. Overview
  17. War has officially broken out between the Afrenia and Molatia. Molatian forces have crossed the border and hold some territory south of the border (specifics TBD). 69thID is tasked with repelling the invading forces and chasing the Molatian Army north.
  18. Public ALiVE Deployment
  19. Combat south of the border will be replaced with combat between on and north of the border against Molatian Army regulars (technical details: increased AI skill and use of tanks/APCs). The insurgency will have been eliminated by this point and is no longer a threat. Civillian presence will still be at “medium” on the island.
  20. Private Events (Sunday Operations & Mini-ops)
  21. Private events will consist of assaults on major civilian objectives (the capital of Bolabongo, Int’l Airport, etc) and military installations. Number and nature of events TBD, but 4 is recommended.
