She is a strong, caring, blunt honest, responsible, compassionate, determined, fearless, loyal, patient and kind. But at the same time, she is stubborn, can be cruel/cold hearted, foolish, quick tempered, sarcastic, ruthless and unpredictable. Since young, being brought up by her brother, she was a tomboy and mostly wear shorts or jeans. She rarely wear dresses and is athletic, doing all kinds of sport while being an average student with high scores for maths. She enjoys math because it is straight forward and only have 1 answer each time. Since she enjoys sports, her brother enrolled her to do muay thai to defend herself and to occupy her when he goes to help out in the restaurant. Up front, she can be cold, distant and sarcastic to everyone who come her way, but once getting used to, she can be caring and loyal. She doesn't really show she cares but it is only so she doesn't get hurt. She doesn't trust people easily and it takes a long time for her to trust people. She is practical and realistic, she trusts evidence and what ever she sees. She doesn't really believe what people say unless she sees it herself. She isn't afraid to use her fist to solve the problem, only if words can;t solve it.

Background:
Born to a working class Korean family, being the youngest in the family with an older brother, she grew up near the lovely beaches of Jeongja dong. Her parents own one of the biggest restaurants in the area and is well known for their Japanese-Korean seafood cuisine. Due to her parents busy schedules, her brother took care of her most of the time and because of that they are very close. Even though their parents are really occupied with the restaurant, her father rarely sleeps at home and his excuse was that he had other business to do. When she 12, she woke up in the middle of the night with her brother listening to her parents arguing, ending with her mother sobbing. Being the eldest, her brother went to comfort their mother and told Yoon Hwa that everything is alright. Thinking that it was just a normal fight and since everything continued as nothing has happened, Yoon Hwa continued her happy life. A year later she saw her father with hanging out with another guy, following her father, she saw them entering a motel and couldn't understand what was going on until she comfronted her brother with non stop questions. At first her brother would lie saying that her father was just busy wih a friend but eventually after numerious attempts, he finally told her the truth; her father was having an affair and he was homosexual.

At first she was confused and angry, upset that no one told her the truth and how much the lies had hurt her more than the truth because it made her feel so guilty not knowing what really happened and not helping her mother in the beginning. Unable to face her family and unable to forgive them for lying, she moved out to study in Seoul, studying Law. From then on, she decided to tell the truth even though it hurts the person, better now then later.
