- - Main playable characters are Dr. Light, Dr. Wily, and Dr. Cossack
- - There are three story modes representing each character plus a fourth "free mode"
- - Each group of [] square brackets represent a single button on the mission select screen
- - Mission screen has space for 4 columns and 3 rows with some buttons spanning multiple columns
- - Numbers to the left of field names represent the average level of opponents in that mission
- - VS text to the right of mission brackets list specific targets or target groups where applicable
- - Slashes represent variations for each of the different players in order of Light/Wily/Cossack
- - UNIQUE means each player has a different variation of the mission and high scores are separate
- - SHARED means each player uses the same variation of the mission and high scores are shared
- - Goal is to complete and release Phases 1 and 2 at once then release 3 and 4 as future content

- LIGHT/WILY/COSSACK STORY MODES

- Doctors Light and Cossack work together on a new project - an augmented-reality battle simulator that will combine
- the advances in network technology with those in robot engineering to form something the world has never seen before.
- The prototype version of their project, consisting of a supercomputer attached to a large-scale, holographic battle
- stadium, is set to be revealed to the global public during a live-broadcast announcement and demonstration event.
- The reveal of the prototype is a huge success bringing in millions of viewers from across the globe. Spectators watch
- in awe as our doctors do battle with each other using holographic recreations of fan-favourite robot masters on their
- original battlefields. It's eventually revealed that - once the prototype is complete - new robot master submissions
- will be accepted and winners may be integrated into the world. This triggers an uproar of excitement from many.
- Unknown to our doctors, trouble lurks in both the shadows and in the skies. A disgruntled Dr. Wily attempts to sneak
- past security in an effort to sabotage the event, though his attention and that of all the guards is instead caught
- by something from above. A large glowing object reveals itself from the heavens and slowly descends upon the stadium,
- casting an ominous shadow over the entire landscape. Suddenly an intense and blinding flash of light bursts forth
- from inside the entity, engulfing everyone and everything in sight...

- Chapter #1 (intro battles) [UNIQUE]

- Doctors are separated and sent to different areas of the prototype world with only their partner robots. They fight off
- minor enemies and secure the area as their temporary home base. Different forms of Trill appear to each player, testing
- their skills in battle and then explaining the rules of Slur's Challenge. Trill then unlocks new areas for exploration.

- Chapter #2 (base fields) [SHARED]

- Doctors defeat copies of familiar robot masters on their original battlefields, optionally unlocking their data for use
- in battle. Once all eight robots have been disabled, a resurrected Doc Robot appears to fight the players using special
- weapons copied from the fallen robot masters of that chapter. Doc Robot retreats after being defeated to a new location.

- Doctors finally reconnect with each other but are forced to duel before continuing their challenge. The opposing player's
- story mode is unlocked upon defeat, or "free mode" in the case of Cossack's fight with Light. Doctors then make their way
- through Hunter Station by defeating the Mega Man Killers and then demand answers from Terra in the Captured Starbase.

- Chapter #4 (fusion fields) [SHARED]

- Slur is impressed by the Doctors' defeat of Terra and decides to increase the difficulty of her challenge. More robot
- masters are resurrected and their battlefields are fused together to create new obstacles for our heroes. The doctors
- defeat their new opponents with great difficulty, but in their efforts discover a mysterious new star-shaped energy
- source that boosts elemental powers. Our doctors eventually reach the Fortified Stronghold where an upgraded version
- of Doc Robot can be found with another recreated robot known as King. They too are defeated much to Slur's surprise.

- Slur is done with games and turns serious, revealing that her mission to destroy our planet will happen regardless of
- the outcome of her challenge. The doctors protest and attempt to engage Slur directly, but she falls back resurrecting
- even more powerful opponents to slow our heroes down. After clearing out the Dark Tower and the Genesis Reactor, the
- doctors find Slur in the Elemental Cataclysm with an upgraded version of Terra and two Trill support units. The battle
- is long and our heroes barely make it out alive, but in the end they use their new-found powers to finally defeat Slur
- and her army. The dust settles and the glowing entity above begins to fade back into the clouds. Crisis averted?

- Blue skies suddenly turn black and the prototype's holographic field overflows the confines of the stadium, engulfing
- everything in its path until the entire planet is swallowed. Once-peaceful cities and environments are converted into
- elemental battlefields and powerful alien robots start appearing to wreck havoc across the globe. Our heroes respond
- to the danger and defeat the resurrected Stardroid aliens, eventually taking down their leader Sunstar in battle.

- Outraged at the failure of his subordinates, the leader of the Galactic Council appears to finish the job and destroy
- our troublesome planet once and for all. Cosmo Man waits in the Final Destination for our players to make their way
- to him, giving his top commanders one more chance to prove their worth. Unfortunately, each one of them falls at the
- hands of our heroes and Cosmo Man is forced to make use of them in other ways. In the final battle, Cosmo Man pulls
- out all the stops and proves to be our heroes' toughest challenge yet. Is it even possible to defeat him?

- Chapter #8 (cache battles) [SHARED]

- After all three campaigns have been completed and every other robot master has been unlocked in the game, a new chapter
- is revealed. In this chapter, we find a mysterious program known as Cache and the robot masters it has created. Cache
- appears to have formed spontaneously in the darkest depths of the prototype, combining the data and intelligence of
- hundreds of deleted robot masters, support mecha, and fortress bosses into one being. It is unknown whether or not
- Cache is sentient, however, as it's cries cannot be deciphered or understood by any technology known to man.

- UNLOCKABLE "FREE MODE"
- =====================================================================================================================
- After completing certain objectives in the main game, Free Mode becomes available to our players from the main menu.
- All the missions found in Free Mode can be completed by any player character using any combination of robot masters.
- Missions completed in this mode will always reward the user with Zenny instead of Battle Points and cannot be used to
- increase one's rank on the leaderboard. Here are some of the mission types planned for this mode:
