Day 4: Scallop

It was just supposed to be a joke, a silly joke. It shouldn't have escalated in this way. If she had known, she wouldn't have thrown the scallop into the ocean.

Aqua was strolling around the beach, getting accustomed to her surroundings after moving from the city into her small but comfy beach house. It was a nice change of pace. The locals were also very friendly and immediately made her feel welcome. That was when she saw something that caught her eye.

She made her way towards it and picked up the pretty scallop that had caught her attention. It had a unique rainbow pattern and as she was inspecting it, she discovered a simple "hi :)" written inside it.

This wasn't surprising at all. Technology had advanced enough to make it possible to write on sea shells and the like, meant to be thrown in the water, without distorting or smudging its writing. It became common for locals to write random nonsense on shells and release them into the ocean.

Thinking that it was only from the locals, it
took the scallop home and wrote another simple "Hey :D" on its opposite side.
